CHILE

• The Republic of Chile is a country in south America occupying a long, narrow coastal strip between the Andes mountains to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. It bordersPeru to the north, Bolivia to the northeast, Argentina to the east.

TOURISM• Tourism in Chile has

experienced sustained growth over the last few decades. In 2005, tourism grew by 13.6%, generating more than 4.5 billion dollars of which 1.5 billion is attributed to foreign tourists. According to the National Service of Tourism (Sernatur), 2 million people a year visit the country. Most of these visitors come from other countries in the American continent; Argentina, Brazil and United States, but also are a lot of visitors of Europe and from Asia fromSouth Korea and China.

• The most visited places are places of natural beauty situated in the extreme zones of the country like San Pedro de Atacama, the Valley of the Moon. Throughout the central Andes there are many ski resorts of international repute, like Portillo and Valle Nevado. In the south, the main tourist sites are the Chiloé Archipelago and Patagonia, which includes Laguna San Rafael National Park. .The central port city of Valparaíso, with its unique architecture, is also popular.

SAN PEDRO OF ATACAMA

• The main characteristic of this region is that it is a transition zone between the Great North desert and the fertility of central valleys.Historical places, desert, beaches and zones for the adventure tourism turn this region into a place full of attractions, both to the chilean an foreign tourist.

• The Atacama Salt Flat The Salar de Atacama spreads out to the South of San Pedro de Atacama on a surface of 3,000 square kilometers and at 2,305 meters above sea level. It is a plain Located between the Andes Mountain Range and the Domeyko Mountain Range and bordering the Salt Mountain Range ...

• The Salt Mountain Range

On this range, located 2 kilometers to the west of San Pedro de Atacama, you can observe a geological phenomenon of enormous mineral sculptures formed by the wind and rain.

• St. Peter's Church: Perimeter by an adobe wall with three doors crowned by an arch, is the largest and most beautiful in the region. Hosted parish before 1641, but its present walls date back to 1744 and were repaired between 1839 and 1843.

• Moon Valley: 12 km of the town, by the old road to Calama. It is a depression surrounded by dunes and hills with breathtaking desert sharp ridges, located on the Cordillera de la Sal.

COQUIMBO

• This chilean region has become in the last years an area of great touristic demand.It´s warm climate, with pleasant and not very often cloudy days in the coast, makes this place a excellent alternative for all kinds of tourism.

• Part of this zone, called "Small North", counts with beautiful beaches, as well as a rich archaeology and privileged scenes for astronomical observation.

BEACHES:

Peñuelas, has a casino, a hippodrome club and tennis courts. Its beaches are covered with fine sand and soft slops.

La herradura, has horseshoe-shaped beaches extending for 2 km of soft slops and warm and soft tide.

Totoralillo, has pleasant beaches with a small peninsula and rocky landscape. It is characterized by its clear and transparent waters. It is specially apt for fishing and underwater fishing due to the variety of fish and seafood it offers.

Las tacas, located south of Coquimbo. A small bay with greet white sands. It is apt for shore fishing. The annual average temperature oscillate between the 15 and 18º C.

Playa Blanca, a small bay approximately extending to 500 Mts. It is located at 45 km south-west of Coquimbo between Guanaqueros and Tongoy.

VALPARAISO

• Due to its proximity to the nation´s capital, the Region of Valparaiso has always been the most visited by tourists from all the world. Located less than two hours away from Santiago, it counts with beautiful beaches, as well as agricultural zones that are constantly visited by tourists. All the year it has great cultural, gastronomical and artistic activity. This city has in one place all the services of a great metropolis or world capital.

• And there are a lots more places that you can visit, like the region of Tarapacá, Antofagasta  Metropolitan Region Santiago Region O’Higgins, Region Maule, Region Bío Bío, Region La Araucanía, Region Los Lagos, Region Aysén, Region of Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica.

• There you can enjoy of beautiful beaches, storical monuments and a lots of interesting activities.
