Victorian Primary School Nursing Program – Preps
The primary school nurse from the Primary School Nursing
Program will be visiting our school in Term 3 to assess all
prep children who have signed consent, via their School
Entrant Health Questionnaire (SEHQ). (The question-
naire provides parents and/or guardians with the opportunity
to raise any concerns they may have about their child’s
health and development with the school nurse). These
questionnaires were distributed to all Prep parents last
week to be returned at the latest by 8th June 2016.
EQ in Action
Each week I try to share an example of our EQ in action. I
regularly ask students to live by the Golden Rule – Treat
Others The Way You Would Like To Be Treated! There
are many examples of this everyday at school. I saw at the
division athletics a great example of this with 2 Grade 4
boys, Oliver Warburton and Mitchell Grumley competing in
the 800m event. The boys came first and second respective-
ly in a great race! This is not what impressed me. What im-
pressed me the most was the sportsmanship and the empathy
shown by both boys. They were genuinely excited for each
other, patting each other on the back in congratulations.
Great to see boys!
Alpha Show to visit Guthrie Street
The ALPHA SHOW performance of ‘ALADDIN’ is com-
ing to our school on Monday, 6 June 2016. Aladdin is a full
theatrical musical especially for children, and will be a
memorable event that children will thoroughly enjoy! It has
a powerful social & emotional learning focus concentrating
on the values of Honesty, Hard Work and Goal Setting. Al-
pha has been visiting our school annually for over 10 years
and each year they have captured the children’s attention
with their amazing costuming, music and humour! To view
details and images for Aladdin, you can go to:
http://www.alphashows.com.au/shows/aladdin/
The cost for ALADDIN is covered by school fees. For fami-
lies who have not finalised this payment the cost will be
$10.
