4-H Camp Grant Walker Needs Your Ideas!
“Catch-phrase for Camp” Contest!
What’s a good theme for 4-H Summer Camp? Send us your most creative ideas for a
slogan -- in 7 words or less. To enable the campers once again to have more choice in
the design of their t-shirts, illustrations must accompany the phrase and will be part
of the contest. The contest is open to all 4-H Club members. The winning slogan will
be one that is brief and “catchy”, capturing the spirit of 4-H Camp Grant Walker. The
slogan will be used on all publicity for camp and on the camp T-shirt and the winner
will receive a monetary award. Think fast – the deadline is Friday, October 28,
2016!
Submissions must also include the following:
Full name and age of person submitting the slogan
Parish/4-H Club
Complete mailing address
Telephone number
Contest entries will be judged by the LAE4-HA Ways and Means Committee and the
4-H Camp Staff. After final selection, the winner will be notified and asked to sign a
release for the slogan to be used in all publicity for the camp as well as on the T-shirt.
Both the 4-H’er and parent/guardian must sign the release.

Junior Leaders are
“Bringin’ it Home to
Calcasieu”
Our Junior Leader Club is
gearing up for an exciting new
year and would like you to join!
Junior Leaders have the
opportunity to meet new people
from across the parish, be a role
model for younger 4-H members
and spend a week on the LSU
campus competing and making
friends.
Four-H members who are 13
and over are eligible to become
members. The next meeting of
the Junior Leadership Club will
be held October 4, 2016 at 6:00
p.m. at the 4-H Office.
While you are a member of your school’s 4-H club, you can also participate in project clubs
that are a part of our parish 4-H program. Project clubs are groups that conduct all of their
activities in one project area. If any of these project areas interest you, come be a part of the
fun. You’ll learn more about the project area, get to participate in 4-H activities outside of your
regular school club and make new friends who have the same interests as you do.
