InfoView & the Book of Business

What is InfoView?

• InfoView is a tool within MiSACWIS that allows end users to generate county and agency based reports

▪ The data warehouse portal is a hyperlink located at the top right corner of every MiSACWIS screen

▪ Once granted access to InfoView, a user is automatically signed in when the portal hyperlink is selected

Who can use InfoView?

• MDHHS & PAFC staff

• User profile determines which reports are visible▪ FC workers only see FC reports

▪ PAFC workers only see reports within their agency

• Access form needs to be completed and submitted ▪ MDHHS employee: submit the MDHHS-127 to Application

Security (MDHHS_Application_Security@michigan.gov)

▪ Non-MDHHS employee: submit a MDHHS-815 to Application Security (MDHHS_Application_Security@michigan.gov)

What is in InfoView?

Report Data Criteria

What data is needed for each report?▪ Job Aid: Available Data Warehouse (DW) Reports

• Located on MiSACWIS Communications Website• Updated after each release

Child Protective Services Social Work Contacts Reports• CPS Commencement Contacts Report

▪ For the contact to count on the report, it has to have the following 3 criteria:• Commencement checkbox must be checked• Contact Occurred must be ‘yes’• Contact status can be anything

• CPS Face to Face Contacts Report (Investigation)▪ For the contact to count on the report, it has to have the following 5 criteria:

• Contact Type: case contact• Contact Method: face to face• Contact includes worker and child victim• Contact Occurred must be ‘yes’• Contact status can be anything

Report Data Criteria

Foster Care Social Work Contacts Reports• FC SWC Worker/Child Report

▪ For a contact to count on the report, it has to have the following 7 criteria:• Contact Method: face to face• Contact Type: case contact• Contact includes worker and child(ren)• Contact occurred at placement location

– Relative's house– Foster Home – Parental home– Residential Placement– Independent Living – Adoptive home– Detention– Hospital– Jail

• Contact marked as private• Contact Occurred must be ‘yes’• Contact status can be anything

Report Data Criteria

FC SWC Worker/Supervisor Report• For a contact to count on the report, it has to have the following 4

criteria:▪ Contact Method: face to face▪ Contact Type: supervision▪ Contact Occurred must be “yes”▪ Contact must include the primary worker and a supervisor

FC SWC Worker/Parent Report• For a contact to count on the report, it has to have the following 5

criteria:▪ Contact Method: face to face (incarcerated parent can be any method)▪ Contact Type: case contact▪ Contact occurred must be “yes”▪ Contact must include the worker and the participating parent▪ Contact status can be anything

What are known issues? Issues and defects that have been reported. Users must call the MiSACWIS Help Desk

• Child Protective Services▪ The CPS Face to Face report is currently including

Category V cases

▪ The CPS Face to Face report is currently not counting initial face to face contacts when made by Law Enforcement in the SOP period

Known Issues

• Foster Care▪ In the CFC reports and BOB, there have been reports of

children not appearing, even when they have been appropriately assigned.

▪ On October 1st, there was a policy change to replace the return home within 21 day policy with the return home within 7 day policy. These updates have not been incorporated into InfoView reporting.

▪ CI 17-127 Medical/Dental Examinations for Child Returned to Parent was issued on 09/25/17. These updates have not been incorporated into InfoView reporting.

Key Notes About InfoView

By County Versus By Agency Reports• Foundation for county reports is the responsible county

identified in MiSACWIS

• Responsible county will always be MDHHS

• Staff who want to see all cases that their county is responsible for, regardless of who directly manages them, would select the county report

• If a case is directly managed by a PAFC, the county report will first look for a MDHHS primary worker and when one is not found, then the report will look for the POS monitor

By County Versus By Agency Reports• Foundation for agency reports is the assigned primary

worker

• Regardless if the worker is MDHHS or PAFC

• MDHHS staff who want to generate a report representative of only direct care cases, should select agency report

• PAFC staff are only able to generate agency reports where their staff is the primary worker assigned

Key Notes About InfoView

All reports look for the primary worker assigned on the work due date

▪ If a primary worker is not assigned on the due date, then the reports will assign the work to the Improperly Assigned Worker

▪ If a qualifying contact is made by a previously assigned primary worker, the contact will count for the primary worker assigned on the due date

• Qualifying workers vary by report; please see the ‘Available DW Reports’ Job Aid for more detail

Key Notes About InfoView

The Navigation Map exists to aid the user in selecting the desired report level: state, county, district, section, supervisor, worker

• Staff within the Navigation Map hierarchy is specific to the work due during the report period entered▪ Staff who do not have work due during the period

will not appear in the hierarchy

• Employee assignments are based on the employee job record in MiSACWIS

Key Notes About InfoView

• It’s best practice to select reporting periods that span the entire month

• Reports can be saved, exported and printed• Reports can have many pages; however, the Data

Dictionary exists on the last page▪ Provides purpose and basic information about the

report

• InfoView releases on a monthly basis. The release can include new reports and/or defect fixes▪ Release Notes located on MiSACWIS Communications

The Book of Business (BOB)

• The Book of Business is a report in InfoView• It is a one stop shop to view caseload and specific

work due▪ Displays current month, previous month and next

month

• The purpose is to provide a visual look at current and upcoming caseworker activities

• Users are able to set their preferences to where the BOB immediately displays upon opening InfoView▪ Job Aid located on MiSACWIS Communications

The Book of Business (BOB)

• BOB is currently available for CPS and FC workers, POS Monitors, POS Supervisors, as well as CPS and FC first line supervisors• Foundation of the BOB is the assigned primary worker

• Future enhancements include making this tool available for Adoption workers and other management

• When preferences are not set, the BOB is located in the corresponding business folder▪ CPS worker will find their BOB in the Protective

CPS Book of Business

CPS differs from FC in that the worker’s entire

caseload does not appear. Only the cases that have

work due in the month selected will display.
