Following the secondment of the current Lead Nurse, an excellent secondment opportunity has arisen for a registered Nurse who has leadership and management experience and a proven track record in change management and service redesign to be involved in how we will develop nursing services within a varied specialist team which includes Sexual Health & BBV Services, Rheumatology Services and Gender Based Violence Services.  This post will be for 6 months

This post offers an exciting opportunity for a nurse, with a keen interest in continence care to lead the NHS Fife continence service to enhance care and develop new and existing services.

The Team Leader Continence Service role will oversee delivery of continence care to service users such as comprehensive continence assessments, coordinating the management of continence problems and have the oversight of the provision of continence products across Fife. The role involves working in partnership across primary care in the H&SCP whilst maintaining strong links within the acute division such as urology and gynaecology specialist nursing services. The role involves supporting a wide range staff with education and training as well as leading and managing the continence team. This includes working collaboratively with agencies and organisations outside the NHS such as council staff and privately owned Nursing and Care Homes.

You should have significant experience supporting patients to manage continence, have excellent communication skills and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a wider team.

You must also have the ability to travel throughout Fife.

A Rewarding opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Neurology Service in Fife to develop and support Motor Neurone Disease (MND).  The MND service for Fife has been a shared post with NHS Forth Valley over the last 3 years, however the case load and service development supports a Fife based MND Clinical Nurse Specialist. This role compliments the role of Consultant Neurologist and the Specialist Nurses within the Neurology Service by providing expertise to those patients in outpatient, inpatient and community settings who are faced with a diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease. We are looking for a dedicated individual and professional to develop, implement and evaluate practical interventions to improve the quality of life for people affected by MND. The service provides specialist advice, information, support and education for people their family and carers within their home and within the clinical setting, who have a diagnosis of MND. The post holder should have the ability to commit to focused work on improvement to MND care through research and strategic themes of transformational care.You will be an experienced first level registered nurse with relevant post registration experience. Evidence of ongoing professional development and be able to demonstrate relevant clinical experience. You should have proven experience and interest in Neurology/Palliative and/or MND and knowledge and ability to work at an advanced level within a multidisciplinary team approach to manage and support of palliative conditions. The post holder will have the necessary skills and responsibility to respond to this rapidly progressive disease, and act upon the clinical needs of the client group. You will be required to work with the lead Consultant Neurologist, implement and monitor standards of care, practice guidelines, policies, protocols and care pathways as they relate to Motor Neurone Disease. You are also required to contribute to the strategic plan to improve and develop Motor Neurone Disease Services in Scotland. Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, decision making, advanced clinical skills, organisation and analytical skills are considered essential.  The ability to travel throughout Fife and be flexible to manage a case load and prioritise workload is essential.

You should have a commitment to patient centred care and support of people with learning disabilities and forensic needs. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward thinking Registered Nurse who is keen to enhance and develop their senior management skills, discharge planning and leadership qualities to support the Senior Charge Nurse within ward 13.

Ward 13 is the transition to discharge ward which focuses on patient centred discharge planning and anticipated health care needs. It is a busy 26 bedded ward which cares for a variety of patients progressing towards discharge which requires the post holder to have enhanced organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. The post holder will be required to support the SCN to deliver safe and effective care that enhances the patient experience and contributes to the delivery of the organisation's objectives. The post holder is expected to help the patient transition of care from an acute hospital environment to a community placement or patients home. The ability to Liaise effectively with the patient, their family and the multidisciplinary community team ensuring effective identification of patient pathways and destination of care is reached in a safe and timely manner.

The Charge Nurse needs to be clinically experienced but also have the knowledge and ability to support the SCN in the management of the ward including staff management. The candidate should have a commitment to acute medicine of the elderly, patient centred care and supporting effective team working. You must demonstrate understanding of the complexities and challenges within discharge arrangements whilst meeting the needs of frail older people and being able to support a multi-disciplinary approach to discharge planning to ensure safe and effective discharge for our patients, as well as preventing re-admission. You will work in this highly rewarding area, within a clinical team that value patient safety and the delivery of safe and effective, patient centred care. An opportunity has arisen for three individuals to take on the role of Primary Mental Health Workers within Fife Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service.

CAMHS Primary Mental Health Workers (PMHW) is an initiative within Fife CAMHS which seeks to compliment the current provision for children and young people with mental health difficulties. The main emphasis of the team will be to provide early-stage mental health assessment and interventions through liaison, consultation, supervision and training to primary care professionals. PMHW’s will also provide direct and collaborative clinical interventions with children and young people whilst seeking to enable community and primary care-based professionals to effectively recognise children and young people's strengths and difficulties and the impact on mental wellbeing.

The Primary Mental Health Workers will be responsible for delivering these key functions whilst assisting the team leader in developing the service in collaboration with the existing CAMHS teams and primary care partners.

In order to fulfil this role you will be confident in providing consultation, supervision and training to primary care professionals and other agencies who are engaged with children and young people in Fife. You will have skills in delivering effective training packages and will be able to provide direct input to children and families through group interventions or individual assessment and treatment to those who present with mild to moderate mental health difficulties across Fife. An essential component of this role will be the ability to develop effective relationships across agencies to ensure a partnership approach to care.

The Primary Mental Health Worker is responsible for delivering these key functions whilst assisting the nurse consultant in developing this service in collaboration with the existing CAMHS teams and primary care partners.

In order to fulfil this role you will be confident in providing consultation, supervision and training to primary care professionals and other agencies who are engaged with children and young people in Fife. An Opportunity has arisen for a staff nurse with a keen interest in cardiology to join the nursing team on ward 21(CCU)/ward 23. While experience in cardiology would be advantageous it is not essential.

You will rotate across the cardiology floor between ward 21(CCU) and ward 23. Ward 21 is an 8 bedded Cardiac Care Unit with telemetry. We care for patients with a wide variety of acute cardiac conditions from Myocardial Infarction, cardiac arrthymias and heart failure as well as providing a GP assessment service Monday to Friday. Ward 23 is fast paced acute cardiology ward with 26 beds which also includes a mix of medical patients with a wide range of general medical conditions.

You will be expected to undergo training in all aspects of cardiac nursing and show commitment to study. This post is 37.5hrs a week with internal rotation dayshift and nightshift.

The successful candidate will have proven physiotherapy skills in a variety of clinical settings, and will demonstrate sound clinical reasoning skill. Some experience working with chronic pain patients would be desirable but is not essential if you can demonstrate your transferrable skills and willingness to learn. Excellent skills in communication, presentation and motivation are all essential for the delivery of our pain management programmes.

You are invited to apply for the post of Specialty Doctor in General Surgery. This post is based at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, with a commitment to Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. The post holder will participate in a rota along with Registrars and other Specialty Doctors. Apart from clinical work which will be in one of the surgical teams (General & Colorectal or General & Upper GI), an important component of the job will be that there will potential to participate in audits; projects and this will help in boosting the academic aspect of your portfolio.

All surgical inpatient activity including surgical emergency admissions and trauma takes place in Victoria Hospital. The successful applicant will participate in a 1 in 9 Full Shift rota covering General Surgery as well as Emergency General Surgery. The rota is compliant, which has been regularly monitored.

NHS Fife offers this programme to all new Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professions including bank staff. The programme is hosted across three locations and is facilitated by nursing and midwifery Practice Education Facilitators (PEF) and the AHP Practice Education Lead (PEL).

The 4 NQP workshops are based around the NHS Education for Scotland pillars of practice and include reflection, PEF/PEL support, speakers, peer support, identifying the NQP’s need for future learning and development and a short information session regarding Flying Start.

Attendance will support your Personal Development Plan/Turas Appraisal and progression through the Knowledge and Skills Foundation (KSF) initial gateway.

The Practice is based within Kirkcaldy Health Centre and conveniently situated next to Victoria Hospital and Whyteman’s Brae Hospital. Our current list size is approximately 7300. The Practice is paper-light and uses Vision and Docman.

The Practice has 4 GP Partners, 1 salaried GP, 1 Associate Nurse Partner, 1 Specialist Practice Nurse, 1 Practice Nurse and a hard-working team of 12 admin staff. We pride ourselves on providing excellent patient care at all times and work hard to offer a wide range of services to suit the needs of our patients.

MATERNITY LOCUM GP

Millhill Surgery is based in the historic town of Dunfermline with easy access to the motorways to Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

We work from purpose built premises. We are looking to recruit a GP to cover maternity leave from the beginning of January 2019 until the end of August 2019. These dates are negotiable and the post has the potential to be extended. The GP going on leave covers 8 sessions per week over 4 days.

This position may offer newly qualified GPs an opportunity to work in a supported environment to experience regular work whilst also exploring other opportunities. Our list size is approximately 9000 using EMIS and Docman. We have advanced nurse practitioners seeing out minor illness who support our GPs who are on 15 minute appointments.

We are a friendly team and the doctors meet several times during the day informally which allows the opportunity for catch up and continued learning. Our community staff are based in the practice including pharmacists, midwives, district nurses and health visitors.

Practice teaches Aberdeen and St Andrews students regularly.

Crossgates Medical Practice is a friendly practice of approximately 4250 patients situated within the village of Crossgates. Crossgates is situated off the M90 and A92 and is easily commutable from both Edinburgh (about 25 minutes) and Perth.

The Practice is paper-light and uses Docman and the EMIS PCS Clinical system.

We are currently a two partner practice, with an additional one morning a week Locum, two Practice Nurses, a part time phlebotomist and six administration staff including the Practice Manager.

Due to the planned retirement of one of our Senior GP Partners, we are looking to recruit a permanent 4 sessions a week locum or a GP partner to the Practice for between 4-9 sessions a week. We will be looking at sustainability with a view to an extra partner or job share of current hours worked. We are a very friendly Practice, with loyal, hard-working staff and a good community feel. INVERKEITHING MEDICAL GROUP - FIFEGP MATERNITY LOCUM UP TO 9 SESSIONS AVAILABLE PER WEEK (£220 per session)

We are looking for Locum cover for up to 9 sessions per week to cover maternity leave for 9 months, commencing November 2019. We are willing to discuss flexible sessions/days.

You will be working with a highly motivated and enthusiastic group of GPs. We benefit from being a large Practice with a team of 9 GP Partners and 2 Salaried GPs. We employ an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Chronic Disease Nurses, a Practice Pharmacist, a Mental Health Counsellor and Health Care Support Workers to help with some of the work traditionally done by GPs. We have additional Health Board Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technician who deal with discharges and acute prescriptions. In the near future, we will have additional resources such as MSK Physiotherapy, Mental Health Triage Nurse and Advanced Nurse Practitioner. The Practice has an excellent administrative set-up and is highly organised and efficient.

We operate from two modern purpose-built premises in Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay and run a Consulting Room facility one day per week in Aberdour. There is easy parking in the area when out and about on house calls.

Our main Surgery, Inverkeithing, is situated just across the Queensferry Crossing and is approximately 25 minutes’ commute from central Edinburgh and within easy reach of Perth/Stirling.

Historically, we have achieved consistently high QOF points, the RCGP Quality Practice Award and have worked through Productive General Practice to ensure the Practice runs as efficiently as possible.

We are currently involved in Document Optimisation to reduce GP workflows.
