Vodafone NavTrak ADR 5 & ADR 10 comes with the functionality of Automatic Driver Recognition (ADR). The system, which is discreetly installed in your car is easy to use and provides the following features.

Engine Start Inhibit* Activated by the Secure Operating Centre with Police authorisation, to prevent the engine from being restarted

If your car is stolenAfter an alert has been received, the Secure Operating Centre advisors attempt to contact you using the telephone numbers that you supplied at the time of registration.

A minimum of two telephone numbers must be provided at the time of activation of the contract.

The Police are not contacted until an advisor has spoken with you. This is to comply with Police procedures so that Police time is not wasted with false alarms.

Once the theft has been confirmed with you, an advisor will ask you to contact the Police to report the theft and to call the advisor back immediately with a Police incident number. Receipt of an alert does not constitute a confirmed theft, as Police Forces require key holder verification of a theft.

The Secure Operating Centre then liaises with the relevant Police Force to seek to recover your car.

If your car is outside the UK, our network of Secure Operating Centres work with the Police in their local language to recover your car quickly.

In order to prevent your car being moved following a theft, the Secure Operating Centre under instruction from the Police, may temporarily prevent the car’s engine from restarting*.

Once the Police have secured the stolen car, arrangements are made with you for the car to be collected. The Police may require it to be taken to a secure compound for further investigation.

You will be liable for any statutory Police recovery and storage charges, payable directly to the Police.

*Only available on certain devices

Important Information

Driver cards When the battery nears the end of its working life you will receive an SMS message advising you of this.

The internal battery should be replaced with a standard battery, type CR2032, which can be purchased from most high street outlets.

In order to conserve battery life, the driver card can be switched off during periods of inactivity by pressing and holding the button on the card for 10 seconds. The LED, positioned above the button on the driver card will stop flashing.

To switch the driver card back on, press and hold the button for 3-5 seconds until the LED starts to flash (once every 3 seconds).

False alerts Excessive false alerts may result in a charge. To avoid unnecessary alerts, contact the Secure Operating

Centre to inform them of any potential false alarm. With your consent, the Secure Operating Centre will set one of the following modes.

Transport mode This mode inhibits the alerts that would be generated by unexpected movement of the car, whilst the ignition is switched off.

For example if the car is to be transported.

Garage mode This mode inhibits the alerts that would be generated by unexpected tampering with the car, for example:

• The car is to be serviced• The battery is to be disconnected• Dealer maintenance on the device is to be performed

To change to transport or garage mode, please call +44 (0) 333 222 0799

Some of our devices work with an additional layer of security in the form of Automatic Driver Recognition (ADR) cards. Your device batteries require replacing periodically.

Please read below to see how to change your battery:

The internal battery should be replaced with a standard battery, type CR2032, which can be purchased from most high street outlets. To change the battery, please remove the cover from the ADR card by using a small screwdriver to gently lever open the cover at diagonal corners:

Remove the existing battery by sliding it out of the metal grip and replace it like for like with the new battery. After changing the battery, please switch the ADR card back on.

How to change your Driver Card Battery

Press and hold the button continuously for 3-5 seconds. During this time the LED will illuminate continuously. As soon as you stop pressing the LED light goes out. Following this the LED should pulse intermittently approximately every 4 seconds. (Please bear in mind that this pulse can be significantly dimmer than the light you see when you press the button). If the LED flashes on its own, it is emitting a signal. If not, please try again.

For further information on how to change your device battery, please refer to our website.

Should you have any queries relating this or require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us on +44 (0) 1282 473 732.
