Summer Weekday Mass Schedule May 31—August 13

Because Father Greer is at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, as part of his canon law studies this summer, it will be necessary to make some adjustments to the weekday liturgy schedule.

2017 D/PSC Update

Thanks to all of you who have already pledged to the 2017 Diocesan/Parish Share Campaign. As of July 31st 138 families have pledged $55,766.00 to this year’s campaign. This amount puts our parish over our goal of $51,724.00 by $4,042.00. This amount and all future pledges will be returned to St Peter Parish. Please remember that we need this rebate money to help with our regular expenses. May God reward your generosity to our diocese and parish.

Author to Speak at St. Peter Fr. Sean Davidson, author of Saint Mary Magdalene: Prophetess of Eucharistic Love recently published by Ignatius Press, will be visiting our parish! He will preach at the weekend Masses on August 19th and 20th. At 7:00 pm on Monday, August 21st, he will present a talk in the church. Father Davidson is a member of the Missionaries of the Most Holy Eucharist and serves at the Eucharistic Retreat Center in the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception, Long Island. Franciscan University Fatima Plenary Indulgence Site

Pope Francis has granted a plenary indulgence those “who visit a

statue of Our Lady of Fatima… exposed for public veneration.” Visit on the 13th of each month until Oct.13, 2017, to receive the

indulgence, under the normal conditions. The statue is in the narthex of the University Chapel.

Speaking the Truth in Love Conference The Catechetical Institute at Franciscan University will sponsor the Speaking the Truth in Love Conference, Oct. 13-15 at Franciscan University. The national conference will explore how priests, parents, and religious educators can more fully utilize the Catechism as a powerful tool to transmit the faith and assist in the renewal of Catholic culture. Conference speakers include Cardinal Donald Wuerl, Archbishop Leonard Blair, Dr. John Cavadini, Dr. Scott Hahn, Father Michael Scanlan, Dr. Tracey Rowland, and Dr. Petroc Willey. Topics include “The Significance of the Catechism for the American Church and Its work of Evangelization,” and “How the Catechism Helps Us Understand the Relationship of Doctrine, Theology and Pastoral Care.” The price is $70 until August 15; $90 afterward.
