Effective Teaching TechniquesWorkshop organized by GHRCE,Nagpur
Effective Teaching Techniques Workshopwas successfully conducted on 9-11 th Sept 2014 and7-8 th October 2014.There were four session everyday. Each session was entitled with a proper captionwhich was headed by respective Excellencies of thatfield. PG students of M.Tech 2 nd Years of all
branches (VLSI, ETRX, CSE, ESC, EC, CAD-CAM, WCC, MT, IPS, HeatPower, transportation,environmental) were present for the workshop. Theworkshop mainly emphasized on the effectiveteaching skill for M.Tech students, of whichmajority will choose teaching as a profession in thenear future.
Eminent speakers shared their valuablethoughts with student.Lecture on Lesson plan
practice and the psychology of learning in the art ofteaching by Mr.AmitSanyal Dr. D.J.Tidke.,Dr.S.S.Dorle, Dr.D.V.Padole, Dr.L.G.MalikMrs.GauriMahajan, Jenifer Malik were among the
expert speakers. Lecture on Course objective andcourse outcomes and evaluations of course outcomeswas delivered by Dr. P.R.Bajaj & lecture on Studentevaluation and need based teaching was given by Dr.P.B .Nagarnaik.The workshop undertaken provedvery useful for students and reviews obtained fromthem was satisfactory. Department of Mechanical Engineeringarranged a guest lecture on 16/10/2014 for DataStructure & Algorithm by Dr. S. R. Sathe fromVNIT, Nagpur. The students of 1 st year M. TechCAD/CAM attended the expert lecture. He shared
his vast knowledge of data structure with studentsand cleared their doubts and concepts very beautifully. He guided the students about the futurescope in data structure field. He also taught varioussorting techniques and their applications andimplementation in data structure. He later dwelt onalgorithmic notations and time complexity. At theend, he elaborated on complicated topics likevarious kinds of asymptotic analysis of algorithm &vital points to be kept in mind during writing asorting technique algorithm. All students were
benefited by the immense knowledge inputs on DataStructure.

Experts from ICE institute hadacknowledged plenty of students who were GATE
passed score & living researcher life after theirgraduation. In research works for doing M.Tech &M.E. A group of students were keen to know about
University Intake & opportunity about admissionranks. Research works and stipend facilities duringlearning were more expressively discussed. InParticipants students from 3 rd, 5th A & B semesterwere present.
According to ICE they have make it plentyof students as researcher from GHRCE in last fewyears. Looking toward same approach anencouragement was provided about forms fillingExamination pattern & important tricks to crackGATE. Many students were benefited within fewhours span.

Guest lecture of M.Tech.VLSI &M.Tech.Electronics First/Third sem
students
The guest lecture was organized for PGstudents of VLSI and Electronics Engineering
branch of G.H.Raisoni College ofEngineering,Nagpur on 14 th October 2014 at 10 amin PG Lab of Electronics Engineering Department.The Expert Person was Dr.M.M.Mushrif,Professor,Electronics and TelecommunicationEngineering Dept Yeshwantrao Chavan College of
Engineering,Nagpur. The Expert was accompanied by PG coordinators Dr.S.D.Giripunje andProf.P.H.Rangaree.
Total 72 PG students of VLSI andElectronics Engineering Stream of first semester andthird semester were present. The theme of the lecturewas Image Segmentation. In that, various topics onSegmentation ,principle approaches, Edge Detection,Ideal & Ramp Edges,Noise Images were discussed.
The expert also gave basic knowledge of Operators,thresholding, Region growing, Region splitting etc.It was a well organized and beneficial lecture for thestudents.

Department of Electronics Engineering ofG.H.Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur hasorganized Guest Lecture on Video Processing usingMATLAB by Mr. Ambarish Salodkar, on 11 th March 2013 for post graduate (M.Tech) students ofVLSI and Electronics. Mr.Ambarish Salodkar is aassistant professor in ARMIET Mumbai.Mr.Salodkar was welcomed by Prof.S.D.Giripunje.Mr. Salodkar started lecture with the basics of image
processing in MATLAB and thereby developed thetechnique of Video Processing. The lecture includes
theory as well as hands on session on MATLAB.Main focus of the lecture and hands-on practice wasto explore knowledge about video processing whichcan be implemented in the projects related toimages. Exposure to this technology will open upnew avenues in image processing and greatly helpstudents for carrier in such type of design jobs .

that at the end of this workshop students will be in a position to give shapes to their ideas.The primetopics covered during this workshop were-Message in Space (POV) using AVR Micrcontroller,Mobile Controlled Robot, SSD and LED Blinkerusing AVR ATMega8,PC Controlled Robot,PC based Automation System also, additionalsoftwares were taught namely-AVRStudio,WInAVR ,Flash magic and Sinaprog.

Mechanisms at IIT Madras. The workshop wasduring 28-30 October, 2014. It was arranged forfaculty members of TEQIP funded institutions. Themain objective of the workshop was to improve theteaching-learning methods in the institute and itinsisted on giving the stress on learner centricapproach and not on teacher centric approach. Theworkshop was conducted at Teaching LearningCentre, IIT Madras and was coordinated by Dr.Edamana Prasad and Dr. Rajeev Sukumaran, IIT,Madras. There were more than 50 participants fromall over India. Some of the key points in theworkshop were Learner Diversity & MotivationParameters, Use of Learning Outcomes for qualityassurance, active & cooperative learning, qualityaudit of laboratory courses, psychological aspects of
learning, reflective teaching etc.

On 11 th October, 2014, students of M. Tech.CAD/CAM were seen engrossed in working on a lotof creative ideas. All students gathered atMechanical Department with enthusiasm to presenttheir creativity to all the Raisonians at the CreativeCorner . A wide variety of ideas ranging from socialissues to technical concepts of projects were
presented by the students. Innovative workingmodels were also displayed. After the day s hardwork and waiting, it was the turn of judges toevaluate students work and identify creative works
different from others. They were all praise forstudents creative contributions. At the end of day allstudents truly enjoyed being part of a stimulatingday and went down into the memory lanes of school
days where they had enjoyed creative pursuits before.

and observing various manufacturing processes usedfor manufacturing of transmission towers.
