Greetings unto the Council and Populace of Three Mountains from Baron Aedan and Baroness Al-
exandria!
As winter settles across the land, the populace of the fair Barony of Three Mountains came together
with our friends from the Barony of Stromgard and the Barony of Dragon's Mist for a day of good
company and excellent food at the recent Tri-Barony Yule Feast. Many thanks go out to James
Sayer and his entire staff for hosting an exceptional event. The event attracted many newcomers,
and We hope many of these will continue to enjoy the SCA in the future. Newcomers are our
lifeblood!
Though the day was festive, storm clouds gathered on the horizon as the drums of war began to
beat. Clearing having received poor council, the Barony of Vulcanfeldt has declared war on our
fine lands. We directed our Champion to put forth the call to battle and Our forces begin their
muster. Standing beside us will be the Barony of Dragons Mist, yet through some further treach-
ery, which will undoubtedly come to light, our friends in Stromgard will raise their banner with
Vulcanfeldt. The matter will be settled at Baroness' War in April. May the steel of Our warriors
ring ever true and may the blades of our enemies chip and shatter!
In many ways it seems as if We have just recently stepped up as Baron and Baroness of Three
Mountains, yet We are just about to enter our final year as Coronets of these great lands. The pro-
cess to choose Our successors will begin in only a few months. We encourage any who are inter-
ested in becoming the next Coronets contact us so we can answer any questions about the process
and responsibilities in the positions.

The Society for Creative Anachronism Inc. is accepting applications for the position of Editor for The Compleat
Anachronist.
The Compleat Anachronist is a journal published four times a year. Each issue is approximately 60 pages long and
focuses on a single topic relevant to the time period 600 C.E. to 1600 C.E. The single-topic format gives readers
an opportunity to review a subject in much more detail than Tournaments Illuminated, a Kingdom Arts and Sci-
ences publication, or a local newsletter can provide.
The Editor is responsible for oversight of all aspects of issue production, including recruiting authors and review-
ers, manuscript development, as well as submitting quarterly reports to the Board of Directors and the Publica-
tions Manager. A team approach to issue production is encouraged to assist in effective and timely management of
the publication.
The Editor may recruit a support staff, including assistant editors, graphic artists, and other assistants. The Editor
needs to either be, or have on staff, a graphic artist with access to and experience with a computer running Quark
or InDesign and the ability to export files to high resolution pdf format.
Contributing authors are generally responsible for providing their own illustrations, photographs or other art-
work, but it is helpful for the Editor to develop a pool of artists to assist authors if needed.
Qualifications for the position include excellent written and oral communication skills, leadership skills, the abil-
ity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, and strong computer skills.
Professional experience in editing, design, art direction or desktop publishing and prior experience in an SCA
chronicler position are desirable, but not required.
The position requires approximately 20 to 35 hours per month (this includes recruiting authors, screening manu-
scripts, proofreading, layout, correspondence, and online reviewing). The deadlines to get the finished layout to
the printer are 15 December, 15 March, 15 June, and 15 September. The issues are mailed quarterly in January,
April, July, and October.

Seasonal greetings unto Their Excellencies Aedan and Alexandria, the Officers of the Barony of Three Mountains, and the most
noble populace.
It has been, as is not unusual for this time of the year, a busy month. In addition to the customary modern holiday matters, I was in
contact with four different new people. I attended the Tri-Baronial
Yule and found that two of our recent newcomers were in attendance there, as well as a personal friend whom I invited along and
some others whom I did not meet, and it seemed that everyone had a good time.
My term of office will expire soon -- technically, it expires this month -- and we have two people who have presented letters of in-
tent to take on the job. Since they are both quite competent, I have every
confidence that this office will be left in good hands.
In service,
Havoise de Rohan

Chronicler/Historian: Talia, present, written report.
Greetings to Their Excellencies, Officers & Populace,
The December Plume was posted earlier this month. Thank you to those who send in your reports, it makes taking notes in
council a whole lot easier. Just a reminder that if you want to contribute to the Plume to please get it to me as soon as possi-
ble.
The previous historian has been finding additional items that were in her storage that are being passed down to me. This
includes a poster of a beautiful scribed record of all of the Kings, Queens, Prince, and Princesses of the Known World for the
first 22 years of the Society. If anyone has any suggestions on how to display this item I would love to hear about it!

Greetings!
First I want to apologize for the lack of a report last month... I was simply overwhelmed with things to do and it completely slipped
my mind... mea culpa!
I will not be present for council, here is my report:
Archery practice is in full swing at the new Trackers Earth facility near Sellwood. Attendance has been strong and he range is
FANTASTIC! We are able to practice at close range, and with a little creative management even shoot full Royal Rounds... shoot-
ing Royal Rounds in doors in the winter is, to say the least, a treasure...and there is no cost to the Barony for this. Part of the
agreement we have with Trackers Earth, which gives us the access to the range, was to make bow strings for them and assist with
improvements to the range, to that end the Archery Guild has produced 2 dozen bow strings for Trackers Earth, and numerous
archers have assisted with range improvements...i'd like to publicly thank the following...in no particular order.

Open Offices: Event Coordinator, Demo Coordinator, Dance Master, Youth Marshal, Chatelaine, Chamberlain
Chatelaine -
I , Kattera Giese would like to apply for the position of Chatelaine for the Barony Of Three Mountains.
I feel I can be an asset in the position due to my interest in helping newcomers and my ability to appreciate that every member
sees the *dream * differently while we are all working toward a similar experience.
The skills I have that I feel will help me in the position are:
an ability to work with a wide range of people from wildly differentiating backgrounds and interests
a genuine interest in all areas of the SCA ( although maybe to different degrees)
an ability to find and tap into a variety of resource people for guidance
an understanding of some of the difficulties new people and imports have finding their niche and understanding our culture
I have fulfilled the junior officer position of Chamberlain for the Barony for the past couple of years and feel I have performed admi-rably if not always as well as possible, and I feel that the skills I displayed in that position will translate well into the Chatelaine's Office. Should however another be chosen to fulfil this office I will continue to serve the Barony in what ever means the Barony
sees fit to use the talents I have.
Sincerely
Kattera Giese
Hannah Tobias has decided to not to apply for Chatelaine.
A & S Minister -
I would like to declare my intent to be Arts & Sciences Minister for the Barony of Three Mountains.
