The 2017 Catholic
Ministries Annual Appeal Is
Underway! The Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal (CMAA) helps
our parish and the Diocese of Joliet to provide countless ministries, programs and services to support our friends and neighbors in immeasurable ways.
Information about the 2017 CMAA and a request to make a pledge has been sent to all parishioners. Please review the materials, pray about how you can help further the ministries funded by our CMAA, and consider making the most generous gift possible.
The parish goal for St. Martin’s is $23,050, St. Rose goal is $20,292 and the goal for St. Teresa is $28,639.Our parish will receive 70% of the amount over goal for use in our parish! Together, we can continue to spread the Gospel message in our Diocese through our ministries and help God hold us in His hands. Thank you in advance for your support.
We appreciate the volunteers who served at masses last Sunday. Our grateful thank you for your help and participation!

Mats For The HomelessThere will be another session in St. Rose Church Hall to work on transforming ordinary grocery plastic bags into very useful, comfortable, dry mats that can be carried lightly from place to place. This work of mercy serves a dual purpose – besides creating a useful object, all these bags are spared from ending up in a garbage dump. This is easy work, all ages can do it, and its pleasant visiting with new and old friends as we work. Please join in this endeavor. The date is Wednesday, February 22 at 6:00 p.m. in the lower church hall.
StewardshipSEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
In his life among us, and especially in his passion and death, Christ presents to us a radically different vision of life than the one the world calls us to embrace. But His Resurrection calls us to a life marked by forgiveness and mercy.

Calendar of Events
When a church seeks a pastor, they want the strength of an eagle, the grace of a swan, the gentleness of a dove, the friendliness of a sparrow, and the night hours of an owl. And when they catch that bird, they expect him to live on the food of a canary.
A pastor was talking with a hard-work-ing woman who was a devoted member, present at all services. He expressed his thanks for seeing her so attentive to the services every Sunday. “Yes,” she said. “It is such a rest after a long, hard week’s work to come to church, sit down on the soft cushions, and not think about anything.”
The pastor confronted the tipsy church member: “Joe, whiskey is the worst ene-my.” “But didn’t you tell us last Sunday to love our enemies?” Joe replied. “Sure,” the pastor answered, “but I didn’t say anything about swallowing them.”

“New Paschal Candle for Easter!”
The beautiful “Paschal Candle” that appeared this past Easter in church was donated by a parishioner and was very beautiful. We are again looking for a benefactor who would be interested in donating this year’s candle in Memory of, or in Honor of, a loved one. The cost of the candle this year is
approximately $300. Whoever donates this year’s candle will receive it as a keepsake at Easter 2018. If you are interested in donating this year’s Paschal Candle, please call Donna Worth at the parish office, 815-933-7683.

+HOHQ&KLJDURVHer life has been dedicated to teaching us about health with a deep sense of spirituality and charity. She was the brain behind the Azzarelli Clinic and her 50 years of nursing experience has been well spent educating, empowering, healing and paving the way to a sanctified wellness ministry in our community, welcoming everyone at the door. +HOHQZHORYH\RXDQGZHZLOOPLVV\RX During Fr Sunny's visit with her on Friday, she said that she is happy and at peace with everything. She thanks everyone who prayed for her, because she felt the comfort of the prayers like a blanket that gave her so much peace and love. She wants to let everyone at church know: thank you and I love you all! She goes in peace, and we gain an intercessor in heaven! Until we meet again, our beloved Nurse Helen!
