Pioneers in Anti-Terrorism Law “We do things that have never been done before,” says Thomas Fay,

founder of Fay Kaplan Law, P.A. The firm has become known for

its ability to hold foreign governments accountable for damages

in terrorist attacks. Mr. Fay ventured into the anti-terrorism

law sector in 1983, when he began working with those affected

by the terrorist attacks on U.S. Marine in Beirut, Lebanon. He

went on to pioneer the use of the Federal Foreign Sovereign

Immunities Act. The firm now represents more than 900 FSIA

claims. It deals with cases worth billions of dollars on a regular

basis. In addition to their niche in anti-terrorism law, the firm

specializes in personal injury and medical malpractice law.

Jamie Elizabeth Knight, who joined the firm on January 2, 2013.

Mr. Fay is also pleased to report that his nephew, Joseph W. Fay,

I specialize in anti-terrorism. Q. Whom do you hope to inspire? A. I hope to inspire my daughter, Caragh Glenn Fay, who works with me. Q. How do you stay current in your profession? A. I keep track of [specific cases] reported across the country. Q. What advice would you offer to someone starting out in your industry? A. Get into a state school to keep expenses down.
