What is TTS (Text-to-Speech)?What is TTS (Text-to-Speech)?

› Hardware or software solution (both kinds exist)

› Takes natural text and converts it into speech

› Generally implemented by creating large databases of tiny units of recorded speech

› Those units are then concatenated together to form natural and intelligible words and sentences

› Combined with telecommunications capabilities, these words and sentences can then be delivered to telephone devices interactively or programmatically with triggering events
