An opportunity has arisen for an individual to take on the role of Nurse Consultant for Early Intervention within Fife Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service.

Reporting directly to the CAMHS Clinical Services Manager, you will join the Fife CAMHS management team and lead Fife CAMHS in their partnership with Universal & Additional children’s service providers. You will develop and promote Fife CAMHS early intervention initiatives in order to meet the emotional and mental wellbeing needs of children and young people across Fife.

The successful candidate will manage both the Fife CAMHS Primary Mental Health Worker service and Playfield Institute. Through these services and by working closely with partners in child psychology, education, children services and social work, the post holder will have a remit of building capacity and capability within universal and additional service providers and improving access to emotional and mental health support for children and young people in Fife.

You will have close links with academic institutions and be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise, gained through extensive experience within a Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service. The post holder will also be required to promote the nursing role within multi-disciplinary settings, to act as a role model and to demonstrate advanced nursing practice through leadership and research.

Applications are invited from appropriately qualified and experienced Mental Health Nurses who are able to work autonomously and responsively within this exciting, evolving and challenging environment.

The NHS Fife Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) Programme is an evidenced based behaviour change programme designed to support first-time young parents. It is a nurse-delivered, intensive, home-based service aimed at• Improving pregnancy outcomes;• Improving child health and development and future school readiness and achievement; and• Improving parents’ self-sufficiency.The programme is delivered under licence and is based on the theories of human ecology, attachment and self-efficacy, originating from over 35 years of development and three large research trials by Professor David Olds and his team at the University of Colorado USA.

In line with the Scottish Government’s Programme for Government, NHS Fife FNP service requires a third team to deliver a service to all eligible women across Fife and we are recruiting Family Nurses to support a Fife wide service.

The Family Nurse is responsible for developing therapeutic relationships with the clients and work intensively with complex family situations to achieve the outcomes of the FNP programme by delivering the FNP Intensive home visiting programme using the licensed materials to achieve maximum outcomes for this client group.

The Family Nurse will be the Named Person for the child until they graduate from the programme.

An essential element of this post is the ability to attend mandatory residential training from 3rd September 2018 – 7th September 2018 in Stirling. Further mandatory training will take place throughout 2018 and 2019.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th July 2018.

As part of the FNP License requirements all potential candidates will be interviewed by services users. Services user interviews will take place on the 18th of July, with formal interviews on the 19th July.

The Gynaecology Infertility Service currently have an exciting opportunity for a Infertility Specialist Nurse, Band 7, working within the Gynaecology Service at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy and QMH Hospital Dunfermline, to work within the Infertility multidisciplinary team inpatient/outpatient service and to Lead and support in nurse led / triage / patient pathway management.

If successful you would be joining a well-motivated and dynamic Infertility team, who strive to deliver the highest level of patient centered at all times.

You are required to have extensive experience in Infertility, a team player with good written and oral communication skills. You will be expected to be accountable for care delivery, and take the lead in Nurse led developments working well individually and also as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.

You will have to show a genuine interest in caring for all Infertility patients and Partners.

Evidence of Continuing Professional Development educated to degree level or equivalent with additional extended skills and experience and with effective leadership skills are essential.

You will support the medical team but also be integral in the nursing leadership role and the shift pattern will be as the Directorate demands require.

We are seeking to recruit to this challenging post in our 23 bedded Orthopaedic Trauma /Vascular ward at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. At present Ward 33 is a joint Orthopaedic trauma and Vascular ward but the Vascular service is relocating to NHS Tayside in the near future. The post holder will be highly motivated to work with the relevant stakeholders during this transition period.

You should have a commitment to orthopaedic surgery, patient centred care and supporting effective team working. You will be providing clinical leadership, managing the nursing team and have a pivotal role in driving forward models of care. You will be expected to ensure safe and effective care that enhances the patient experience and contributes to the delivery of the organisation's objectives. A minimum of post registration experience at charge nurse level within an acute clinical setting is required and you must be able to demonstrate expert clinical and theoretical knowledge.

You will be predominately Monday to Friday and work occasionally either Saturday or Sunday when rostered as the Planned Care Duty co-ordinator.

Applicants should possess the skills and competencies associated with at least five years post registration experience with essentially three years within Orthopaedic surgery. They must also have proven managerial experience. You should be educated to or working towards a nursing degree.

As the Senior Charge Nurse, you will be committed to continuous professional development and possess excellent communication and organisational skills. As an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced Nurse you will provide strong clinical and practical leadership to the Nursing Team, whilst promoting partnership with the multi disciplinary team

We are looking to an experienced Registered nurse to lead our Pre-assessment Unit service. You will be an expert clinical practitioner responsible for providing advanced clinical skills in our Pre-assessment unit which covers a wide range of surgical elective services.

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner is an autonomous practitioner who will, work closely with other Nurse Practitioner colleagues, Consultant Anaesthetists and Surgeons in managing waiting list patients attending for elective surgical and orthopaedic procedures. The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will carry out a comprehensive medical assessment and manage the ongoing medical needs of elective patients to facilitate planned admission for surgery.

The purpose of this role is to assess and then optimise the health of patient’s pre operatively, liaise and plan admission with the surgical elective admission lounge, wards and theatre and commence the discharge planning.

You will have experience in managing safe, effective treatment and care. This will involve working across professional and organisational boundaries in partnership with others including acute and primary care nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals and senior management teams. They will provide direct patient management in partnership with senior medical staff, have sound clinical knowledge and highly developed clinical decision-making skills in acute care. All applicants should possess the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads, work across professional boundaries and be flexible in an extremely busy environment.

As Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will be committed to continuous professional development and possess excellent communication and organisational skills. As an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced Nurse you will provide strong clinical and practical leadership to the Nursing Team, whilst promoting partnership with the multi disciplinary team

Applicants must be in possession of a minimum of a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Practice. Possession of a Masters qualification or a willingness to work towards is desirable however, the ability to demonstrate Masters level thinking is essential.

Applicants should have post registration experience within an acute setting and possess excellent communication skills. We are looking to welcome a new colleague to join an enthusiastic, motivated and supportive team of 11 Consultant Emergency Physicians (10.85 WTE).

You will work in the Emergency Department at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, which opened in 2012. The department has an annual attendance of 65 000.

As an EM consultant group we believe strongly in providing a sustainable work/life balance. A PA is included for each on call. Clinical administration time has been factored in as per RCEM guidance. The DCC:SPA split will be 8:2. There is a 24 hour middle grade rota with no gaps.

We perform well in key areas such as sepsis, stroke thrombolysis and compliance with the 4 hour target. We have an excellent relationship and collaborate closely with all in-patient teams. As a department we are committed to teaching and providing a positive experience of EM to our junior doctors. Our trainees rate their experiences in Fife highly and this is recognised regionally and in GMC surveys.

The department provides a comprehensive pathology service to Fife (population 360,000). The department has undergone comprehensive refurbishment and expansion in order to relocate Cytology and Histopathology onto a single site. Concomitantly a new mortuary has been constructed to support the relocation of all acute activity at the Victoria site. The Victoria hospital has undergone considerable expansion by a PFI project whose capital requirement is in excess of £170 m with the new hospital having opened in January 2012. The department has a large and varied workload with an annual throughput of 24,000 surgical specimens, 26,000 gynae cytology, 1,400 diagnostic cytology specimens and 200 autopsies.

You will join a team of 7 other NHS Consultants. The role includes reporting all aspects of histopathology with the scope to develop an area of special interest. Participation in the autopsy service and diagnostic/cervical cytology service would be desirable.

You should hold the FRCPath or equivalent qualification. You must be on the specialist register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a certificate of completion of training (CCT) or certificate of eligibility of specialist registration (CP) at the time of interview for the post.

The emphasis will lie with neuro-developmental disorders such as ADHD and ASD. The ADHD part of the post is part of a changed provision of medical input into a well established ADHD pathway. A significant number of young people supported in our service also have ASD with or without other comorbid difficulties, e.g. anxiety or ADHD. The medical supervision is provided by a consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. You will be part of a team of doctors, nurses including nurse prescribers and psychologists. There is no on-call requirement but contributing to emergency response during normal working hours is expected.

The department (Fife CAMHS) includes a core group of experienced and well qualified clinicians from a number of disciplines, including, Psychiatry, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Dietetics and Child Psychotherapy. You will join an established team of four Consultant Psychiatrists, one core trainee and one Higher trainee from the Edinburgh training scheme.

The ADHD provision in Fife is a joint pathway provided by Community Paediatrics, Child Health and CAMHS with a distinction between a Tier 2, where patients are being seen by community paediatricians and Tier 3, which is provided by a specialist team consisting of paediatric nurses, clinical psychologists and psychiatric doctors. The Tier 3 service provides care for young people with complex and or co-morbid ADHD presentations. In addition, some young people with ADHD, who have complex mental health needs, are also seen within the generic Fife CAMH services.

This CAMHS post will be primarily based within the ADHD Tier 3 service (6 sessions) with 3 sessions focussing on wider neuro-developmental disorders and 1 SPA session. The main base will be in West Fife with clinics being delivered in Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy.

The establishment in 2005 of the Playfield Institute as a resource for skills development, research and the provision of information, has opened up new

The opportunity has arisen for Specialty Doctors to join our enthusiastic, motivated and supportive Emergency Department team at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. The new unit opened in 2012 and has an annual attendance of 65000.

These well established posts support the provision of high quality patient care within the Emergency Department. It is aimed at clinicians who have completed at least four years postgraduate training at least two of which will be in a relevant specialty. Specialty Doctors will work alongside Specialty trainees in Emergency Medicine from the South East Scotland training rotation. You will work at a middle grade level on a rota which provides 24 hour middle grade cover for the department under consultant supervision. The rota will include overnight and weekend work.

The post attracts 10 PAs of which 8 will be Direct Clinical Care and 2 will be for ongoing Continuing Professional Development. These PAs can be used flexibly for ongoing training and development. Development and maintenance of a portfolio is essential.

Specialty doctors will be involved in the initial assessment and management of patients attending the emergency department, and in supervising and supporting FY2s and GPSTs in patient management. This will involve work in all areas of the department. We have opportunities for Consultants to join our friendly Radiology team in Fife. The team are based within Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy and Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline You will have the opportunity to influence the future of the service in NHS Fife. There is a strong emphasis on providing a sustainable work/life balance and we are keen to consider flexible working options, including off site working as we develop an extended hours service. The posts include a commitment to a 1 in 10 prospective, or less onerous, on-call rota utilising teleradiology. Overnight CT scans are now outsourced to a ‘night-hawk’ service.

You should be proficient in cross sectional imaging and development of sub-specialist interests will be encouraged as part of our commitment to innovation and excellence.

NHS Fife has a rolling plan for equipment replacement. Present imaging facilities include: two 1.5T MRI scanners, Three CT scanners (128 slice), three fluoroscopy suites, 7 (non obstetric) ultrasound scanners, one state-of-the-art intervention room and separate units for breast and nuclear medicine.

Postgraduate and undergraduate teaching is strongly encouraged, with established links with St Andrews, Edinburgh and Dundee Universities. We have a strong commitment to radiology trainees from the South East Scotland training programme. NHS Fife has a proactive Research and Development team who are committed to supporting research with established links with St Andrews and Dundee Universities.

As part of the Trauma and Orthopedic Services, NHS Fife wishes to appoint a GPwSI to cover maternity leave with a view to permanent hours thereafter. This post will complement the existing consultant sub-specialty interests. You will be expected to work in predominantly shoulder and knee clinics within the setting of a District General Hospital. The Department has a strong record in research as well as links with Edinburgh and St Andrews Universities. The candidate will join a team of 14 Consultants and one GPwSI.

We serve a catchment area with a population of 380,000 across Fife. Clinical activity takes place at Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline, Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, Adamson Hospital Cupar, and St Andrews Memorial Hospital.

The directorate provides out-patient clinics, trauma and elective surgery for adult and paediatric patients throughout the Fife area. There are currently 6 teams with consultants providing general orthopaedic services plus specialist care in major joint replacement and reconstruction, arthroscopy, and upper and lower limb surgery.

You should be able to evidence experience in assessing and managing patients with musculoskeletal problems.
