Ministry of Tourism is celebrating Paryatan Parv 2019 starting from Gandhiji’s 150th birth

anniversary on 2nd October to 13th October .The theme of this year’s Paryatan Parv is also based

on the life of Mahatma Gandhi and Gujarat is blessed to be associated with many parts of the life

of Mahatma.

Gujarat Tourism Department is organizing various programs during Paryatan Parv to Celebrate,

Promote and Educate everyone about the Gandhian values and places related to him. Gujarat

tourism had organized a special visit to Gandhi Ashram Ahmedabad for school students.

Sabarmati Ashram also known as Gandhi Ashram, is located in the Sabarmati suburb

of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on the banks of the River Sabarmati. This was one of the many residences

of Mahatma Gandhi who lived at Sabarmati (Gujarat) and Sevagram (Wardha, Maharashtra) when

he was not travelling across India and was not in prison. Gandhiji lived here with his wife

Kasturba Gandhi. The ashram now has a museum, the Gandhi Smarak Sangrahalaya. This had originally been

located in Hridaya Kunj, Gandhi's own cottage in the ashram. The ashram had its own rules and regulations such as daily prayers

recitation of Bhagvat Gita, Satvik Bhojan Prepartaion etc.

A walk thorugh Ashram took the childrens to the Golden Era of Gandhiji and made them aware

about Father of the Nation.
