Challenging The Way We Think and Live in the Coming Week

What we often forget is that if Jesus created the world (see Genesis 1:1; John 1:3; Colossians 1:15-17), not only are miracles possible, but miracles should be expected, because the biggest miracle has actually already happened.The miracle that I am referring to is the miracle of making something out of nothing. During last Sunday’s message at Resurrection Church we talked about Jesus’ first miracle found in the book of John chapter 2 verse 1-11.

Let me ask you this morning which is harder: for Jesus to take water and turn it into wine or for Jesus to take a handful of nothing and make water? Easy question to answer right? Obviously it’s a lot harder to make water out of nothing than to make wine out of water.

The full evidence of modern cosmology points directly toward a supernatural

Creator...God. And if you’ve got a God who can make something out of nothing, then it’s not a stretch to live in the truth that the other miracles of the Bible are truly child’s play for him.

While making 180 gallons of the best wine seems like a miracle to you and me it would never have happened had Mary not known exactly who Jesus was and had those servants not done faithfully what He had told them to do.

Remember for Jesus making the best wine out of dirty water is child’s play but for us living in the faith of who He is, is hard, real hard, it is a tall task and takes doing what He says to do when He says to do it.

Just maybe we should allow the real life example of Jesus to challenge the way we think and live in the coming week.
