TRIPOD

I used this camera as it is my own personal camera that I know how to use, I used the film setting to record footage for my title sequence and automatic mode to take the photos for my magazine and DVD cover, I used this setting as it would automatically set itself up to the best it can be for that environment.

I used a tripod to make sure my shots were level and the camera was steady whilst I was filming.

iMOVIE

Within Production I have used iMovie, I used this to put my film together, adding effects such as the transitions between slides, adding text for character names, adding music in the background and generally putting all the shots in an order for watching.

The above screenshot shows me using the technology within iMovie to add text to my movie, using the above technology I was able to choose how my text appeared on the screen

I was also able to choose the font and colours.

This screenshot shows how I’ve used technology to add the transitions between my shots I was able to use this tool and ‘drag’ the transition to where I want it to be.

I could then click on a settings menu to change how long I wanted my transition to last.

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP

I used photoshop to edit the background out of my photos this is so I could then add them to any background such as the backgrounds of my magazine and dvd cover. The above pictures show the transformation within my pictures.

The above screenshots show the tools I used, the quick selection tool allowed me to select big chunks of the background and then delete them, the screenshot on the left shows what happened when I used the tool to delete big sections of the background.

The lasso tool let me freely select bits of background to delete, I used this to get the smaller details such as the outline round their shoes.

MICROSOFT PUBLISHER

I used publisher to create both my magazine and DVD cover, this was because it was a program I am familiar with and know how to use and also because the tools on it are straight forward to use.

The above screen shots shows how I inserted ‘word art’ and ‘auto shapes’

When I click on word art it shows me what shape I want my writing and then I can edit the font size and style in the next stage. I can then drag it to where I want on the page.

When I click on auto shape I get a choice of what type of shape I want, when I click on the shape I can drag it to make it however big I want it to be then can edit the colour of it .

Word art was used throughout my production to add text to my work and word art makes it like ‘bubble writing’ which is a form of writing children like to use themselves. I used auto shapes to add the arrows, stars and smiley face as these features add more eye catching features to my magazine and DVD cover.
