Connotations

The black connotes sadness and depression. The song I picked isn’t upbeat and the music video has a sad narrative.

Black and white Basic. The song doesn’t

sound over produced. I didn’t want this album or the music video to look over produced as most indie music videos are low budget.

eye

I used the eye as it draws in the audience as it looks directly at you. Also I used an eye because they can convey feelings well. As this is a sad album I wanted to the eye to convey these feelings.

Veins

Veins convey tiredness and illness. The persons alcoholism in the music video is an illness.

Dead tree branches

The ‘veins’ are actually made up of tree branches. Trees connote nature. I wanted to convey how close we are to nature. Although we are these complex beings that drug our bodies to get over feelings of suffering fundamentally we are part of nature and just like nature we all die in the end (depressing I know.)
