At the time of our foundry’s modernization, TRIMAN’s philosophy was to equip itself in order to manufacture a wide range of parts that can weigh from 4 kg up to 7 t, without almost any limitations. Our foundry is also ca-pable to make a comprehensive range of alloys such as low alloy and carbon steels but also high alloy ductile iron and high alloy cast irons.

Impact and abrasion resistant steels and irons as well as alloy steels specialists.

A surface of 10.000 m², located in the Vega de Arriba industrial park in Mieres, is divided into 6 units:• A casting and melting shop unit of 28*80 m.• • A shakeout, sand reclamation and a materials area unit of 16*50 m.• A processing, fettling and finishing shop of 22*80 m.• 3 workshop of 16*50 m are used for the storage of materials, flammable goods and finished castings and patterns respectively. We also have a machining workshop.• Offices, laboratories, maintenance, pattern work shop, etc… of 750 m².

PRESENTATION• Our Research and Development Department, located in Pamplona, uses Autocad® and Pro-En-gineer® softwares. Moreover, our Mieres technical department has at its disposal all the required CAD licences as well as a skilled staff, and can deal with any kind of drawing.

• Even if pattern making is subcontracted, we dispose of qualified personnel and the appropriate facilities, we can perform repairs and maintenance tasks. We can also adapt the patterns if required.

• Laboratory fitted with two Jovin-Ybon spectrometers of 20 channels, sand testing, a Hoytom universal test machine, a Charpy impact tester, Rockwell and Equotip durometers, a metallographicsaw, microscopes, specimens preparation, N.D.T, a muffle furnace, etc…

• In order to prevent any reaction and superficial alterations, all of our parts are moulded withnitrogen free furan resins. Thus, sand is recoveredup to 95%. Moulding installations are split up into 3 groups: AUTOMATIC, SEMI-AUTOMATIC AND MANUAL.

Technology for aggregate and ore processing. Wear resistant parts. Special parts for, iron and steel, chemical, coal power generation and cement industries. Chromium steels, nickel steels, manganese steels, molybdenum steels.

1 AGGREGATE, CRUSHING AND RECYCLING- Low alloy pearlitic and martensitic steels.- Manganese austenitic steels containing 6-20% manganese.- Chromium and molybdenum alloy martensitic cast irons containing 5-30% chromium. Hardness is up to 64 HRc.

2 TILEWORKS AND BRICKWORKS- High chromium martensitic white

cast irons for rolls, blades, augers supplements, hammers, linings, impellers and rings.

3 CEMENT INDUSTRY- Manganese austenitic steels and

high chromium martensitic whitecast irons for hammers, wearingplates, armour plating, etc…

4 POWER GENERATION INDUSTRY- Martensitic cast irons, austenitic

steels for liners and wedges for crushers, hammers for pre-crushers,rollers for ashes crushing, T-shapedparts, elbows and hydro-ejectors.

Sand moulding unit:

Mixing arm: equipped with a 40t/h IMF mixer. Automatic adjustment of programs, flow rates, temperatures and hardening times. Carousel nº1: deals with a 10 or a 20 semi-moulds IMF installation fitted with: patterns positioning stations, “fast loop“ compaction and moulding, turner-stripper, painting and drying station, au-tomatic moulds handler, distribution to casting-waiting lines, shakeout, casting, waiting-stripping.Computer-assisted production management.

PROCESSES

Flask and flaskless moulds operation for small moulds. Carousel nº2: deals with a 3000 * 1800 compaction table which has 10 waiting stations fitted with 2 devices for big moulds transfer and positioning.Carousel nº3: deals with a 1500 * 1200 compaction table. Roller ball tables for sand cores and medium moulds.A semi-gantry crane of 10 t, with double flanged wheels for an autonomous operating of an IMF hydraulic handler for moulds up to 3000 * 1800.Painting facilities, flow coating installation with auxiliary machinery for specials paints.

Fettling and finishing:

15 cabinets fitted with air extraction system, maintenance and in-line positioning for risers and sprue cutting, flame-cutting, air carbon arc and circular saws, welding for repairs and finishing, suspended and portable disc grinders etc… Machining workshop that consists of conventional parallel lathes up to a diameter of 2300, a milling machine, several boring-milling machines with a 120 diameter bar, a CNC vertical lathe which diameter is 1800 and a grinding machine for jaws.All the machines are fitted with a whole range of tools.

Machine-tool:

1 mobile column boring-milling machine which boring bar is 110 mm diameter.1 vertical lathe which bed is 1500 mm.1 lathe which is 12 meters between both ends and 2000 mm roll-over.1 lathe which is 3 meters between both ends and 2000 mm roll-over.1 lathe which is 2 meters between both ends and 700 mm roll-over.1 lathe which is 2 meters between both ends and 800 mm roll-over.1 universal milling machine.1 radial arm driller with a 1500 pedestal fitted with a bit which is 70 mm.1 driller fitted with a bit which is 50 mm.1 broach.

Auxiliary equipment:

Natural gas installation.Centralized compressed air.2000 kVA transformation center.Scales for trucks up to 60 tons.

Lifting and transport equipment:

10 travelling cranes between 10 and 15 t.1 semi-gantry crane of 5 t for melting. 5 hoists of 2500 kg.

Melting and casting:Casting is done through a semi-gantry crane with ladle automatic positioning.

3 Inductotherm medium frequency electric furnaces with a capacity of 2.5 t and 2 t/h respectively, with a basic liner and fitted with a vacuum dust collector.4 bottom-pour ladles of 5 t.8 bottom-pour ladles of 2.5 t.Melting is assisted by 2 travelling cranes of 8 t.Ladles heating through an oxy-gas station.Stationary and hanging weighing machines, pyrometers, etc…

Heat treatments:

2 automatic furnaces of 3000 * 3000 * 1800 with a fixed bottom, fitted with a lining made of ceramic fibre. Heating by natural gas.1 automatic furnace of 2800 * 2200 * 1800 with a fixed bottom, fitted with a lining made of ceramic fibre. Heating by natural gas.Automatic device for loading/unloading, transfer and immersion.Water quenching tank.Cooling stations with ventilation system.

Shakeout and sand reclamation:This installation has been designed and made by TRIMAN and enables to reclaim up to 95% of the silica sand we do use.Made up of:

Shakeout double grid on hopper, magnetic separation of metals, attrition unit that processes sand for an hour in order to dispose of all resins rest.Classification through screening and storage in 3 silos of 60 t in order to keep the temperature stable.Vacuum dust collector for dust from shakeout and classifica-tion.Pneumatic conveying to intermediate silo, classification on fluid bed and separation of oxides, slag and other magnetic particles. Then new vacuum cleaning.Pneumatic conveying to consumption silo.Cleaning by suspended load shotblasting machine.

Laboratory facilities:- 1 computerized spectrometer.- 1 metallographic microscope.- 1 desktop Rockwell Hardness tester.- 2 Equotip direct reading portable durometers.

- 1 precision balance.- 1 metallographic cutting saw.- 1 polishing machine for thin material.- 1 polishing machine for thick material.- 1 pendulum for Charpy impact testing.- 1 hydraulic press which capacity is up to 15 tons.
