CANT GET THE WEBADDRESS YOU REALLY

    WANT?

(NewsUSA) - Got a great idea fora Web site, but cant find a decent.com Web address that suits you?Over the past 25 years, more than95 million .com addresses havebeen registered by corporations, organizations and individuals. Asa result, the pool of meaningful.com names is nearly exhausted.Fortunately there are a few

    solutions:

If the Web address you want isowned by someone else, you canoffer to buy it -- but sometimessales can range from severalhundred to several hundredthousand dollars.

Using an alternate domainextension, such as .net, .org, .infoand .biz, might help you find thename that you want, but Internetusers can easily overlook these

    target niche audiences.

Perhaps the best way for you toget the Web address you wantis with the new .CO domainextension, which launched in Julyand generated nearly half a millionregistrations in the first few weekslone!

Here are just a few reasons whyhe .CO domain extension haseen such an immediate success:

Its Familiar -; .CO is very similaro .com, so its easy for people

to remember. People aroundthe world already associate cowith company, so its easier forthem to make the leap from .com

to .CO. Also, its already used in20 country-specific domains likeEngland (.co.uk), Canada, (.co.ca),Japan (.co.jp), and others.

    * Its Available -; Since there areso many .CO names to choosefrom, people all over the world are

jumping on the .CO bandwagon. You can search for available .COdomains through registrars suchas GoDaddy.com, Register.com,Network Solutions and others.

    * Its Safer -; .CO takes a toughstand on all forms of domain nameabuse. Theyve taken steps toprotect the rights of brands andtrademark holders and have madeit harder for cyber-squatters andfraudsters to hide from authorities.

Thousands of major corporations, such as Apple, Coca-Cola, Disney,McDonalds and Sony, have alreadysecured their .CO domain names. Many companies like Overstock.com (o.co) are using .CO to create

new content, reach new audiencesor offer new services.

It may take a while for .CO to catchup to .com, but at least you can getin on the ground floor and securethe .CO domain that best fits youronline business, blog or personalWeb site. For more information, visit www.cointernet.co.

    ENDANGERED WOLVES TAKE

    STEP TO DELISTING

MICHIGAN The grey wolf wolfrecovery has reached a point wherewildlife officials are consideringdelisting the species from theendangered species list. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Serviceannounced on Wednesday theresults of an initial review ofpetitions they received to removegrey wolves in Minnesota,Wisconsin and Michigan fromthe federal endangered specieslist, saying the information in thepetitions may warrant delisting the

species. This finding was in response topetitions submitted in spring 2010by the Minnesota Department ofNatural Resources, WisconsinDepartment of Natural Resourcesand Safari Club International. TheMichigan Department of NaturalResources and Environmentsupported these petitions. DNREWildlife Division officials arepleased that the USFWS hasmoved one step closer to removingwolves in Minnesota, Wisconsin

and Michigan from the list. The recovery goals established

by the USFWS have been metsince 1999, and the currentwolf population in Michigan andWisconsin exceeds the recovery

goal by more than 10 times.Wolves are fully recovered in theGreat Lakes region and we urgethe USFWS to move forward in adeliberate process to delist wolves, said DNRE Director RebeccaHumphries. The wolf remains federallyendangered, but this finding is animportant step in toward delisting,Humphries said. The next stepafter this 90-day finding will be afull status review by USFWS. Thefull status review will determine

whether delisting is warrantedor not. Over the next 60 days, the DNRE will provide scientificdata regarding Michigans wolfpopulation to the USFWS to helpsupport delisting.

A similar series of events occurredafter Michigan, Wisconsin andMinnesota petitioned the USFWSto delist in 2006. A full statusreview determined that delistingwas warranted, and the wolf wasremoved from the list in 2007.Federal courts overturned the

delisting and the wolf was placedback on the list in 2008.For more information on wolves inMichigan, go to www.michigan.gov/wolves .

    TIPS FOR STRESS-FREE AIR

    TRAVEL

(NewsUSA) - Man-made andnatural disruptions to air travel areall-too-often the norm. Not onlycan weather delay take-offs andlandings, but new airline rules can

    also keep planes grounded.

For example, if a plane is sittingon the tarmac for more than threehours, it has to return to the gate.On the upside, there are ways tocope with the unexpected. Hereare a few simple tips to prepare fordelays before leaving home:

    * Print copies of itineraries with the800 numbers for your airline, andothers that fly the same route, justin case you have to rebook from

the airport. The paper-free option?E-mail those numbers or enter themmanually into your smartphone.

    * Check airline Web sites for delaypostings. New rules mandate thatairlines have this information online.

Alternatively, you can go to www.flightstats.com.

    * Make sure you can access youroffice and home computers in theevent you are stuck while traveling.Free and inexpensive programs

like LogMeIn (www.LogMeIn.com)make it quick, easy and secure

to access files, calendars andapplications from any computer, smartphone, netbook or iPad withan Internet connection.

    * Enlist a friend or family memberwho knows their way around onlinetravel sites, and keep them on yourmobile phone speed dial. If youhave to make alternative plans, they can probably do it faster thananyone.

    * Remember travel insurance. A fewextra dollars tacked onto the priceof your trip can provide peace ofmind if you have to change plansfor unforeseen reasons. Check

what your airline, travel agent, booking site and credit cards offerto make sure that youre covered.

    * Have fun. Many airports areadding luxuries like spas, high-endrestaurants and even showers tokeep passengers happy. Find outwhat your airport, and the ones thatyou will visit, offer before you go,so youre able to enjoy them to thefullest.

While there is no surefire guarantee

for disruption-free air travel, a littleadvanced planning can go a longway -- even all the way to yourdestination.

    FALL AND WINTER

    MAINTENANCE PRESERVES

    LOOKS OF COMPOSITE

    DECKS

(NewsUSA) - Many people chooseto build decks with composite

materials because of the low-maintenance characteristics ofthe product. Although compositeproducts are, in fact, less work thentraditional wood decks, some careis required to keep the productlooking great over time. As thecooler weather approaches, thereare a few things you can do toprotect the look of your compositedeck:

    Basic Cleaning Recommendations

Composite materials reduce thereoccurring work of painting, staining or sealing, but for thebest results, a regular cleaningwith an eco-friendly cleaner isrequired. TimberTech, a leadingmanufacturer of composite deckingproducts, recommends using CorteClean and spraying the deck witha pressure washer before winterweather approaches.

To clean with a power washer, use a fan tip nozzle and spray in

the direction of the brush/grainpattern. Be sure to use propersafety precautions, including the

    Ice and Snow Removal

For homeowners who live in harshwinter environments, its importantto remove ice and snow fromyour deck in order to eliminatedamage. For ice removal, it is bestto use either rock salt or calciumchloride on the composite surface. However, either of these productsmay leave a white residue, whichcan be removed by either rinsingwith water or a mild soap- and-water solution.

    Prevention Is Key

Composite products, like the onesmanufactured by TimberTech, are formulated to inhibit mildewgrowth and minimize staining. It isimportant to rinse off any compositeproduct periodically with a hosein order to prevent the build-upof pollen and debris. Just as youwould rake and gather leaves fromyour yard to maintain the grass, itsimportant to clean decking in thefall to remove build-up. Even if itappears clean, mildew stains mayoccur where moisture, pollen anddirt are present.

Maintaining a clean, dry surface isthe best method to combat mildew.Ensure that water drains effectivelyfrom your deck, and be sure thatgaps exist between planks to allowfor adequate drainage.

No matter what type of compositeproduct you choose, it is importantto follow the manufacturersdirections carefully and maintaina periodic cleaning scheduleto ensure that your deck is anenjoyable space for years tocome. For more information aboutcomposite decking care, visit www.timbertech.com.

(NewsUSA) - Tire pressuremonitoring systems (TPMS) arenow a standard safety feature onall new cars in the United States.TPMS automatically monitors tirepressure and alerts the driver whenthe pressure in one or more tiresbecomes significantly low -- andpotentially dangerous.

Still, conducting monthly tirepressure checks is one of thesmartest driving moves you can

make. Not only are properly inflated

tires critical for vehicle safety, theyalso increase fuel efficiency andreduce carbon dioxide emissions.

    Increase Fuel Efficiency

According to the U.S. Departmentof Energy, 3.56 million gallons ofgasoline are wasted every daydue to incorrectly inflated tires. The good news is you can improvegas mileage just by keeping tiresinflated to the proper pressure. Infact, one study showed that if gascosts $3 per gallon, proper tirepressure can save you up to $432at the pump each year.

    Reduce Carbon Dioxide Emissions

According to the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency, the typical car in the United Statesreleases more than five tons ofcarbon dioxide into the atmosphereeach year. By keeping tiresproperly inflated, you can reduceyour vehicles carbon footprint byan average of 327 pounds per year.Because a tire can lose up to halfits air pressure without appearing tobe under-inflated, you cannot relyon a tires appearance to determinewhether its properly inflated or not.

    Tire Pressure Tips From Schrader

To help ensure your tires areproperly inflated year-round, hereare some tips from Schrader, theinventor and leading manufacturerof TPMS worldwide:

    * Check the pressure in all four tire-- and the spare tire -- monthly withan accurate tire gauge, and alwayscheck tire pressure before a longroad trip.

    * The right pressure for yourvehicles tires can be found in thevehicles manual or on the driverdoor edge, glove box or fuel door.Do not follow the information listedon the tire sidewall.

    * For the most accurate reading, tires should be checked when theyare cool.

    * Always remember to replace thevalve cap.

For more tips, including whatto do if the TPMS symbolilluminates on your dashboard, visitTPMSMadeSimple.com. Schradercreated the site to help educatedrivers about TPMS and theimportance of proper tire pressure.
