4-H Motto: “To Make the Best Better” 4-H Slogan: “Learn by Doing”
Putting the 4-H’s in action
By Ally B.– Ms. Studdard’s Class,
Abney Elementary
How can we put the 4-H’s in action? Well let’s look at them. The first H is Head. We
can use our heads and think of others and ways you can help them in your com-
munity.
The second H is Heart, do a random acts of kindness like holding the door for
someone, or give someone a high five. Think of something you can do.
Third H is Hands, you can pick up trash around your neighborhood. All you need is
a trash bag, gloves and your parents.
The final H is for Health, donate to an animal shelter, hospital, etc. Do the best you
can do to make everybody feel better.
What happens in 4-H Meetings?
By Hannah D– Ms. Sanders’ Class
New Georgia Elementary
The last meeting the New Georgia Elementary School had was fantastic! Wyatt L gave a
wonderful presentation about baseball he included particular players and Hall of Fame
Inductees. Chloe P. gave a presentation about Veterinarians. She had pictures and
facts to support it as well. I read the article from last month and another read the an-
nouncements. Megan C., our Community Service Chair counted all the pop-tabs, ink
cartridges and green slips. We had visitors come into our classroom which gave us
more points. We ended with the 4-H Pledge.
What is 4-H used for?
By Megan C.– Ms. Sanders’ Class
New Georgia Elementary
4-H is used for kids to learn to play a bigger role
In responsibility for their schools and community.
4-H helps people in need by turning in pop-tabs
and ink cartridges. Having everyone turn in com-
munity service shows team work from all of the
students while having a friendly competition be-
tween the 5th grade classes. So, if you like to help
people, then you can help by donating community
service items each month and help make a better
world.

4-H Contests
By Kenady W.– Ms. Thompson’s Class
Shelton Elementary
4-H gives kids opportunities to enter contest and win
prizes such as cash. 4-H recently just finished the Holi-
day Card Contest, participants had to draw a holiday
card and add something about 4-H on it. If your card
wins you can receive $50.00. The peanut butter sand-
wich is a super fun contest too. You must create a
unique sandwich that is tasty, but it is also judged on
Nutrition, appeal, creativity, recipe presentation and
taste. I believe that this is a fun way to become creative
young chef.
