Washington, D.C. Day 1: Departure from local airport or by bus for Washington, D.C. Upon arrival, we’ll proceed to our hotel for check-in. Afterwards, we visit the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, the largest Catholic Church in the United States, the 8th largest church building the world and home to more than seventy separate chapels. Following Mass, we’ll enjoy dinner as a group. Evening at leisure. Overnight Washington, D.C. Day 2: Following breakfast, we proceed to the Nation Shrine of St. John Paul II and Cultural Center. Inside, we’ll view a world class exhibit tracing his life, his Papacy, and the many teachings of St. John Paul II. We’ll also spend time in the Reliquary Chapel, where there will be time to not only view, but venerate the many unique relics the center has on display. Following lunch, we visit the Franciscan Monastery and Holy Land of North America exhibit. is unique monastery offers a scale model of the Holy Land in Jerusalem, giving you an opportunity to enjoy the Holy Land without leaving the U.S. We’ll also have time to admire the grounds and gardens that surround this beautiful monastery. Dinner, evening at leisure. Overnight Washington, D.C. Day 3: Following breakfast, we’ll enjoy sightseeing in our nation’s Capital. Starting with the Washington Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, all dedicated to presidents who understood that our rights and freedoms are a gift from God. Following lunch, we will visit the World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War Memorials. We finish this afternoon with a visit to the National Holocaust Museum, dedicated to keeping the memory of our brothers in faith who perished at the hands of the Nazis. Dinner, evening at leisure. Overnight Washington, D.C. Day 4: Following breakfast and morning mass at the National Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, we proceed home via a coach ride to the airport or a coach ride to home.
