A word from the PresidentHi everyone!

If you are reading this, you can call yourself officially an AIESEC'er at AIESEC UA 15-16. Congratulations, and get ready for the crazi-est, most educational experience in your life! In order to guide you through this AIESEC year as a brand new AIESECer, we have de-veloped this member booklet. This booklet will give you a lot of information regarding the history of AIESEC, our departments, AIESEC conferences, what you will be able to learn at AIESEC UA, etc.

This booklet is a great start but of course, we can’t include everything about AIESEC, that would take a lot more than 32 pages. So, I strongly encourage you to talk to any of the VPs (Vice-President btw, you will learn more about abbreviations in this booklet) if you have any extra questions that you might want to ask.

A world of opportunitiesAIESEC has given me a lot of opportunities in the past (4!) years that I have been at this or-ganization and I have seized every one of them with my both hands. Now, I am confident that I am better prepared for the upcoming chal-lenges in my life when I graduate. I am also confident that I am a better leader than I was before I joined AIESEC.

Becoming a member at AIESEC UA is the first opportunity that you grabbed. Try to get as much as possible out of it as you can. And if possible, try out one of the other limitless ex-periences that AIESEC will offer you.

The role of an LCPAs president of AIESEC UA, I have a wide range of various job responsibilities. First of all, I have the ultimate responsibility of eve-rything that happens in AIESEC, so I need to make sure that everything runs smoothly, that every AIESECer at AIESEC UA feels at home, that the Executive board is working together and fulfill tasks like they should be done, etc.

Secondly, I have to bring the strategic compo-nent within AIESEC UA, which ensures that we follow a path that is sustainable in order to grow as an organization.

Thirdly, I am also responsible for the commu-nication with the national level of AIESEC and the other student organizations in Antwerp, in order to make sure that we are all on the same level and confusions can be avoided. As presi-dent, you have a lot of things going on but if you enjoy it, it is a small effort.

Joining AIESEC UA has been one of the best choices of my life. Today, I, together with my ex-ecutive board, are ready to make it one of your best choices.

Welcome to AIESEC UA!

About AIESEC

AIESEC was founded after the second world war by students from Belgium, Denmark, Fin-land, France, Netherlands, Norway and Swe-den. Our fundamentals were shaped by the so-cial, economic and political climate of the time.Since then, the world has been changing faster

than ever before. We believe that young people hold the key to a better future and they must learn to adapt quickly to solve problems. This is why AIESEC strives to peace & fulfillment of humankind's potential.

In today’s context, ‘Peace’ does not exclusively meanavoiding war. Peace can symbolize a world that does not have conflicts that arise from cultural, religious, or other aspects of differences in humanity. Peace can also symbolize being in harmony with yourself. AIESEC strives to build a world where people can work towards their own understanding of peace, while re-specting and understanding the views of others.Through “Fulfillment of Humankind’s Potential, AIESEC strives for a world where people can be the best version of themselves.

Our Leadership Development ModelAIESEC’s leadership development model seeks to prepare youth to take a stand on what they care about and become capable to make a difference through their everyday actions. This is why

our answer is to develop the caracteristics below according to the largest world trends.

Cross-cultural exchangesAIESEC provides an opportunity for young people to work or volunteer abroad in non-familiar environments. This allows them to step outside their comfort zone and expand their worldview, while contributing to the com-munity in which they are working. Living such experiences enables people to build a better understanding on how to communicate and capitalize on divesity in our increasingly con-nected world.

Team experiencesAIESEC members work in teams to create and manage these cross-cultural exchange experi-ences. This provides an opportunity for our members to live powerful team experiences and develop their own leadership potential.

The OGX team is there to help these young people and give all guide-lines necessary to find that perfect internship or project. We start our flow with selling our programs during events and info sessions, we invite people to interviews to select the right AIESEC ambassadors to go abroad and we are in contact with AIESEC entities all over the world in order to find that one project that matches perfectly with our candidate. The External Relations Track (ER)The External Relations track is responsible for initiating partnerships with corporate partners. We can offer companies two broad programs: Campus Recruitment and Global Talent. With our Campus recruitment pro-gram we give our partners the possibility to attract young high potentials who are study-ing in Antwerp through our Job Fair, Job Alert, workshops,… The Global Talent program offers companies the chance to recruit young gradu-ates through our global network so they can expand their activities. Most partnerships start through cold calling and a first introduction meeting on site with corporate representatives to present AIESEC and to get to know the company’s needs. By working together with the company a proposal can be made and finally a contract is signed. Our partners range from start-ups to multina-tional. Every company has different needs and ER-members should derive those to create long-term sustainable partnerships.

We think about how to convey the message of our products in the most effec-tive way to students, companies or the general public. How can we best spread the AIESEC-message to our audience? We do this by using social media, email, press releases and other tools. This, combined with unique marketing designs, is what makes up our team! The Marketing team is responsible for the general management, design and struc-ture of the website you are looking at right now!
