The UAP Aklan Chapter held its 1st General Membership Meeting last July 7, 2018 at Aquafresh Manokan, Kalibo Aklan. Among the matters that were discussed are the preparation on the upcoming 12th Founding Anniversary and Induction of Officers, Overview of Davao Inaugural, Auditing of Budget for FY 2017-2018 and New Chapter Uniform for FY 2018-2019. Solicitation letters were also given for suppliers who wants to support the Chapter for the 12th founding Anniversary.

The 1st Committee meeting was held on July 11, 2018 at Marzon Hotel Kalibo, attended by members of UAPSA in ASU Kalibo in line with the preparation of the 12th Founding anniversary. Among the matters that were discussed with the committees were set up of the event area, duties and responsibilities of UAPSA-ASU during the event as well as duties by the committee on the Anniversary and Induction Proper.

The 1st Council meeting was held afterwards at the Mercurio Building, Veterans Ave. Kalibo Aklan. The council was composed of past presidents of the UAP Aklan Chapter. Matters regading the 12th founding anniversary were discussed including the approval of the program proper and budget for the said event. Other matters that were discussed are the current status of membership including those that are inactive and those who do not regularly participate in activities.

Meeting was adjourned at 4pm.

On the 18th day of July, UAP Aklan Chapter celebrated its 12th Founding Anniversary as well as the Induction of Officers and New members.It was a Formal event where Architects and Guest came in their Formal attire, Long gown for the Ladies and Coat and tie for Men. The Event was hosted by Mr. Valor Alba, a good friend of the Incoming President Ar. Rea Mae Fagtanac. It was held at the Executive Hall of Marzon Hotel Kalibo Aklan.

The guest Speaker is none other than the National President Ar. Benjamin Panganiban Jr., FUAP, APEC Ar., AA. FRIA, he presented a slide show of his visions and projects for UAP which was very inspiring.

Among the Distinguished guest who gave their speech were Secretary General Ar. Ronnie Yumang, UAP, PIEP, AA, National Executive Vice President Ar. Rey Gabitan UAP, PIEP and Area C Vice President Ar. Rolando V. Ignacio UAP. Friends from UAP Roxas-Capiz Chapter also attended this event.

During dinner, UAP Aklan presented a video of all the past projects done by all the past Presidents of the Chapter showing unity and camaraderie among members. The induction of officers were led by National President Benjie Panganiban assisted by NEVP Ar. Rey Gabitan alongside UAP Aklan’s Past Presidents, followed by the Induction of New members Ar. Earl John Kimpo and Ar. Ian Kristoffer Revisa. The Valedictory address was delivered by Ar. Arjay Arguelles thanking all those who supported his Two – Year Term, after this, Ar. Rea Mae Fagtanac delivered her Inaugural Address encouraging all members to actively participate on all her incoming projects for her term.

The Morning after the Induction of Officers, Our Chapter President Ar. Rea Mae Fagtanac was invited to attend and support the 40th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week held at Kalibo Pilot Elementary School. This is a feeding program for Children with Disabilities of Aklan. It is a heartwarming feeling to see the happiness in these kids faces, that is why it is very important to show them love and support.

2nd General Membership Meeting was held Last July 28, 2018 at Fagtanac Compound. The meeting was held in advance due to the urgency to meet the members for upcoming activities for August, including the Joint Area C4 Induction at Iloilo City on August 9. Officers and Board of Directors were advised to attend the event while other members were also welcome to join.

Proposed Mural Painting for August activity was also discussed, including the changing of design for the old mural painting done at the Sto. Niño Church perimeter fence. The Head Committee for this project will be Ar. Jan Dionela, While drafting of syllabus for the upcoming CPD Seminar was headed by Ar. Sabattini Fernandez.

The New Chapter Uniforms were distributed to the present members as well as their IAPOA certificates. Ar. Desposorio Maagma distributed free stickers for each members with the tag line “For Your Architectural Needs Get an Architect” Members all agreed to add the word “Architectural” on the National’s Campaign “For your Plans and Designs Get an Architect”. Other matters that were discussed are the non-participating and inactive members including drafting a resolution so the chapter can easily identify their status.

Last July 29, 2018, our chapter President Ar. Rea Mae Fagtanac had a special meeting with the UAPSA-ASU Kalibo Officers, this is to discuss the projects lined up by the UAP Aklan Chapter and to ensure the Student Auxilliary’s support on each activity. One of the Activity that needs their support is the Mural Painting to be held in August. The UAPSA-ASU is a student Organization who is always supporting the projects of UAP Aklan Chapter. This is also to mold the students’ capabilities in handling projects in the future.
