Atlas Life Building 415 South Boston Courtyard by Marriott, New Atlas Grill, Tulsa Press Club, Deco Deli & Market This historic 12-story office building completed in 1922 is sandwiched between the Philtower and Mid-Continent Tower. At the top is an ornate cornice surmounted by a crouching statue of Atlas. The building is seven bays wide at the base, narrowing to three above the second floor to allow some separation from the taller buildings on either side. It was designed as an Inverted “T” to represent Tulsa. In 2010 it was converted to a hotel. Hosted by Courtyard by Marriott: 918-508-7400.

The 320 Boston Building 320 South Boston Avenue This beloved landmark building was designed to be a bank – and a mooring station for the most innovative form of travel in its day, the dirigible. The tower was also a beacon for weather alerts. During the 1960s either red or green lights would be beamed on the tower to

indicate various weather conditions. The building was originally home to the Exchange National Bank and was completed in 1928. It stood 10 stories tall and was the largest bank in Oklahoma. It was designed by George Winkler, who also designed the Mayo Hotel. In 1929, the building was expanded to its current height of 22 stories. The 320 Building is in the Neo-Classical style and is connected to the Kennedy Building by a tunnel under Boston Avenue. Hosted by 320 Boston, LLC (918-584-1414) and Hall Estill Attorneys at Law.

Mid-Continent Tower 401 South Boston Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the Mid-Continent Tower consists of two separate structures not actually in physical contact with each other. The first is the Mid-Continent Building, a 16-story structure on the west side of the complex, completed in 1918. The second is the Mid-Continent Tower, a 36-story structure built alongside and cantilevered over the original 16-story building. Both structures are freestanding, separated by six inches of space to permit each to sway, expand or contract independently. Hosted by Mid-Continent Tower, LLC, 918-699-0300.

201 Executive Center 201 West 5th Street Built in 1975, the 201 Executive Center is a six-story office building with large balconies located directly across from the Tulsa County Courthouse. Hosted by Switchgear Search and Recruiting and managed by KPM: 918-581-3100.

Hyatt Regency Hotel 100 East 2nd Street The Hyatt Regency Tulsa sits in the heart of Oklahoma’s most vibrant business, entertainment and cultural districts. The downtown Tulsa hotel overlooks the scenic gardens of the Williams Center Complex. Connected via sky-bridge to Williams Towers, the luxury high-rise hotel is adjacent to the Tulsa Performing Arts Center and just a few walking blocks from the Tulsa Convention Center and the BOK Center. Contact: 918-234-1234 or [email protected]

Mayo 420 410 South Main Street Originally five stories tall, this building was erected to house the Mayo furniture business. During the Oil Boom, the building was expanded to 10 stories, to be used as offices for oil barons. Today, it has been re-purposed yet again, offering luxury living in the heart of downtown Tulsa. Hosted by Wiggin Properties: 918-582-8100.

Aloft Tulsa Downtown & wxyz bar 200 Civic Center From the inside, the new Aloft hotel downtown looks like a mix of Mid-Century Modern and high-tech convenience with touches of industrial

style. From the outside, it looks a lot like the former City Hall. The building was built in 1969 and has historic preservation status. Contact: 918-947-8200.

BOK / Williams Tower One Williams CenterThe BOK Tower at One Williams Center is the crown jewel of Tulsa’s skyline. The 52-story tower was built in 1975 as headquarters for the Williams Companies. At a height of 677 feet, it was the tallest building in any of the five Plains States – Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota – as well as the surrounding states of Missouri, Arkansas and New Mexico, until surpassed by Oklahoma City’s Devon Tower in 2011. Designed by Minoru Yamasaki, the BOK Tower is similar in appearance and construction to New York City’s World Trade Center (WTC) towers, destroyed in the terrorist attack of 9/11/2001, which Yamasaki also designed. The BOK Tower has a quarter the footprint and stands at almost half the height of the original WTC towers. The BOK Tower structure comprises 14,750 tons of steel and 41,588 cubic yards of concrete. Managed by Williams Headquarters Building Company: 918-743-7788.

The Summit Club 15 W. 6th St.The Bank of America Tower currently stands as the second tallest International Style skyscraper in the city, behind the BOK Tower. Completed in 1967, the building is a key office tower in the Central Business District. Its penthouse tenant is The Summit Club,Tulsa’s premiere downtown business club. Founded in 1967, The Summit’s fundamental principles of superior quality in food, service and ambiance have held true through the years. The Summit Club is a private, non-profit organization supported by membership fees and dues. It is owned by its membership and guided by its Board of Directors. Bank of America Tower managed by KPM: 918-582-5243. Your host: The Summit Club.

The Philtower 427 S. Boston Ave. In many ways, the history of the Philtower mirrors the history of Tulsa itself. Just a few years away from its 90th Anniversary and poised to enter an exciting new period, Tulsa’s iconic Neo-Gothic skyscraper is situated at the hub of the city’s current and future growth, right in the heart of Downtown Tulsa’s Deco District. From its origins

in the Oil Boom of the 1920s to its central position in the local economy of the 1950s to its contemporary rejuvenation, the Philtower has developed and diversified along with the needs of the local community. Boasting terrazzo floors, brass fixtures and mahogany trim, all original to the building, the Philtower is a perfect marriage of historic charm with modern amenities – a place where residents and businesses alike feel at home. Managed by River City Development: 918-584-0331.

16 17

110 W. 7th St.Completed in 1971, this building was constructed to serve as the world headquarters of Cities Service Oil and Gas Corp. when the company moved its headquarters from the famous Cities Service Building in New York City. At one point, the building had 2,300 employees and the company was Tulsa’s largest private employer. The building was constructed in the International Style that matured after World War II. The style is characterized by a square or rectangular footprint, a cubic “extruded rectangle” form, windows running in broken rows to form a grid, and façade angles set at 90 degrees. The building is 388 feet tall and has 28 floors served by 11 elevators. Today it is home to a variety of businesses, including law firms and oil and gas companies. Managed by Prescott Realty Group: 918-295-6900.

The Mayo Hotel 115 W. 5th St.The Mayo Hotel opened in 1925 and at 19 stories was the tallest building in Oklahoma. Built to exceed the expectations of the most discriminating travelers, it boasted modern amenities of its time, including 600 rooms each with ceiling fans and Tulsa’s first running ice water. Architect George Winkler designed the building in the Sullivanesque style of the Chicago

School. The hotel was home to famous oilmen J. Paul Getty and Waite Phillips. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, it sat vacant for nearly 30 years. The Snyder family of Tulsa purchased the building in 2001, renovated the lobby and hosted events there until 2008. The Mayo Hotel re-opened its doors in late 2009 after a historic renovation restored the hotel to its original luster, with 102 hotel rooms, 76 luxury residences and event spaces. Contact: 918-582-6296. Thanks to you!
