Apprentices get rev’d up over concept MiniIT’S NOT every day as anapprentice you get to builda new concept car for youremployer.

However that is exactlywhat a lucky few traineesdid when BMW taskedthem to make their designstudy a reality.

Choosing the firm’s MiniPaceman as the donor car,talented apprentices trans-formed the vehicle into arugged two-door pick-up, a

long way from the originalmotor’s sleek coupe ori-gins.

And this was no superfi-cial cosmetic upgrade as,along with the car’s extraspotlights, chunky tyresand roof-mounted rack,the Paceman Adventureconcept gained a fullyfunctioning pick-up loadbed complete with a bash-proof lining, plus a snor-kel and raised suspension

to make use of its all-wheeldrive running gear.

In keeping with the car’soutdoor-theme, it was fin-ished in a rather fetchingshade of metallic green.

Despite the work done byits apprentices, BMW saidit has no plans to put thecar into production.

You’ll have to make dowith a regular Country-man if you want a genuineMini adventure.
