Daily Prayer of the Month
Heavenly Father, Especially during the month of May, let us remember to
always honor Your Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary; her visit to Elizabeth; and appearance at Fatima. As the Easter Season draws to a close for us, may we also remember our Orthodox brethren who celebrate Easter this month. Also during the month of May, we recall the Ascension of Jesus who kept His promise of
sending the Holy Spirit on Pentecost and to each of us in our Baptism and Confirmation. We also celebrate the feasts of the Holy Trinity and Corpus Christi. We ask that all of these commemorations lead us to a more prayerful life. Finally, let us remember those in the armed forces as we celebrate Armed Forces Day. We ask all of this in Jesus' name we pray, Amen. Please pray this prayer along with our Prayer Partners today and throughout this month. If you have a suggestion for prayer intention please let us know at [email protected]
Memorial Day Masses
In accordance with the new Diocesan Sacramental Policies, Memorial Day Masses will no longer be held outdoors (i.e. in the cemeteries), as has been
done in the past. This year Memorial Day Masses (May 30th) will be offered at 8:30am at St. James church and 9:00am at St. Patrick church. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
St. Margaret Mary Altar & Rosary
St. Margaret Mary's Altar & Rosary Society will meet at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 9 in the hall. There will be no meetings during July and August, but will resume our regular schedule on Thursday, September 1at 1 p.m. in the hall. New members would be most welcome to join us in prayer to our Blessed Mother.
Priest Ordination
On Saturday, June 4th, Fr. Valenti and Fr. Van Lieshout will attend the Priest Ordination at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Rochester. The 11:00 am confessions at St. John and the 2:00 pm confessions at St. Margaret Mary will be cancelled on this day. Confessions will be held at 4:00 pm at St. James and 4:00 pm at St. Patrick.

June Holy Hour for Vocations
Please join us at St. Patrick Church for a Holy Hour on Sunday, June 12 at 3 PM as we pray for vocations. Let us join in prayer for those who have just received the orders of deacon or priesthood in our dio-cese, those that will begin preparation for the sacrament of Holy Orders and all those that are discerning their vocation in life.
Flags at St. Patrick Cemetery
On Sunday, May 15th, The Youth Group of St. Patrick's and St. Margaret Mary's Churches experienced the
meaning of Memorial Day with a presentation by Gold Star Mother, Barbara Bilbrey. Almost nine years ago, her first born son, Iraq Fallen Hero and Bronze Star and Purple Heart Recipient Army Specialist, Charlie Bilbrey,
was buried with full military honors in St. Patrick's Cemetery, with the Commandant of West Point Military Academy Lieutenant General, Robert Caslin, as his Escort Officer. Following the heart-felt words by Mrs. Bilbrey, the 30 Youth Group members - for the first time - removed small, year old flags from the graves of 269 veterans and replaced them with new American flags.
