Mrs. Smith’s 4 th Grade Newsletter Week #31 April 20 th - April 24 th S neak Peek at the Week Math – We will be reviewing math concepts from through out the year the students felt they needed some additional practice with Reading – Continue reading Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief as well as reviewing the comprehension technique of cause & effect. We will also continue our focus on text structure. Writing – We are continuing to work on the Famous Hoosier research project. The students will start writing their rough drafts of the 1 page paper portion of the project. Science – Review of concepts covered through out the year. Homework – Please remember to expect math work, reading logs, and spelling word practice Monday thru Thursday evenings. Important Dates April 20 th : Trimester 3 Progress Reports go home April 27 th -May 15 th : ISTEP+ Multiple Choice Testing May 12th: South Side Tin Caps Game Day 7:05pm May 15 th : Field Trip to The History Center & the Allen County Courthouse May 29 th : Field Trip to the Gene Stratton Porter Historical site in Rome City June 5 th : Last day of School This Week’s Class Spelling Words: 1. stomach 2. mystery 3. fortune 4. cement 5. mystery
