MINISTRY TO THE SICK Please inform us when your loved one becomes hospitalized or ill to receive the anointing of the sick .

Listen carefully to the voice of the Lord; set your heart on what will last forever. We only fool ourselves if we believe that our possessions will bring us happiness and life. Instead, “grow rich in the sight of the Lord”.

GUESS WHO IS COMING TO DINNER WHAT: Parishioners gather to share a meal and good

company.

WHEN: 2nd Saturday of each month at 6:30pm, with December and July off. You ONLY participate when you’re able. After you register, we’ll set your dates. We’ll contact you again 1-2 weeks before a scheduled dinner to confirm.

WHERE: At the home of one of the hosts. If you’d like to host an evening, great! It works best if everyone takes a turn, hosting isn’t required to participate.

WHY: It’s a great way to connect with other parishioners. You might meet those folks you’ve seen in the same pew for years but have never actually met.

WHO: All adult parishioners (21+) are invited to participate – couples and singles are welcome. When Msgr. Lofton and Fr. Artur are available, they will join the group for dinner. If you would like to be part of GWCTD, please

register on our webpage- https://www.sttheresachurch.com

Fulfilled explores the biblical roots of the Catholic Faith. It uncovers God’s consistent design for our worship of him and his relationship with us. Learn how the Old Testament Tabernacle can be used as a blueprint for the Catholic Faith and how Jesus fulfilled it in the New Testament. Part One – Called into His Presence focuses on elements of the outer

sanctuary of the Tabernacle and how they connect to the liturgical calendar, the priesthood, purgatory, baptism, and more Classes will begin on 8/1/19 at 10am in the Meeting Center. There will be 7 sessions running until 09/12/19. Cost for Workbook: $20 Contact Pat McConnell, [email protected] or 843-906-2118

We just can’t say it enough! Thank you to John & Katie Harmke. They spent the better part of the day on Tuesday, July 23rd, sorting the cans for recycling and taking them to the center. Here’s a few words from Katie to make this process work better!

"It may not make sense to think about garbage as something that can become contaminated. It's already dirty, right? Well, in fact, when talking about

certain waste streams, such as aluminum beverage cans, which are redeemable for money, CLEAN applies.

Scrap yards can be very particular about the waste streams they accept for redemption. They can turn away waste for many reasons, such as not wanting to expose their employees to unnecessary risks like injuries, pests, and disease which can come from hand sorting contaminated waste.

As a reminder, the aluminum beverage cans the Parish collects for redemption must be clean of contaminants. They should be rinsed (this helps deter pests and rodents). They should be dropped off with no other items of household trash, including and most importantly, no pet food containers. Even rinsed and with labels removed pet food containers are not typically accepted for redemption. Also, please do not include plastic bottles or other metal food containers such as cans, foil roasting or baking pans, or aluminum foil. While recyclable in some municipalities, the above items are not typically sought by scrap yards seeking ferrous or non-ferrous metals for sale in the free market.

Your continued efforts to support our Parish ministries by donating clean aluminum beverage cans is appreciated!"
