Summaryn Lighter weightn Super Tough HD CPE Sheathsn A uniquely identifiable outer sheath with

a RED CPE stripe helically applied andbonded into the HD Black CPE jacket

n Better earthing protection in phase-to-phase fault and phase-to-earth fault situations than with 241

n The superior earthing comes from a combination of state-of-the-art semiconducting materials and a braided earth shield

n Tinned copper shields provide mechanicalcoverage and minimise any possible shield wire voids. Shield wire integrity is enhanced by interwinding colour coded nylon braid

Safety Firstn Lighter, smaller and uniquely identifiable

Nexans AmerCable CPE SheathsNexans AmerCable’s thermoset Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) sheath provides the physical performance and strength needed to resist wear, tear, abrasion and compression cuts caused byeveryday mining use.

This tough, durable sheath is a proven performer in mines throughout the world. NexansAmerCable’s engineered cable construction includes a taped-core with fillers or integral filled andtandem extrusion of the sheath layers. Two-pass sheaths, extruded in tandem, yield an inseparablebond between the layers. Integral filling of the cable core reduces torsion-induced damage.

Nexans AmerCable’s CPE colored sheaths have the identical physical properties of our standardblack sheath. These high visibility cables can improve mine safety by providing easy circuit identification.

Bending RadiusOne of the most common causes of cable failure is exceeding Nexans AmerCable’s recommendedbend radius. Exceeding the recommended bend radius can damage the conductor, pilot and insulation. Since this is normally not visible, this damage will result in unexpected cable failure andcostly downtime.
