Special Hymns RESURRECTIONAL TROPARION — TONE 2
When You descended to death, O Life Immortal, You destroyed hell with the splendor of
Your Godhead. And when from the depths You raised the dead, all the powers of heaven
cried out: “O Giver of life, Christ our God, glory to You!”
HOLY FATHER NICHOLAS TROPARION — TONE 4
Truly you were revealed to your flock as a rule of faith, an image of humility and a
teacher of abstinence; your humility exalted you; your poverty enriched you. Hierarch
Father Nicholas, entreat Christ our God that our souls may be saved.
GREATMARTYR PRINCE LAZAR TROPARION — TONE 3
Longing for the beauty of God’s glory, you were found pleasing to Him while yet in the
flesh and by good deeds multiplied the talents entrusted to you. Having suffered greatly,
even to the shedding of your blood, you received the crown of martyrdom from Christ. By
your prayers, O Lazar, entreat Him to save us who sing to you.
RESURRECTIONAL KONTAKION — TONE 2
Hell became afraid, O almighty Savior, seeing the miracle of Your Resurrection from the
tomb! The dead arose! Creation, with Adam, beheld this and rejoiced with You, and the
world, my Savior, praises You forever.
GREATMARTYR PRINCE LAZAR KONTAKION — TONE 8
Your flock glorifies you as a valiant champion of true piety and a glorious martyr, O most
wise Lazar. Since you have boldness before Christ our God, entreat Him to grant peace
to those who praise you, that we may cry: “Rejoice, O praise-worthy Lazar!”
HYMN TO THE MOTHER OF GOD KONTAKION — TONE 6
Steadfast Protectress of Christians and constant Advocate before the Creator; despise
not the cry of us sinners, but come speedily to help those who call on You in faith.
Hasten to hear our petition and to intercede for us, O Theotokos, for You always protect
those who honor You!

MATINS GOSPEL: 3rd Resurrection Gospel: Mark 16:9-20
At that time, He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary
Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons. She went and told those who had
been with Him, as they mourned and wept. And when they heard that He was alive and
had been seen by her, they did not believe. After that, He appeared in another form to two
of them as they walked and went into the country. And they went and told it to the
rest, but they did not believe them either. Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at
the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not
believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. And He said to them, “Go into all the
world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be
saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those
who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new
tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means
hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” So then, after the Lord
had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of
God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and
confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.

CHOIR: The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation.
READER: The Lord is my strength and my song;
CHOIR: He has become my salvation.
DEACON: Wisdom!
READER: The Reading is from the Epistle of the Holy Apostle Paul to the Romans.
DEACON: Let us attend!
READER: Brethren, therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace
in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also
glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance,
character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has
been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For
scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even
dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still
sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we
shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled
to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be
saved by His life.
PRIEST: Peace be unto you, reader!
READER: And with your spirit! Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
CHOIR: Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
READER: May the Lord hear you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of
Jacob protect you!
CHOIR: Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
READER: Save the King, O Lord, and hear us on the day we call!
CHOIR: Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

LITURGY GOSPEL: Matthew 6: 22-33
At that time, Jesus said “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your
whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of dark-
ness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! “No one can
serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal
to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. “Therefore I say to
you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your
body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look
at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly
Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add
one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field,
how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his
glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which
today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of
little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or
‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father
knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteous-
ness, and all these things shall be added to you.
FESTAL GOSPEL: John 15:17—16:2
The Lord said to His disciples, these things I command you, that you love one another. “If the
world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the
world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the
world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not
greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My
word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake,
because they do not know Him who sent Me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they
would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates Me hates My Fa-
ther also. If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no
sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. But this happened that
the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a
cause.’ “But when the Comforter comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit
of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. And you also will bear witness,
because you have been with Me from the beginning. These things I have spoken to you, that
you should not be made to stumble. They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is
coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.
Seek first the Kingdom of God!
Today's Gospel reflects on what many of us do - worry about the earthly and have little
faith in God. We spend so much time thinking, wondering, worrying or getting upset
about those things that are out of our control. Most of the time, they don't even hap-
pen. Let's consider our Stewardship of faith and that if God takes care of the birds,
how He will bless and take care of us! Seek first the Kingdom of God and place your
faith in Him as your priority! Focus your Time, Talents and Treasures on Him!
ЈЕВАНЂЕЉЕ: Joвaн 15:17—16:2

June Charity Orthodox Christian Charities of Greater Harrisburg
The Orthodox Christian Charities of Greater Harrisburg, Inc. (OCCGH,) was formed in
October of 2009 as a non-profit organization comprised of clergy and faithful from five
local Orthodox Churches of the greater Harrisburg metropolitan area. Our goal is to
provide opportunities for the citizens of the greater Harrisburg area to come into contact
with Orthodoxy, to serve as an educational support to our local parishes, and to develop
projects that witness to our Faith, as well as provide financial assistance to organizations
and individuals who are in need.
NEW CHURCH OFFICE HOURS
Office hours have been adjusted back to the regular:
Monday thru Friday, 9am to 12 noon.
This reflects that we are now able to come regularly to church.
Office hours will be adjusted when services are occurring during those hours.
