COMMUNION SUNDAY—FEBRUARY 13, 2011
The Nicaragua Team will be commissioned on Sunday, Feb. 6, during the sec-ond service. Team members are: Doug and Missy Roberts, Rebecca, Turner, and Katherine Bonham, Tami, Shelby and Kenley Green, Terry and Abbey Stoker, Kendal Shaffer, Elizabeth Hancock, Tim Hanley, Sonny Owen, Roger Cogswell, Poochie DeMars, Bland Mellette and Ralph Baker, Jr. Please be in prayer for this team as they seek to minister to the people of Nicaragua.
NICARAGUA TEAM COMMISSIONING:
Note from the Pastor: that God is the victory. I can overcome all of life’s pressures, problems, temptations, struggles, etc., through Jesus Christ. That is a great comfort and assurance in the difficult moments of life. These are two great verses to com-mit to memory and to share with ourselves and others in times of personal crisis. The events in Egypt are a con-stant reminder that we live in a world engaged in spiritual war-fare. For those of us who have traveled to Egypt and have Egyp-tian friends, we are very con-
cerned. We also need to be in prayer for our Nicaragua team who will be commissioned this Sunday and leave the next week. Construction has finally begun on Phase 2. We will update you on the details and the timeline in the coming days. I hope you all have a wonderful week.
—Dan
“You are from God, little chil-dren, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you that he who is in the world.”
—I John 4:4
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”
—I John 5:4
I love these two verses. I need to be reminded on a regular basis

YOUTH GROUP STUDY—RELATIONSHIPS 101 BEGINNING SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 20 @ 5:00 PM
On Feb. 20, during Youth Group, we will start a series entitled, Relationships 101. I hope this will be a great time to explore God's intention for relationships, and all the related issues. I realize this can be a sensitive topic, but I think it is one where Christians are often too silent. Parents, I will send out the content of the messages at least a week ahead (you may want to double check to make sure I have your email address) so we can all be on the
same page. If anyone has any questions about how things will be presented, feel free to let me know. Thanks for your partnership in ministry! —Jack

ALL IN THE FAMILY Didja’ know that the church has a prayer list that goes out on the computer each week? For those of you who don’t have a computer, I always have copies of the prayer list on the name tag table on Sunday mornings. If you, or a family member or friend are ill or experiencing pain or difficulties, just call the church office, or send us an e-mail, and we will put them on the prayer list. The prayer list also has a listing of our expectant mothers and the missionaries that the church supports. There is lots of information there to help you in your prayer time. And if you visit a homebound person, be sure to get a copy of the list for them … I feel that God gives a special ministry of prayer to the homebound! Did you see the VBS table set up outside of the Nursery? There are places for you to sign up to help in this won-derful annual undertaking! Actually, we cannot do it without you and the high school kid’s help! Also, if you would like to contribute money to purchase age appropriate bibles that we give to the children who do not have bi-bles, come talk with me. It is one of my favorite parts of VBS, seeing Dan sitting with each of these little children and telling them about God’s word that they will have for their very own! This week we are praising God and celebrating 30 years of marriage for Debbie and Johnny Strait! Hooray!
—Helen

Children’s Worship Schedule for Teachers/Helpers
9:15 AM Sunday—School Schedule for Teachers/Helpers:
First Touch Ministries:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” —Mark 12:30 February is a month when we think about love, and we should remember that Jesus is our first Love. No one loves us more than He does, and we should love Him more than anyone or anything else. This verse reminds us of that, and it is the verse that we will be ‘hiding in our
hearts’ this month. I am so proud of all our TREASURE SEEKERZ! Last Sunday, over 20 children recited their verse to me. That is awe-some. And a correction about our SERVICE project: we raised over $100 for the children in Nicaragua, and we will send new school supplies for them. “Way to go” to all of you who turned in your banks to help us share the love of Jesus with others! Ms. Meems will soon start practice for our spring musical. Mark your calendars for April 3rd. It’s going to be great time for us to worship God as we perform for Him. And VBS is the week of July 10th. There is a sign up sheet in the lobby for adults who want to help. Hope to see you all Sunday morning, and at the Super Bowl game that afternoon. —Mrs. Jackie
