JUST SAY

TO UNAUDITED

MEDIA

Dear Students,As of late, I’ve become interested in studying Anger. This innate emotion has been the focus of so much research, it is quite interesting to note that the way we define Anger and the way we cope with it differs from one period to another and from one culture to another.

Is Anger good or bad?

As much as this simple question creates controversy, the end result is there is no escaping that feeling!!

It is part of being human and there will always be certain provoking situations that trigger our anger.

Why and when do we feel Angry?

Through my readings and in my humble opinion, I have come to conclude that it all boils down to our sense of control. Think about it! When we feel we are in control of a situation, we never lose our temper. It is the moment that we start feeling the situation slipping in between our fingers that we start raising our voices and acting out. That outburst gives us a temporarily feeling of control.

But we all know that once the angry outburst is over, in most instances, we end up losing more when we lose our temper.

So, shall we bottle in our anger form fear of losing more?

Again, research has indicated that those who bottle their anger risk physical and emotional ailments!! So what is the answer of that seemingly simple question? I believe it lies in the complexities of our perceptions.

If from the beginning we don’t perceive ourselves as capable to be in control of any situation, our frustrations when things don’t go our way will lessen. If from the beginning, we perceive that any situation is subject to change with time, our frustration will not build up as we know that what today is not working in our favor, tomorrow might start to actually do the opposite.

Call it wisdom, call it maturity (but please don’t call it age, I still refuse to acknowledge that factor!!), Time surely changes one’s perception.

May you always view situations in the most rational and positive way,

Till next issue,

eina MokaddamZ

The Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) Ruwwad Business Club hosted a carnival which included a wide variety of activities ranging from henna tattoo designs to participants selling things such as food, animals, and much more. The carnival’s main theme was to capture Kuwait’s heritage and represent it in a very accurate way.

Kuwait’s heritage was depicted via displays of pictures representing different aspects of Kuwait’s history, the struggle Kuwaitis went through during the occupation, and Kuwait’s liberation. Other sets of pictures were included regarding Kuwait’s history but the idea was to take the viewer on an emotional rollercoaster highlighting Kuwait’s past.

Naturally, the carnival was filled with active participants providing different types of products. There were more than 70 booths, each with its own unique style. The purpose behind this was to encourage owners of small businesses therefore accentuating the club’s aim; having students apply what they learn in the classroom to real life. The result of this was impressive and reflected positively on young Kuwaiti businessmen and women.

The Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) celebrated the opening of its Math & Photography Spring Week. The main purpose of this event is to highlight the importance of math in photography. There will be a series of activities running throughout the day, along with important workshops catered to students struggling in Algebra and photography enthusiasts as well as an exhibition of vintage cameras. Not to mention the running competition of best photographs taken representing numbers where GUST students, staff and faculty were able to run in.

The GUST halls are decked with numbers, photographs and cameras. Not many realize that math techniques are used to calculate the shutter speed, aperture openings or even the F-stops. For example, the faster the shutter speed the smaller the aperture number. Hence we need math to understand these laws of photography. That is why this event is so important.

“I believe it’s very innovative to integrate a science like math with photography. The students have done some great pieces. I especially like the collages they have made from their Algebra projects,” said Dr. Robert Cook, who inaugurated the event with Ammar Al-Jeraiwi and Bahaadeen Al-Qazwini - who are part of the photography content judging panel; and Hani Al- Asousie who graciously provided all the vintage cameras for display.

GUST hosted Kuwait’s 1st Social Networking Forum organized by Al-Harir and sponsored by Zain, Kuwait International Bank and the Kuwait Small Projects Development Company. The main aim of the forum was to introduce people to the right ways to utilize social media networking to further develop their projects and themselves.

Omar Al-Othman, a presenter of the segment What’s On on Al-Watan TV’s show “Taw El-Lail” was the host of the seminar where he introduced all the speakers and what the forum will be about. Al-Othman introduced Meshari Al-Mutawa, the General Manager of Harir, who thanked all the sponsors and began to explain the importance behind the technological revolution of social networking “communication has changed, it will never be as it was before,” which is why this forum is so important.

Over the spring break, the Ruwwad Business Club organized a unique and fascinating trip to the financial power house of Turkey; Istanbul. It was a five day business trip that included many interesting visits and conferences which were very informative and enlightening. The purpose of the trip was to expand the knowledge of the participants about the business world in Turkey, and further to educate those who were unaware of the financial ties between Turkey and Kuwait. Secondary to this, the purpose of the trip was for entertainment and enjoyment.

Thanks to the unique and very well organized efforts of Mohammad Ebrahim (President) and Abdurahman Estanbli (Vice President), Faisal Al-Roumi, Dhari Al-Meshari and Sara Buabbas the trip included many activities. Throughout the trip, the group of 30 students, parents and staff members were taken on a business based as well as touristic based tour of Turkey’s financial hub and center, Istanbul. Stops along the way during the business part included visits to the Istanbul Stock Exchange (İMKB), Ziraat Bank, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, AK Party branch, and MUSIAD (Businessman’s Association). As for touristic and entertainment stops, the group went to Topkapi Palace, Sultanahmet Mosque (also known as the Blue Mosque), Panorama Istanbul, Hagia Sophia, Kapalıçar (The Grand Bazaar), Miniaturk Park and the famous Bosphorous boat trip.

The Kuwait Central Blood Bank (KCBB) on marked World Blood Donor Day with the launch of a new youth-oriented campaign, ‘Club 25,’ as well as honoring those who donated blood more than 100 times and the major firms which help and participate in KCBB events. The focus of the 2010 World Blood Donor Day was on young donors, with the slogan for this year’s campaign being ‘New Blood for the World.’ As the demand for blood for transfusions increases worldwide, young people can make an important and possibly life-saving contribution by donating blood and by recruiting other young people to become donors.

Minister of Health Dr. Helal Al-Sayer told the Kuwait Times that Kuwait was celebrating the occasion to remind people that donating blood can save lives and help people fight blood diseases such as hemophilia. “We should make it our job to teach young generations the importance of this humanitarian obligation,” the minister asserted.

Box Hill College Kuwait organised its first career fair with the cooperation of the Manpower & Government Restructuring Program (MGRP), on Thursday 31st March 2011, with the participation of a number of private international and local companies.

The college organised this event to help students with introductions to different private and public industry sectors in Kuwait and to give companies the opportunity to discover the potential and hands-on learning experience of BHCK students.

The event also included workshops on how to prepare CVs and how to pass an interview. The workshops were carried out by Ms. Mounira Al Obaidan from MGRP who said that these kinds of workshops help students prepare for their future careers. Ms. Obaidan added “the audience and their interactivity were fabulous; it reflected the interest and mature behaviour of the students”.

The participation of MGRP covered different angles and exhibited their different departments, such as “Small Businesses” who help small entrepreneurs by giving them advice and guidance in addition to various workshops that helps them better manage their business. This department serves as a link between these small entrepreneurs and big investors. Another of their departments, “Career Guidance and Training”, guides students on the major topics required by the private sector and enrols them in specific workshops during their summer vacation. Mr. Abed Al Qassar, Head of Public Relations and Communication at MGRP said “this is our first time to participate in a Career Fair. We were very careful in diversifying our activities, from exhibiting to organising workshops, which will help students and guide them in their future career life. The audience was huge and the students were very interactive. We would like to thank BHCK for giving us this opportunity and we would like to commend the people who organised this event for a well organised and smooth day.”

Wataniya Telecom also participated in this event and showed high interest in BHCK’s graduates, especially those of the Graphic Design department, recognising that BHCK is the only private college for women that offer this major.

Parsons Brinckerhoff International, a leading company in the engineering consultancy industry, introduced its services and the job opportunities available for students.

This day is considered one of the most important activities organised by the Department of Student Affairs at BHCK to encourage and support students in their career planning

Kuwait’s Got Talent

Faisal, Can you please introduce your self to STUDENTALK readers? My name is Faisal Al Essa and I just recently graduated from university with a B.A of business marketing, my hobbies besides cooking are martial arts and football.

How did you get started and why a Japanese food chef?Well first of all I wouldn’t call my self a chef yet, because in Kuwait any person who takes a knife and starts cooking for a year or two is then automatically labelled as a chef and the title ”Chef“ is used very loosely in Kuwait. I have been doing this for almost 7 to 8 years and I never called my self a chef, the media did, however I am on a mission to become a certified one.

I first started cooking when I was about 12 years old, when I was a kid my dad used to get upset with me whenever he enters the kitchen and sees all the mess that I have made, so In the beginning it was more like a hobby. By the age of 16 I discovered Japanese food in Kuwait and was truly amazed by how it was constructed and how its key ingredients came to place, that’s when I fell in love with it and the Japanese culture too.

As we all know Kuwaiti people graduate from university to get a job in the ministry or banks, Why Faisal chose Cooking as a career?First of all I personally feel that the Kuwaiti youth needs to diversify more in jobs and start doing something that they are really passionate about, something that they really love and like to get up every morning to do. Kuwait is going through a transition where

I never called myself a chef, the media did.

creativity is really starting to bloom within them and they should get the support from their elders to continue doing what they do best and what they love. As for me choosing a cooking career? Its simple, I get to get up every morning and do what I love doing best. I dont think it gets any better or simpler than that.

When did you start your business seriously?I started taking it seriously after I resigned from Wasabi Japanese restaurant at 2008 I then realized that no one is going to knock on my door step with a big smile on his face and go ”lets open a restaurant together, I will sponsor you with all the money“. I had to go out there and let the people of Kuwait know what I was doing and create some awareness among my peers. That’s when I developed my own website, my own recipes and my own delivery system, for now its not about making profit, its about a business that creates awareness and lets people know how I do my work and the quality that I bring to it.

How was your parent’s reaction? In the beginning my father was very critical about it, because he is very traditional. He used to think of cooking as a feminine lifestyle, he urged me to let go of it and focus on my studies during my early days, my mother however has been supportive since the day I bought my first cooking book, eventually as the media started to recognize me and as I started generating profit from my business it caught my father’s attention and he started seeing it more positively.

Page 39: StudenTalk #123 - May 2011

What was the most challenging thing you’ve been through? Many challenges to be honest, the first one was having to work in a restaurant where I was the only Kuwaiti and never had any assistance from the other chefs. The second challenge was going through criticism among my relatives by saying that what I am doing (the whole idea of cooking) is lowering my standards as a Kuwaiti, and getting in to this kind of field is an embarrassment to my family, all because I work in a kitchen and I am not afraid to express my self. Another challenge that I went through is being pressured in to opening an actual full operating restaurant. People need to understand that its a complicated process and its something that should not be rushed in to.

Who inspired you as a chef?I am truly a blessed person to have people around me that support me, the first person who has inspired me the most and who has been there for me during harsh times was my mother, she may not be a chef but her every day advices is what kept me going.

Secondly you will be surprised if I told you that there are more Kuwaiti chefs than you think and one of them is Chef Adla Al Sharhan, a true role model for me and someone who I could always count on and I am blessed to have her in my life.

As for celebrity chef role models, I would have to say that my true inspiration comes from Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto and Chef Tyler Florence, if you research their recipes you’ll know that I try to do a similar mixture of style of their foods.

What is your inspiration in creating your dishes? Before I create a dish I take a look at 3 critical aspects that determine how a dish stands out in the end:• Taste• Texture• PresentationIf these three elements are in my dish then I should have no problem creating something unique and special.Secondly I create a dish that either reminds me of a food experience that I had in a foreign country or I create something out of a key ingredient which I cant get enough of.

What is the best part about being a chef?Serving people and satisfying their taste buds, but also it gives you the advantage of knowing how to cook your own breakfast, lunch and dinner.

What do people need to know about being a chef before entering the field?First of all they need to ask themselves: Is this what they really want to do and does this make them happy? Secondly they need to know that being in this kind of field requires a lot of hard work and sacrifices and if they are willing to work hard and do their best while under pressure then I wish them the best of luck.

What has been your biggest success or achievement in the recent years?Landing a job opportunity at Wasabi in 2007Building up a reputation in Kuwait with my workHaving a contract agreement with ”Oishi“ Sushi restaurant back in 2009.

Where do you see your self in 3-5 years from now?If things work out the way I want them to be I would like to:Start my own business (restaurant of course) Be a certified Chef (going for my culinary degree)Possibly opening another business which is not food related.

If you had to make a wish to cook for a famous actor or musician who would that be? That is a very interesting question. Three people popped up in my head: The first person who I would love to cook for would be our loving and well respected Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah, cooking for him would be a dream come true for me. As for a famous musician, I would love to cook for John Mayer. As for an actor I think it would have to be Will Smith.

How or where can people order your food?I run a home business so if people want to reach me, I only do deliveries and there is a 24 hour notice period for any order and as for a catering order, a 48 hour notice period will be good enough for me. They can reach me at:Business line: 5502-0672Email: [email protected]: www.faisalalessa.me Facebook fan page at (Faisal Al Essa Culinary Artist)

Our main aim is help, assist and entertain the students.

“ “STUDENT VIBE is a permanentradio station that will never ever end even if we graduate

“ “

Nine students work as a one team trying to reach their consolidated goal which is delivering a voice to students which they want to hear every single day, informing them ,assisting them and giving them a touch of entreatment and joy. They are one family called STUDENT VIBE working so hard, organizing time and starting their own online radio station. Lets discover what is STUDENT VIBE..........

What is Student VIBE ?Student Vibe is a new online radio station, it aims to help, assist and entertain the students. It also puts a spotlight on universities and high schools events.

Who started it and when?Student Vibe is an idea that we had for a long period of time. We tried bringing it to light and finally we managed

to do so. The station was started mainly by Ahmed Al-Sharman, Dhari Al-Nouh, Emad Al-Sadi and Meshary Al-Quarinni

How many people work on it?Student Vibe team has 9 members in it so far and it’s growing to become a bigger family.

Page 41: StudenTalk #123 - May 2011

www.studentalk-online.com

All our programs are going to be focusing on what the students wanna hear and wanna know.

“ “How do you guys manage you time between your university and the radio station? It’s very hard to manage the time for a 24\7 online radio station, and we achieved that by giving different tasks to the staff, but it really depends on team work and we always cover for each other.

What kind of programs do you aim to present? So far we are still discussing the programs, but since we want the students to be our audience we will be focusing on them in most of the programs. But so far it’s not fixed yet.

Are the programs going to be live?Yes the programs are going to be live and in case anyone missed any program there will be a replay twice a day.

Is it in Arabic or English or both? It’s going to be a mixture of both, yet it will focus on English.

What are the most challenging things you've faced?Beside managing time between this and our studies, it would be reaching the students.

How can we reach Student VIBE?You can reach us on our website (www.student-vibe.com ) our radio station can be accessed almost from any device that has internet, and currently we are trying to develop some Apps so it can be accessed in an easier way. Of course we have the social networking sites to follow our updates and announcement .Twitter account : STUDENT_VIBEFacebook page : Q8 Student Vibe

What would you like to say to STUDENTALK readers?First of all we would like to thank everyone who has been supporting us in anyway and for all the people who offered us help in our promoting tour at the universities that we visited so far. We encourage all the students and readers to join us if they think they got any talent they can develop with us, no matter what that talent is we will be able to help them grow. They can contact us either from our website or directly by e-mailing us at: [email protected] Last but not least we would like to thank STUDENTTALK for giving us the opportunity to reach the students.

“What” is More Important Than “Why”In a book called, The Psychology of Technical Analysis, the writer Tony Plummer paraphrases Oscar Wilde by stating, “A technical analyst knows the price of everything, but the value of nothing”. Technicians, as technical analysts are called, are only concerned with two things:

1- What is the current price?2- What is the history of the price movement?

The price is the end result of the battle between the forces of supply and demand for the company’s stock. The objective of analysis is to forecast the direction of the future price. By focusing on price and only price, technical analysis represents a direct approach. Fundamentalists are concerned with why the price is what it is. For technicians, the why portion of the equation is too broad and many times the fundamental reasons given are highly suspect. Technicians believe it is best to concentrate on what and never mind why. Why did the price go up? It is simple, more buyers (demand) than sellers (supply). After all, the value of any asset is only what someone is willing to pay for it. Who needs to know why?

General Steps to Technical EvaluationMany technicians employ a top-down approach that begins with broad-based macro analysis. The larger parts are then broken down to base the final step on a more focused/micro perspective. Such an analysis might involve three steps:

1- Broad market analysis through the major indices such as the S&P 500, Dow Industrials, NASDAQ and NYSE Composite. Or in Kuwait such as Global General Index

2- Sector analysis to identify the strongest and weakest groups within the broader market

3- Individual stock analysis to identify the strongest and weakest stocks within select groups

The beauty of technical analysis lies in its versatility. Because the principles of technical analysis are universally applicable, each of the analysis steps above can be performed using the same theoretical background. You don’t need an economics degree to analyze a market index chart. You don’t need to be a CPA to analyze a stock chart. Charts are charts. It does not matter if the time frame is 2 days or 2 years. It does not matter if it is a stock, market index or commodity. The technical principles of support, resistance, trend, trading range and other aspects can be applied to any chart. While this may sound easy, technical analysis is by no means easy. Success requires serious study, dedication and an open mind. Top-Down Technical AnalysisFor each segment (market, sector and stock), an investor would analyze long-term and short-term charts to find those that meet specific criteria. Analysis will first consider the market in general. If the broader market were considered to be in bullish mode, analysis would proceed to a selection of sector charts. Those sectors that show the most promise would be singled out for individual stock analysis. Once the sector list is narrowed to 3-4 industry groups, individual stock selection can begin. With a selection of 10-20 stock charts from each industry, a selection of 3-4 of the most promising stocks in each group can be made. How many stocks or industry groups make the final cut will depend on the strictness of the criteria set forth. Under this scenario, we would be left with 9-12 stocks from which to choose. These stocks could even be broken down further to find the 3-4 of the strongest of the strong.

Since we now know the base and principles of technical analysis, next month we will explain some basics of the chart analysis and how to spot a bullish situation. We will also go through some technical indicators which will help us in taking the correct action on the right time.

In our first part of Technical Analysis published last month we talked about what is technical analysis and the principles of technical analysis stating that it is the forecasting of future financial price movements based on an examination of past price movements. Technical analysis is applicable to stocks, indices, commodities, futures or any tradable instrument where the price is influenced by the forces of supply and demand.

We also said that market action discounts everything and technical analysts believe that the current price fully reflects all information. Because all information is already reflected in the price, it represents the fair value, and should form the basis for analysis.

A technician believes that it is possible to identify a trend, invest or trade based on the trend and make money as the trend unfolds. Because technical analysis can be applied to many different time frames, it is possible to spot both short-term and long-term trends.

A*Men Pure Havane, a perfume with spiced oriental tobacco made according to the art of experiencingprestige cigars, in three “layers”.

The first layer opens with an aromatic note of fresh tobacco leaves. A top note which gives nohint of the intensity to come...

When sampling a cigar, the second layer develops increasing strength which subtly brings the smoker to the apotheosis: the fragrance’s heart note that develops around a honeyed tobacco chord, whose syrupy and vanilla tones will delight the most sensitiveconnoisseurs.

The last layer - the base note - develops its virile and enchanting power around the woody and sensual notes of patchouli and bittercacao.

A creation by Jacques Huclier for Givaudan.

Redesigned for the occasion, the A*Men bottle is enveloped in a tobacco-colored gum, with the “Colorado Maduro” dark brown shade of finely wrapped spiced cigars. Its gleaming emblematic glass sculpted star completes the effect in a warm honey-yellow tone.

G-STARLook Book - For Him

G-STAR

G-Star launches Motor 5620 for MEN to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the iconic G-Star ElwoodIn 1996 the revolutionary G-Star Elwood introduced the world to the concept of 3D denim. Pierre Morisset, G-Star’s head designer, found his inspiration when he saw a rain-soaked motorcyclist at a motorway rest stop. The jeans the biker wore had been permanently molded into his riding position by heat from the motorcycle’s cylinders and a mix of rain, sun and oil. The design of the G-Star Elwood fuses articulated knee design from motocross trousers with the functionality of workwear painter’s pants. With this simple yet sophisticated design, G-Star mapped out a modern approach to denim. Fifteen years later, G-Star celebrates the impact made by that groundbreaking design with the Motor 5620 program – a raw and tough collection of denim and denim-complementary garments for Summer 2011, that traces back to the motorcyclist inspiration of the original G-Star Elwood. Highlights include the raw, military influenced Motor 5620 Jacket, the blue-and-white Marlon Round-Neck Sweat and the Motor 5620 Loose Embro; all incorporating distinctive G-Star Elwood styling cues and recurring visual motifs, such as cornelli-stitched ’96’ on sleeves and legs. G-Star’s 3D heritage is expressed through complex tailoring, while waxed finishes, tough denim and heavy canvas hark back to the golden days of motorcycling.

Jasminora, the spirit of jasmineand a note of freesiaIt was on the warm earth of Calabria that Thierry Wasser decided, with one of his producers,to relaunch the cultivation of jasmine grandiflorum, which had been discontinued forseveral years.

In this fresh, green and floral fragrance, it is jasmine that leads the dance from start to finish in an unusual guise. A velvety pas de chat... Jasmine that appears transformed – different, more ethereal, as light as a feather, with just the slightest hint of honey, less fiery, jasmine that hasbeen tamed without losing its beautiful soul: jasmine with its head in the clouds. When he set his heart on this loquacious queen of flowers, Thierry Wasser knew that hewould have to work and compose it differently in order not to betray the very spirit of Aqua Allegoria, dedicated to authentic simplicity. No sleight of hand in the laboratory ormagic wand was required, just a miracle produced by nature, who does everything so well.

On May 19th 2011 H&M the international design-driven clothing retailer will launch a new range of cosmetics in Kuwait. Today, in 2011, with over 25 years of brightening expertise, Estée Lauder once again breaks new ground in brightening skincare science with extraordinary innovation. In our continuing quest to deliver flawless, fairer skin, the world renowned Estée Lauder Asia Research team conducted an extensive, unprecedented study to understand the physiology of Asian skin and what affects its overall tonality. Estée Lauder scientists discovered that dark spots aren’t the only cause of uneven skin tone in Asian skin. Beyond spots, there are four key factors that contribute to the dullness and discoloration that can eclipse the natural luminosity of Asian skin: dehydration, uneven skin texture, disorganized collagen and poor microcirculation.

Inspired by this groundbreaking discovery, Estée Lauder’s scientists developed our most comprehensive and advanced brightening system ever with NEW CyberWhite Brilliant Cells.

G-STAR

G-STAR

G-Star launches Motor 5620 for WOMEN to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the iconic G-Star Elwood. In 1996 the revolutionary G-Star Elwood introduced the world to the concept of 3D denim. Fifteen years later, G-Star celebrates the impact made by that groundbreaking design with the Motor 5620 program – a tough, yet super feminine collection that traces back to the motorcyclist inspiration of the original G-Star Elwood, creating a female biker look for upcoming summer. Highlights for women include some outstanding leather pieces, including the dark navy mini Motor 5620 Short and the milk-coloured, fitted Motor 5620 Vest; both strong representatives of the biker look. Denim highlights include the deep indigo Motor 5620 Tapered Embro in soft-stretch, perfect fitting raw denim, great to combine with the Motor 5620 Denim Slim Shirt. The specialized denim collection features refined details in every inch, including distinctive G-Star Elwood styling cues and recurring visual motifs, like ‘v-shaped’ details on pockets and cornelli-stitched ’96’ on arms and legs.

4. Rawan Ezzo: Jeans vest, Jeans, Ring: TopshopTop, Hat, Shoes: River IslandBag: Student’s ownThe  outfit  I’m  wearing  represents  my personality in a way; none of the colors were too matching but they are in the same color band as they are all neutral colors. I’m a jeans and shirt type of girl but I always like to change it up with accessories/vests/funky shoes  so  the final  look never  ends up plain. I also love keeping up to date with season’s ‘must haves’ hence the hat and the jeans vest.

5. Lattayef Al Musallam: Dress: River IslandJeans Vest, Shoes, Belt :TopshopI love the mixture of the lace and snakeskin, the soft feminine lace and the sassiness of the snakeskin kind of  define my personal style.

6. Roula Arab: Earrings, Top, Jeans, Necklace: TopshopBlazer, Shoes, Bag: River Island The outfit was very casual, yet full of  colors and it was a great combination. The basics (shirt and jeans) were pretty neutral but the shoes and blazer/jacket added life and color and took it to a different form of casual. The material of the clothing was very comfy, suitable for the weather and suited the overall look.

Women’s Rights

-I think that is depends on the situation, for example, when it comes to politics, they tend to take men more seriously, especially in the Arab world, thinking that they would make better leaders. As for equal rights for women, men started to realize that without them, the world will not be the same. At least we can multi task, yet take under account others feelings. We literally rock.-The most important thing that needs to be changed is the concept of some men thoughts. They should not underestimate women abilities and way of thinking.

Alaa Nasr– 18 – ACK–Marketing

-No women and men are treated equally for example, human political rights.Hussein A. Darwiche/22/MIS/GUST

Q1: Do you feel that women are still treated as less than equal to men?

Q2: What is the one thing you would most like to change to balance the two genders

-Yes, I think until now women are treated less than men. -Allow women to work in the same fields as menKaram Saab/19/Management/AUK

Page 65: StudenTalk #123 - May 2011

Students’ Life -Women are rising more than they did in the past. Now that women are given the right to actually play a role in the ministry of interior this actually says something. It is true that society is still looking at women as weaker species and not being able to do/handle the things men can do, but when it comes to power of will, women win, I admit. They are almost equal to an extent.-I don’t mind feminism, they do have a right, but the fact that it’s getting extreme is a problem. The reason why this is so is because when extreme feminism sparks, it starts a huge argument with men. Women should know the boundaries and equalities of feminism to avoid arguments. Feminists should see the equality with men, and vise versa. God created all things equal.

Ali Al Khamis/22/ACK/ Business Marketing

-It’s a good thing that women are having more rights than they used to but I feel like women are treated less than equal to men in the society. Men have more freedom and can get away with almost anything but the women has too many restrictions around her and gets judged over the tiniest thing, which is not fair!-To see everyone as people and not male and female. Everyone makes mistakes, decisions, choices, whether they are right or wrong. Live your life! Do what you think is right and stop judging others the way you don’t want to be judged. In the end we’re all people!

-It has improved over the years but they’re still not treated equally. We are just as smart as guys!!-Give women the chance to work at high positions. Maybe then it’ll stick in peoples heads that we are equal.Mariam Al Saif /18/ Marketing/ACK

-Well, in some countries yes but in Kuwait now women are equal to men that’s why we have democracy. That’s why it called free Kuwait.-Well when it comes to this I’d say there is nothing needed to be changed in Kuwait because now in modern Kuwait women are equal to men.

-No, because nowadays women have all their rights.

Rasha Majid/ 20/ GUST/PR

-Well I think it’s obvious that women, even with the modern word we live in are still treated less than men. For instance in Kuwait some women are working everywhere and have entered parliament and got their voting rights, but people are still treating women as secondary to men in importance, they almost never get high positions in work or get promoted unless they started the business themselves or if they have “wasta” to be honest men say that women are equally important in society as men are, but when it comes down to it the ______ is most likely wanting to have a boy as a child than have a girl, men are happier when their kids are boys rather than girls.-I don’t think there is one thing to be honest, I would like to see multiple things change, but the one thing that I want to see change is the ongoing close mindedness of societies not just Arab’s, that still use either religion or old traditional restrictions as an excuse of a justification to keep women in their place for example in Islam we know that Adam was created before Eve so men is Islamic society sometime use this example and many others in the Quran to justify that god created Adam first so man is more important than woman.Mliha Al Wazzan /21/ Management/AUK

Game On! With NBK’s Al Shabab at theUniversity Championship Cup

Now in its seventh year, the University Championship Cup received its biggest boost for 2011 in the form of support from NBK’s Al Shabab. Starting in April and continuing throughout the month of May, this year the UCC involves teams from ACK, AUK, and GUST and sports include soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis and table tennis. Studentalk met with NBK’s Laila S. Al- Mukhtar to find out more about the UCC and NBK Al Shabab’scommitment to it. Studentalk: What does it mean to NBK to be involved in this year’s UCC?

Laila: It’s an important part of our involvement with students throughout the year. It’s a way for

us to connect with the students and an opportunity for us to support some of Kuwait’s enthusiastic

and talented student sportsmen and women.

Studentalk: NBK Al Shabab has taken on title sponsorship of the University Championship Cup.

That shows great dedication to the tournament and to the students participating.

Page 71: StudenTalk #123 - May 2011

Laila: We’ve gone a step further even than that. We’re also

sponsoring the team from the Australian College of Kuwait,

and we’re supporting the UCC by having representatives

from NBK present at the events so competitors and

supporters will also have an opportunity to talk to us about

their banking needs and Al Shabab.

Studentalk: Sports are a great way to not only stay fit and

healthy, but also to interact with a wider group of people

than we otherwise would.

Laila: Definitely. We think sports have an essential role

to play in everyone’s life, and we’re delighted to have this

opportunity to encourage students throughout ACK, AUK,

and GUST to get involved in the UCC. Playing sports

encourages teamwork and raises the awareness of others.

I think this reflects the way we work within Al Shabab, we

encourage teamwork and recognize that without each other

we couldn’t achieve as much as we do.

We met and chatted with some of ACK’s soccer team, a

committed team they are too. Training three times a week

and playing regular matches they’ll be a force to be reckoned

with as the UCC progresses. The University Championship

Cup continues through to Thursday 26th May. You can

keep in touch with your university’s results by visiting the

Al Shabab Facebook page. So, if you’re looking for a bank

account exclusively designed to fit in with your student

lifestyle, NBK’s Al Shabab is the account for you. With no

minimum opening balance, free online banking and instant

benefits Al Shabab won’t guarantee to make a world class

sportsman or woman out of you, but it will allow you to

study hard and bank easy.

Three months after standing down as California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger is to return as a cartoon superhero version of himself, The Governator, he announced. The former champion bodybuilder turned Hollywood star, catchphrase “I’ll be Back”, has teamed up with Marvel comics founder Stan Lee to create the character which will star in an animated TV show and comic book. More details will be announced soon, but Schwarzenegger and Lee revealed the plans to Entertainment Weekly, which published more details on its online version. “The Governator is very simple. It takes my entire career basically, if it is bodybuilding, if it is action movies, if it is the governorship,” the famously Austrian-accented 63-year-old told the magazine.”It takes all those things and combines it into one. That guy is designed to fight crime, to fight natural disasters, this guy will be jumping into action,” he added in a video clip on the weekly’s website.

Oscar-winning actress Penelope Cruz paid tribute to family and supporters including her newborn baby son, as she was given a star on Hollywood’s storied Walk of Fame. In return, Johny Depp described Cruz, who stars in the latest instalment of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, as an “inconceivably phenomenal mommy” and a “magical woman.” “Today is a very special day that I will always remember,” said Cruz, showing off her post-pregnancy figure as she received the 2,436th star on the Walk of Fame, which stretches along Hollywood Boulevard. “Every time I look at that star, I will see the names of all the people that have helped me make many of my dreams a reality,” she added. She notably thanked her parents, brother Eduardo and sister Monica, actor husband Javier Bardem, who also attended the ceremony, and her baby son Leonardo “for making me happy every day.”

US actor Nicolas Cage has been arrested in the southern city of New Orleans “after getting drunk” and having a heated argument with his wife in the French Quarter, police said. Cage, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of a suicidal alcoholic in the 1995 film “Leaving Las Vegas,” was arrested after officers approached him while he argued with his wife on the street. The 47-year-old star had been “getting drunk... in the French Quarter,” New Orleans police officer Garry Flot said in a statement, referring to the neighbourhood famous for its lively nightlife. “He and his wife were standing in front of a residence that he insisted was the property the couple was renting,” Flot said. “She disagreed, and Cage grabbed her by the upper arm and pulled her to what he believed was the correct address.” Cage then struck vehicles and began to enter a taxi. Witnesses flagged police officers who “immediately observed that Cage was heavily intoxicated, and ordered him out of the cab, which prompted Cage to start yelling,” Flot said.

Catherine Zeta-Jones’ admission that she has bipolar disorder has been welcomed by mental health groups as helping fight the stigma attached to the disease, which afflicts a number of celebrities. Doctors also emphasize that the Welsh actress, treated following the stress of husband Michael Douglas’s recent throat cancer, will likely never be free of it but will learn to live her high-profile life with the illness. “This is a family of illnesses that very high functioning and high performing people can and do have,” said Martin Evers, associate director of behavioural health at Northern Westchester Hospital in New York state. “I think its good to combat the stigma, and specifically in the case of bipolar to really reinforce the point that you can live an extremely productive life with bipolar disorder,” he told AFP. Zeta-Jones’ publicist said that the actress had briefly checked into a mental health clinic to treat her bipolar II disorder, a less severe form of the disease also known as manic depression.

John Galliano, sacked as chief designer at Christian Dior amid a furore over alleged anti-Semitic remarks, has now been fired from his eponymous label, Women’s Wear Daily reported. Citing sources that it did not identify in a dispatch from Paris, the fashion industry journal said Galliano, 50, had been “formally sacked” by directors of the John Galliano label, which is 91 percent owned by Dior. It added that a sell-off of the upmarket label was not an immediate priority for the owners, despite “unsolicited expressions of interest in the business” coming in from China, Italy and the Middle East. Dior, controlled by French luxury goods tycoon Bernard Arnault, abruptly fired Galliano on day one of Paris fashion week in March as he was formally charged with uttering anti-Semitic insults at a cafe in the French capital.

Piaget was once again in the spotlights on the red carpet during the Oscar awards ceremony held in the Kodak Theater on Sunday February 27th. This year, Black Swan film director Darren Aronofsky wore a pink gold skeleton Altiplano model revealing the beauty of the Manufacture Piaget 838P ultra-thin mechanical hand-wound movement; while Mark Ruffalo, nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in The Kids are All Right, wore a white gold Piaget Polo watch. However, the biggest red carpet sensation was created by Dale Dickey, the revelation of the Spirit Awards with her role in Winter’s Bone. A world away from her tragic role in a bleak and desolate American heartland, she shone in a sparkling blue dress and pink gold diamond earrings from Piaget’s latest creative collection, Limelight Garden Party.

International skateboarding legend Tony Hawk swapped

half-pipes for towering dunes as he tried his hand at

sandboarding in Abu Dhabi’s vast Rub’ Al Khali (Empty

Quarter) - the world’s largest expanse of unbroken

sand equivalent in size to France, Holland and Belgium

combined.

While in Abu Dhabi city, the capital of the United Arab

Emirates, for the Laureus World Sports Awards ceremony,

the extreme sports star headed for the Liwa desert – the

Rub Al Khali gateway two hours away. With him on

the sandboarding adventure were Australia’s seven-time

surfing world champion, Layne Beachley; and Taig Khris

of France, the X-Games winning in-line skater, who

recently broke the world record for the highest roller skate

jump  after  dropping  131ft  from  the  Eiffel  Tower’s  first

floor onto a massive vert ramp.

Also getting in on the action were Great Britain’s Kelly

Homes, the multi-gold medal winning Olympian;

Germany’s Jan Frodeno, who took top triathlon honours in

the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games; and Australian Emma

Snowsill, the 2008 Olympic triathlon gold medallist.

As guests of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, the sporting

legends strapped up their bindings to tackle Liwa’s 300

metre high dunes - similar to a 60-storey skyscraper and

some of the largest on the planet.

MAKING WAVES IN ABU DHABI’S GOLDEN SANDS

Hawk, a Laureus Academy Member and pioneer of the

‘900’, a two-and-a-half mid-air turn which changed the

face of skateboarding, was well at ease on the golden dunes,

making the transition from concrete to sand seamlessly.

“It was fun and a challenge, I never thought of sand as a

surface you could ride on, so I was really surprised that

we got so fast. It was daunting standing on top of these

huge dunes pondering going straight down, which I didn’t

expect. Being out in the desert and in the dunes was

what I had pictured when coming to Abu Dhabi and it is

amazing to be out here away from the norm,” said Hawk,

a champion of children’s charity through his Tony Hawk

Foundation,  which  promotes  and  helps  finance  public

skate-parks in low-income areas.

78-79

The DS3 is inaugurating the DS line in style. The new DS line will feature a range of distinctive models with more radical design content, rounding out the Marque›s main range. As its name suggests, the new line is a further symbol of CITROËN creativity and technology.

The DS3 is an assertive vehicle with radical good looks that customers can personalise with a broad range of styling components. A breath of fresh air and modernity, the newcomer’s dynamic on-road performance successfully blends efficiency and peace of mind, while the intelligence of its design makes for a modular car that adapts to all situations. The DS3 forges a new path…

… by placing desire at the heart of the motoring experience: With its sculptural styling and striking lines, the DS3 exudes enormous appeal. It is a truly distinctive vehicle with a strong personality built on original creations including a ‘floating’ roof, a ‘shark fin’ that lends vigour to the waistline, and recesses on the nose housing LED lights.

A concentrate of energy, the DS3 also features a unique onboard atmosphere where elegance and technology meet and marks of quality abound. The sophisticated instrumentation – with three conical dials on the cluster – driver-focused commands, low-set

driving position and body-hugging seats lend a cockpit feel. Chrome trim further enhances the overall sense of vitality with luxury and distinction.

… through its vivacious, distinctive design: The DS3 is in fact not one but a multitude of vehicles, that each person can create in his or her fashion. Exterior personalisation components include the roof, body, rearview mirror housings and wheels. Inside, customers get a choice of dashboard strip, gearstick knob and a host of other interior equipment with a panoply of colours, fabrics and materials. And for the ultimate in bespoke motoring, customers can select from seven innovative personalisation themes reflecting different trends and lifestyles. The DS3 is a highly personal and categorically singular vehicle.

…by providing a thoroughly modern take on driving pleasure: The DS3 is also a stand-out on the road, combining driving pleasure and everyday ease of use. Nimble and energetic, the DS3 brings the driver “closer” to the road for effortless cornering. For Vincent Besson, Director of Products and Markets Strategy at PSA, “driving the DS3 is like having the wheels at your fingertips”. The DS3’s on-road assurance gives it crisp reactions and top-level control and safety. And travelling comfort sets a new standard in the segment.

Buckle in and hold tight. Dodge is jumping back into the sport utility (SUV) segment with the 2011 Dodge Durango, a three-row vehicle spacious enough to carry the entire family and performance-tuned to thrill anyone who truly loves to drive.

Durango leads the Dodge brand’s new product onslaught for 2011, and from its sleek exterior design to its modern, spacious interior, and intelligent, fuel-efficient and powerful powertrain options, the 2011 Dodge Durango is all-new from the inside out.

And the changes are more than skin deep. The Durango’s unibody structure is more than 25% stiffer than its predecessor. The end result is a vehicle with crossover versatility, SUV capability and performance in a different league than anything else its competitive class.

“The 2011 Dodge Durango will have great appeal to customers who need the versatility of a crossover and capability  of   an  SUV,  but  want  the  refinement  and characteristics of a premium performance vehicle,” said Jack Rodencal, Managing Director of Chrysler Group Middle East. “Durango owners love to drive but also want a vehicle that stands out from the crowd and expresses their individuality - they live busy lives and need a vehicle that is spacious and flexible enough to haul three rows of  passengers and their gear, but powerful and agile enough to keep it fun. They’re also looking for the perfect balance of functional versatility and luxury at an outstanding value - Durango is the only vehicle in the segment that will meet their needs.”

Benchmarked against premium performance SUV’s in the market, it delivers highly advanced modern refinement with styling, a world-class interior, electronics, suspension and structural characteristics that are usually found at much higher price points. It’s a driver’s SUV that delivers impressive on-road performance and capability with the flexibility of  a three-row SUV.

“The 2011 Durango carries on the Dodge renaissance to an altogether new phase,” added Rodencal. “The Durango is an intrinsic member of the Dodge brand and the 2011 model far exceeds the benchmarks of the segment with its exceptional  exterior  style,  interior  refinement,  increased performance and enhanced ride and handling smoothness.”

The unibody structure is built with a selection of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steels that improve driving dynamics by integrating the suspension with the body - reducing  flex  when  compared  with  the  previous  body-on-frame design. In fact, 52% of the Durango’s structure is made from these advanced steels. More than 5,500 welds and more than 4,100 mm of arc welding contribute to torsional stiffness levels greater than the Mercedes-Benz GL.

The all-new short/long arm front suspension and isolated multi-link rear suspension features isolated front and rear cradles for improved on-road handling and comfort. The all-new Durango delivers on the pavement with aggressive shock and spring rates and large sway bars to handle body roll in hard turning maneuvers. Available electro-hydraulic performance steering, along with standard electronic stability control also contribute to maintain tyre grip and vehicle stability. A robust structure, impressive braking and unexpected stability contribute to the Durango’s best-in-class trailer tow capability. On models equipped with the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine, the Durango can tow up to 2,812 kgs - more than the V6 and V8 that were available in the previous Durango. When coupled with the 5.7-litre HEMI® V8 engine, the all-new Dodge Durango offers trailer-tow capability of up to 3,357 kgs - more weight than a 7 metre boat and trailer.

A  drag  coefficient  of   approximately  0.35  enables  an aerodynamic improvement of more than 14% compared with its predecessor, contributing to quiet interior and improved fuel efficiency.

The countdown is on to the return of MINI on the international motorsport stage. The MINI WRC Team was presented to the public during an official launch at the MINI Plant in Oxford. This season, the team will compete at selected rounds in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). The aim is to gain valuable experience, in order to be perfectly prepared for the complete 2012 World Championship season. The car has been developed by Prodrive, based on the MINI Countryman.

It is equipped with a 1.6-litre turbo engine derived from the MINI production models, which was developed by BMW Motorsport for use in series run according to FIA Super2000 regulations, including the World Touring Car Championship. Beside its works involvement with the MINI John Cooper Works WRC, Prodrive is supplying customer cars to private rally teams.

“The FIA World Rally Championship is the pinnacle of rallying, making it the ideal platform for demonstrating the competitive spirit of our brand,” says Ian Robertson, Member of the Board of Management of the BMW AG for Sales and Marketing. “Experience is a very important factor in motorsport. For that reason it is essential we learn as much as possible within a very short time, in order to make up ground on our rivals. The new regulations mean the gap to the top is smaller than it would have been at another time. We want to annoy the opposition as soon as possible.”

The MINI WRC Team will be putting its faith in experienced drivers when it faces up to the challenge of the WRC for the  first  time  in  2011. Kris Meeke  (GB)  and  his  co-driver Paul Nagle (IR) have proven their ability in impressive style, listing the 2009 Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) title as just one of their achievements. Daniel “Dani” Sordo (ES), who will compete alongside his new co-driver Carlos del Barrio (ES) in 2011, has many years of World Championship experience. Twenty nine podium finishes  from 84  starts  in the WRC just go to show the former Citroën works driver has what it takes to battle it out at the top.

Rallying is far from new territory for MINI. In the past, success in this popular motorsport discipline has played a crucial role in defining the brand’s image. Three victories at the Rally Monte Carlo in the 1960s made the Mini Cooper S a true legend. Mini also competed in the European Rally Championship, where it once again notched up countless triumphs. The MINI John Cooper Works WRC has undergone an intensive programme of tests and completed thousands of kilometres. The car will make its World Championship debut at the Rally d’Italia Sardegna at the start of May. The MINI John Cooper Works S2000 already made its first appearance in the WRC at the Rally Portugal in March.

Prodrive, an experienced motorsport operation, was chosen as the partner in the quest to continue the brand’s success story. The company, founded by David Richards, is viewed as one of the most respected and successful in rallying. “This project is a truly passionate opportunity,” believes Richards. “MINI is a cult brand which left a lasting impression during its previous motorsport campaigns. We are both extremely happy and proud to be on board as a partner when MINI returns to rallying. We aim to use 2011 as a preparatory year, amassing experience in order to ensure we are fully competitive from the start of the following season.

Ted’s Spring Summer 2011 menswear collection brings a soft and relaxed edge to once traditional tailored looks. Subtle combinations and offbeat shades work together to create a smart yet deconstructed look and a unique Ted twist. Classic wardrobe textures and touches are evident throughout, including linen blazers in micro checks and muted washed pastels, worn with matching shorts, as well as a brand new range of top quality, soft washed cotton chinos. The collection also features smart polo shirt hybrids, featuring shirting detail and contrast trims. Polos are re-worked in knits and, overall, unexpected detailing combines with crisp cottons and woven linens to create a smarter Riviera (Thames) style for the season. By night, moody greys and deeper purple tones mix with rich, beautiful textures, exaggerated styling and vivid prints to offer a more considered look although vibrant injections of colour are never far away.

The SS11 Pashion collection brings sleeker, sharper silhouettes to the fore. Two- and three-piece suits come in lustrous gun metal greys and deep blues with contrasting jacquard linings, offering a slick Phormal alternative for the modern gent. The Global collection, meanwhile, presents a new take on traditional English dressing. Luxurious jackets in jacquard and Italian prints with mirrorball lapel pins are worn with smart dark denim. Shirting featuring oversized checks and exaggerated stripes in bright colours makes the final statement. Ted Baker’s Spring Summer 2011 collection belongs to those model citizens who take pride in their appearance and who always look the part.

An award-winning documentary film that cleverly combines Shakespearean drama with Middle Eastern politics will make its cinematic debut at Cinescape in May. Richard III “An Arab VIP” is an entertaining and timely 70 minute documentary that follows Kuwaiti theatermaker Sulayman Al-Bassam and a pan-Arab cast of actors as they rehearse and perform Shakespeare’s play throughout the Middle East and in the U.S.A. As Al-Bassam and his actors move from rehearsals in Kuwait to performances of the play in Washington D.C. and Abu Dhabi, the camera reveals the hilarious and sometimes painful challenges which the cast and crew face as they try to achieve their goals of presenting the play internationally. In between these behind-the-scenes takes, the actors reveal their innermost thoughts and feelings about a whole range of topics too: politics, religion, gender equality and the arts. Shot also in Iraq, Lebanon and Syria, the film features well known Gulf actors Jassim Al-Nabhan and Faisal Al-Ameeri as well as Kuwaiti musicians Ahmed Daboos, Abdullah Al-Mutairi and Sultan Muftah. Produced by Kuwaiti arts producer Shakir Abal and co-directed by Abal with British TV director Tim Langford, the film has recently earned a “Golden Remi” at the 44th WorldFest Houston International Film Festival and has screened in competition at the 4th Gulf Film Festival in Dubai to enthusiastic audience response (where it was also a Time Out “Pick of the Week”). If you’ve ever wanted to go behind the scenes of a world-class theatrical production and witness up close and personal the extraordinary creative process of some of the finest Arab actors and artists in the Middle East, then this is a movie not to be missed.

SEASON 5

Page 94: StudenTalk #123 - May 2011

Your relationship house is filled to the brim with the heavens. Therefore relationships are on your mind. Either you will, with intensity and force and relentlessness, reject or seek them. It’s really best to have astrology charts done if you’re interested in anyone. To see the ups and downs of how you will interact together. Or perhaps you’re so lost in computer work none of this interests you. At some point it will.

You’ve become contemplative and thus interactions with the world are exhausting. No one understands this. But you do. The nodes are in your house of retreat and hidden circumstances. Everywhere there is chaos. You feel unable to tend to usual activities. The past intrudes. You must learn anew what is of value. You contain the entire universe now. A Herculean reality to undertake.

When you learn to drop all past experiences that contain resentment you will transition into the present/future. Your eyes will open wider and your interests will broaden as you master the art of stepping out of and identifying with other’s pain. This provides you with a sense of peace that was always elusive. Prior doubts will be eliminated as a new spiritual growth anchors. Watch his occur.

You have carefully guarded secrets where society’s eyes never penetrate. No one knows this. You test the limits of other people’s values and no one truly knows you. You stand on the threshold of acceptance. A brightly-lit cottage is ahead. You will soon come in out of the night.

Sometimes your great need for friendships/relationships dissipates creative energies. Sometime in the near future you will be very careful what you wish for because all your dreams will materialize. You carry around with you, unnoticed, an Aladdin’s Lamp. It takes you higher (than you can imagine) or lower (where you’ve been before). You need to teach the children of the world what you have learned. Your service will be this.

Everything in your current life seems somewhat inappropriate. Your style of living and ways of doing things fit another life circumstance. The comfort you once sought is no longer available. The play you’ve been acting in is over. Your seeking of self-fulfillment must find new avenues. In learning the value of impersonal friendships, you must abdicate your throne and cease controlling the river. Freedom awaits.

You will feel challenged and will reflect upon your new sense of identity. You may view yourself through other’s eyes and yield to their influences. Acknowledge your own singular tone. Allow no shadows to extinguish your new light of self-knowledge. On the other hand you must be graceful while leading and share the spotlight. Difficult.

Your task, a very Piscean one, is to dissolve all separative thoughts, feelings, and actions and cast them into a matrix of universal love (it exists within) so that you can carry the Light more efficiently. Many things will have to be sacrificed for this to occur. If you allow this, you will then be tested as to how awake you are. Then with what you identify with. Do you know any of this?

Although you often can’t walk across a floor without tripping, you do have courage and determination (which others don’t often see). Gratitude for this inner strength assists you in the transformative battles encountered when you step onto all the Paths humanity treads. Foot weary and heart laden with compassion, gratitude allows you the freedom to struggle and teach the Way of Transformation. Gratitude actually saves your Live.

You don’t remember why you seek freedom yet you’re afraid of losing it. You always feel a need to wander about somewhere into the twilight and dawns of new realities. Each oasis is a temporary rest but you are not rested with loose ends always scattered about. Your nervousness is part of your mission. New information is always at the foreground. Soon your knowledge will be translated into understanding.

Your consideration for others will grow exponentially and then you will begin to give with your whole heart and not just the crumbs of love you’ve given previously. Know that you never fail(ed) at anything. You have a secret of feeling failure. Let’s extinguish that immediately. Now you won’t feel so threatened. You have been proud to be a “loner.” This will end, too. Sorry. We need your laughter and your heart.

Horoscopes 2011

Spending so much time in deep thought and wanting to be left alone has made you at times the stigma of the zodiac. Well that’s changing and so will your sense of logic and your fear of being “found out.” No longer allowed to be a turtle, and no longer allowed to scrutinize from afar, you will develop a deep faith, be noticed, and finally be appreciated. You will also learn how to organize and heal. Secretly you’ve been awaiting this.

do you have what it takes to be a sudoku Grand Master?

SuDoku, “the crosswords without words,” come with a warning: it is seriously addictive. You don’t need to be a mathematical genius to solve these puzzles; it is simply a question of logic and a little patience.

How to solve a sudoku puzzle?1-Every box made of 9 squares has to have the numbers from 1 to 9 without any repeats or emissions.

2-Every vertical line should have the numbers from 1to 9 without any repeats or emissions.

3-Every horizontal line should have the numbers from 1 to 9 without any repeats or emissions.

4-DO NOT GUESS. Each number has one specific place in its row, column and box.

5-If more than one number could go into a square, write down the possibilities in small with a pencil. After you fill the whole puzzle with the possibilities, you will be able to erase the unwanted numbers as logic will eliminate the possibilities and leave you with one right answer for each square.
