Today we cruise to Cologne, home to the revered gothic Cologne Cathedral. Join a guided tour through Old Town and explore the UNESCO-designated cathedral. Continue on to Cologne Rathaus, Overstolzenhaus and the Gürzenich Festival Hall for more exploration. Visit a local tavern to taste its famous Kölsch beer and reibekuchen, potato pancakes typically served with applesauce. Active adventurists may want to join a guided bike tour along the Rhine.

FridayOctober 8

Rüdesheim, Germany

Our cruise along the Rhine River is lined with castles and panoramic views. Drink up the stunning vistas while soaring above the vineyards on a gondola ride to the Niederwaddenkmal Monument and be treated to a wine tasting. Take a stroll through the town’s beautiful vineyards or join a guided bike tour to Schloss Johannisberg. You’ll be charmed by the cheery guide and large collection of mechanical music boxes at Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. Taste a Rudesheim, a special local delight made with brandy, coffee and whipped cream.

Mainz & Lahnstein, Germany

We arrive in Mainz, home to many historic treasures and located at the confluence of the Main and Rhine rivers. During a guided city tour you will visit the Romanesque cathedral to see the Chagall stained glass windows depicting scriptural scenes in stunning blue colors. For more adventure, consider taking a guided bike tour through the city. This afternoon we cruise to Lahnstein through the Rhine River Gorge, famous for its beautiful and imposing castles. Finish your day with a visit to the 13th-century Lahneck Castle standing watch over the confluence of the Rhine and Lahn rivers.

Moselle Valley & Cochem, Germany

Spend your morning taking in the beauty of the Moselle as we sail to Cochem, dressed in the vine-clad slopes of the Moselle Valley. Embark on a guided tour of Reichsburg Castle followed by a walk through Old Town lined with half-timbered houses. Tour the historic mustard mill and sample Cochem’s famous mustard, still produced in nine flavors using centuries-old recipes.

Walk through the city’s colorful town center, past medieval and Renaissance buildings. Tour a local winery and enjoy tasting some of the vineyard’s specialties. Cycling enthusiasts can trek along the Moselle and hikers can wander up to the ruins of Landshut Castle, which dates back to the 9th century.

Luxembourg, Germany & Paris, France

Today we disembark and travel to Paris where we’ll find iconic architecture, glorious wines and artistic treasures.

Upon arrival in Paris, we’ll enjoy a panoramic guided city tour, seeing world-renowned sights such as Montmartre, The Opera Garnier and the Champs Elysees. Tonight we’ll lodge at the newly renovated 4-star Crowne Plaza Republique located in the heart of Paris. Join your friends for an exquisite 3-course dinner at Le Bistro Parisien highlighted with views of the Eiffel Tower.

Wednesday October 13 (Breakfast)

Breakfast is included at the hotel before we transfer to the airport for our return flight home. We’ll be taking with us memories of the rich culture, natural beauty and the exceptional wines we experienced on our cruise through the Vineyards of the Rhine and Moselle.
