GOSPEL HOUR July 9th @ 4:00pm

The garden plot has been planted. If you would like to help tend the garden this year please contact Dick Norris at 452-2287. Your help is always appreciated.

The Garden of Eatin’ provides us with fresh vegetables to give to the neighborhoods surrounding our church. This is one of our summer outreach programs.

Forgiven is best described as dedicated, talented and sincere. Cloid and Debbie Baker form this duo, whose music and testimony communicate to the listener their love for Jesus Christ. Seldom does a gospel group come along with a sweeter harmony, professional appearance and heartfelt desire for ministry than FORGIVEN. The primary focus of their ministry is the church and their purpose is to provide through music and testimony a worship service for the Christian and an evangelistic service for the unsaved.

Cloid and Debbie have devoted nearly all of their Christian lives to singing the good news of Jesus Christ. They have a rich heritage in Gospel Music, as their backgrounds include serving with two icons in the gospel music industry, the Gaithers and the Weatherfords. Debbie traveled with the Weatherfords in the early 1970s, at the

same time Cloid was traveling with the Bill Gaither Trio. After their marriage in 1972, they both traveled with the Weatherfords and when Danny Gaither left the Bill Gaither Trio in 1977 to start his own group, he chose Cloid & Debbie to be part of his ministry. Cloid & Debbie started the group Forgiven in 1988, traveling year round and singing in 200 or more services each year.

FORGIVEN will be here for our Gospel Hour on Sunday, July 9th at 4:00 pm. Tell your friends! We will take a freewill offering. We hope to see you then!

FORGIVEN will be here

A LITTLE FATHER’S DAY HUMOR….

On a brutally hot day I walked past a miniature golf course and saw a dad following three small children from hole to hole. “Who’s winning?” I shouted. “I am,” said one kid. “Me,” said another. “No, me,” yelled the third. Sweat drip-ping down his face, the dad gasped, “Their mother is.” —Tom Lappas Our family sheltered in the basement after hearing a tornado warning. My husband told everyone to stay put while he got his cell phone from the car, in case the lines went dead. He didn’t return for the longest time, so I went look-ing for him. I was upstairs calling his name, when I heard our phone machine click on. “Hi,” a voice said. “This is Dad. I’m locked out of the house.” —Laure Jorges Our 17-year-old daughter was going by bus to a soccer tournament in Delaware and she’d packed more baggage than Noah. As I was hauling it out of the trunk I remarked, “Oh, Erica, we forgot the kitchen sink!” Another father instantly chimed in: “It’s okay. Ashley has one—they can share.” —Andrew W. Dencs On my parents’ 50th anniversary, I remarked to my father that he and Mom never seemed to fight. “We battled,” he said, “but it never amounted to much. After a while one of us always realized that I was wrong.” —Gary Markman My mom had always wanted to learn to play the piano, so Dad bought her one for her birthday. A few weeks later, I called and asked how she was doing. “We returned the piano,” said Dad. “I persuaded her to switch to a clarinet. I asked why. “Because,” he explained, “with a clarinet, she can’t sing along.” —Don Foster
