Baseball and Softball Scoreboards

About a year and a half ago, former Beal City baseball coach Brad Antcliff re-

searched and initiated a movement to garner funding for new scoreboards on

the baseball and softball fields. Isabella Bank proudly and graciously donated

the scoreboards at a purchase price of approximately $23,500.

The Athletic Department would like to give a HUGE shout out to all the students, parents

and community members that helped with our fall, winter and spring sports for the 2016-17

school year. The reason our games, matches and meets run so smoothly is because we

have people like you who are willing to step up to the plate and help us out. We are con-

stantly receiving compliments from other schools on the how smooth and efficient our con-

tests run and the credit goes to you, the Beal City Community. So again, THANK YOU!!!!!!!

A combination of funds raised by the sports boosters, and baseball and softball

programs were used to purchase the installation materials needed for the pro-

ject. Assisting Beal City schools maintenance in the installation process with do-

nations of labor and/or equipment were Leon Cotter from Tilman Hardware, Ste-

ve and Chad Ley from Steve Ley Fencing, Ryan Fussman from Ryan Fussman Ma-

sonry, John Davis from John Davis Builders, and Brad Gross from Brad Gross Elec-

tric.

Beal City Spanish Classes attend Spanish Rock Concert

Our Spanish Classes had the opportunity to attend a rock concert at Clare High School on el

Cinco de Mayo. Emir Sensini played a number of songs that the students had been practicing

for the past month. They were able to sing in Spanish, participate in a tongue twister compe-

tition, dance off, and even show off their skills at soccer. Finally, they were treated to a great

lunch at the high school. We are hoping we have the opportunity to go again.

Attention 9th grade Students and Parents: 9th grade orientation will be Monday, Au-

gust 21st at 6:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria. Please plan to attend as you will receive very important

information about high school courses, graduation requirements, standardized testing and

much more!

Attention 7th grade Students and Parents: 7th grade orientation will be Monday, Au-

gust 28th at 6:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria. Please be in attendance to get your schedule, locker,

books and other important information before school starts.

Beal City Spanish Club Helps Big Brothers Big Sisters

Our Beal City Spanish Honor Society and Club, once again, participated in a bowl-a-thon in or-

der to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters. We competed against Sacred Heart in an effort

to raise money and awareness for this wonderful organization.

We raised over $500 for BBBS and won the school competition. We were also treated to games

and prizes at Riverwood. Next year, we are hoping to help out our community even more.

Thanks for all you do!

***Staff Member of the Month***

The Beal City Board of Education, in appreciation of the hard work

that is done by all members of Beal City Public Schools, would like to hon-

or one staff members each month for their service to the students and

community of Beal City. This month’s honoree is Amanda Gottschalk.

We would like to recognize Amanda for her hard work and dedication to the kids and staff in

the elementary school. Amanda is always willing to go above and beyond to help out wher-

ever she is needed, from covering the office, to riding the bus, to covering for her fellow

parapros. It doesn't go unnoticed! Thank you, Amanda!

Beal City Girls on the Run

What an incredible experience! The Beal City Girls on the Run program had a

great season. We learned how to challenge ourselves and support each oth-

er. We worked hard on setting goals and seeing them accomplished with an

end of season 5k run in Midland.

Our coaches, Julie Christensen and Alyssa Bowen, are so proud of these young

athletes. They are everything that makes Beal City the community to be

in. They are smart, kind and strong. We had a variety of activities and chal-

lenges and each of the participants stepped up and finished well.

A special thanks to: Maddison Blanshan, Madison Calkins, Faith Gardner, Jo-

hanna Hubble, Calaya Leonard, Allyson McBride, Gracelynn Owens, Lily

Recker, Grace Schuch and Riley Smith!!! You were all wonderful!
