Step 1: This will be the first screen after the game creator loads in:

The person in the middle is the player controlled character, you can click to select this object and move it by dragging it across the screen. The solid black area underneath the character is solid ground. Selecting the test button will allow you to try out this character (WSAD to move and spacebar to attack).

Step 2: Now the icons on the left side of the screen show a number of objects that you can place into your level select the “Tile” object and drag it into the level above the ground as shown below:

Press shift wile dragging the placed object to clone an object (Note: the player will get the radar if your level becomes big enough)

Step 3: On the sidebar there is a button saying “Enemies and Hazards”, place the enemy called Ninja Boy on the platform you created. (Note: if you hover your causer over an object that isn’t self-explanatory a description will appear)

Now playtest the level, it should end once the player defeats Ninja Boy.

Step 4: You may notice that your level looks quite bland and empty, a way of solving this this by using the objects under “Walls and Decorations” as all of these objects are just textures that only effect the look of your game. With and the “tiles” object this you can turn the platform that Ninja Boy was standing on into a house.

Step 5: You may for noticed that in the image above there is a door on the house you can find this under “Switches and Doors”, add it to your own level’s house. Under this label you will also find the coloured “Rings” and “PermBlock” with their own switches, these will become solid for a time before disappearing after activating their switch. (Note: you can also find “level exit” doors here)

Step 6: If you are having trouble with the enemy then you might want to use the items under “Power Ups”, here you can find armour, weapons, abilities, vehicles and an ally for the player. Place the item “big sword” into you level and use it to defeat Ninja Boy and place the “Hovership” and test fly it (Note: press the jump button to enter vehicles”. You can also find the mission items “Crystal” and “Escape Pod” the will change the mission form defeating all enemies to finding one of these two items.

That’s all the basics that you need to know on how to make a level using this game creator, if you want to make another level to your game then press the plus next to where it says “level 1”, the arrow next to the box saying “level 1” allows you to switch between the level you want to work on. To test you entire game then click “Test” and then “Test Game” the levels will automatically advance one you finish the levels objective. Form here there are also some more tools that you can work with:

On the same row as the “level 1” there is a minus that will delete the level you are working on, next to that is the “copy level” button, the “edit level name” button and the “music” button that allows you to add music to your game.

“Save As” will let you download your game to your computer

Once you’re done with your game press “Publish” to publish your game to Sploder.com, and enjoy creating games using the Platformer Game Creator.
