E-university is translation of key relationships and services, as well as academic, outreach and business processes through the use of Internet technologies [1]

University of Latvia is using WebCT CE 4.1, it is necessary to upgrade to newer LMSPossible choices are commercial or OpenSource LMSCurrently E-university project is seriously evaluating MoodleSome of the OpenSource LMS benefits are:

Summary
After 5 years of launching of E-university project, e-learning has become an essential part of University. More than 200 lecturers are involved and more than 7000 students use e-learning every year in more than 400 e-coursesIt is possible to see the list of available e-courses easily, guest access for many e-courses is also availableUniversity of Latvia supports external students to easily offer courses (and e-courses) to everyoneTo further improve University services, Career Development center has been established as an interface between enterprises and University to formulate needs, gather feedback
