Want to go green? Want to save green? Here's a little bit of information about thechurch's plans to go green. We haven't taken it to the Church Council yet, but here'sa preview. We are going to have GREEN WEDNESDAYS at the church. We want to

These topics included: how to attract younger people to ourchurch, what we excel in, but all agreed the bottom line is Webb Chapel belongs to God, not us.Our next meeting will be August 25 at 11 :30 a.m. and we will discuss Walk in a RelaxedManner Life Lessons from the Camino by Joyce Rupp.

VOLUNTEERS MAKING A DIFFERENCEWhat is the "Second Chance Cafe? What is our

connection with this ministry? Webb Chapel currentlyserves as a volunteer group for the lunch meal at theSecond Chance Cafe on the third Tuesday of eachmonth. Phyllis McCullough is our volunteer leader forthis monthly mission trip along with the help of DorisTaylor, Jean Grace, Sammie Perry, plus otheroccasional volunteers. Many of our other pastmembers have donated their time since the late'80's/early 90's when the meals were served at theold Stewpot location.

In May 2008, The Stewpot became the partneragency for meal services at The Bridge HomelessAssistance Center, just three blocks south of TheStewpot. While The Stewpot's meal service moved toThe Bridge, all other client services for the homelesscontinue to be provided at The Stewpot. The diningroom at The Bridge is called the Second ChanceCafe.The Stewpot is currently serving three meals a day,

seven days a week to more than 700 people per mealin the Second Chance Cafe - with the assistance ofover 1300 wonderful volunteers a month! Volunteersdish up a delicious, nutritious meal prepared bySecond Chance Cafe kitchen staff served cafeteriastyle. Volunteers also pour beverages for our guestsonce they are seated. Meals are served at thefollowing times:

Breakfast 7:00 - 8:30 amLunch 11:30 - 1:00 pmDinner 6:00 - 7:00 pm

In March 2009, the Second Chance Cafe 1310volunteers served 48,231 meals.The Stewpot is a community ministry program of

First Presbyterian Church Dallas, and not only offersmeals, but also casework services, children and youthprograms and creative alternatives to individualsexperiencing homelessness and poverty. You canfind more information on The Stewpot by going onlineto www.thestewpot.org. or look for the pamphlet onthe ministry table in the north hallway with ways youmight help this wonderful ministry; especially the infoon the needs for their "Manna Bags". WET PARKING LOT SALEDIDN'T DAMPEN THE SPIRIT

OF GIVINGThe skies opened up and the rain poured most

of the day during our May 16th AnnualParking Lot Sale/Silent Auction. Luckily, we

had planned for rain and set up our sale insideFellowship Hall. With our valuable treasures

displayed, our exciting auction table, ourdelicious bake sale, and yummy food at our

concession sale we carried on this tradition ofan event raising almost $800.00. We want to

thank all who donated items, those whohelped set up and clean up, those who cookedthe hot dogs and Frito chili pie, and those whocame and shopped to show support for Webb

Chapel.

Thursday of every month from 10 a.m. until noon andhelps numerous neighbors with a few groceries to get
