Getting  Started  with  Your  Fundraiser  Thank  you  for  fundraising  for  PCI’s  2015  Walk  for  Water!  We  are  excited  to  see  how  your  fundraising  efforts  will  help  make  a  difference  in  the  lives  of  communities  involved  in  our  water  initiatives  around  the  world.    

PCI  uses  the  Just  Giving  fundraising  platform  for  fundraisers,  and  below  are  instructions  for  creating  your  fundraising  page,  sharing  it  with  your  family  and  friends,  and  updating  them  with  your  progress.    If  you  have  any  questions  during  this  process  please  feel  free  to  contact  Amy  Williams  at  PCI  and  she  would  be  happy  to  help  (arwilliams@pciglobal.org  or  +1  (858)  279-­‐9690  x346).  

Create  Your  Fundraising  page:    

1. Go  to:  http://www.justgiving.com/fundraising-­‐page/creation/?cid=325625&eid=2111947  2. Click  sign  up  at  the  bottom  of  the  page:  

 3. Enter  your  email,  first  and  last  name,  and  a  password  to  create  your  account:  

         

 

4. Enter  your  address:  

 5. PCI  is  unable  to  pay  for  the  cost  of  your  fundraising,  so  leave  the  answer  to  the  question  

shown  below  as  no.  Then  enter  the  unique  web  address  that  will  help  your  family  and  friends  find  your  page  easily:    

 6. Now  you  can  have  fun  personalizing  your  page!  You  can  enter  your  fundraising  goal,  add  

your  own  picture,  create  a  headline  and  a  tagline,  and  write  about  why  you’re  walking!  Don’t  forget  to  include  the  event  information  and  a  link  to  our  website  for  more  information:

 7. Once  you  click  save  and  continue,  you  can  see  your  page  as  others  will:

8. Now  that  your  basics  have  been  created,  you  can  click  on  “Edit  your  page”  to  add  photos  or  videos,  change  the  color  theme,  and  personalize  the  thank  you  message  your  supporters  receive  after  they  donate.  ***If  you  attended  the  Walk  last  year,  this  is  a  great  opportunity  to  post  pictures  from  the  event.  You  can  also  take  a  short  video  of  yourself  explaining  why  the  Walk  is  important  to  you***  

 

 

 

   

 

 

 

 

Share  your  page  with  family  and  friends:    

1. Use  the  “Edit  your  page”  menu  to  share  your  page  on  Facebook,  Twitter,  or  over  email.  Just  click  on  the  icons  to  log  in  to  your  account(s),  or  import  email  addresses  from  your  Google,  Yahoo,  MSN,  or  Outlook  account.    

 2. When  you  click  on  “Add  a  Sponsor  me  button…,”  you  can  use  the  provided  codes  to  embed  

a  link  to  your  page  directly  into  your  blog  or  website.  3. Don’t  forget  to  post  updates  so  your  supporters  can  see  how  well  you’re  doing!  

 

Congratulations!  You’re  ready  to  start  fundraising!
