Dear Friend of Orchestra Geelong (alias Geelong Community Orchestra),
I do hope you are looking forward to coming to our final concert for 2015 at 3.00

works of the whole repertoire, Tanika is also a fine flautist and has won many
awards; she is also currently teaching at Geelong Grammar School. The colourful
Creatures of Prometheus Overture, an early work by the great Beethoven, will be
followed by one of the finest Symphonies ever to come from the Classical era,
Haydn's London Symphony 104 in D Major. It is not too late to book your seats
on 52315595 or simply purchase them at the door. Adults $20, Concession $15,

A light afternoon tea will be available after the concert. Please bring a friend or
two.

LAST WEEK TO R.S.V.P. FOR THE ADVENT MORNING TEA
Pastoral Connections invite you to share in Morning Tea on 29th
November – following worship - to celebrate the beginning of Advent.
Each year Pastoral Connections offers 3 opportunities for the
congregation to come together for fellowship, these are in addition to
events already being shared within the St. Luke’s community.
The first is the picnic in March, the second is the Pot Luck Lunch in winter and the third,
this year, is the Advent Morning Tea.
During the ‘Anamate’ series of studies, which are currently taking place at St. Luke’s, we
read that Jesus regularly shared meals with friends and strangers, and was therefore able
to have meaningful fellowship with them, and so we offer this opportunity to share food
and to fellowship together.
If for some reason you have not as yet received your invitation please contact any of the
names below to confirm that you will be attending.
For catering reasons please RSVP to Joy 5243 4284, Beth 5243 6874, Joan 5243 4461,
Jenny 5243 4832, Carole 5241 8447 today.
KINDER CHILDREN SINGING 2015.
On Wednesday 9th December at 9.30 am, members of the congregation are
invited to visit with the children at St. Luke’s kinder to listen to them singing their
little Christmas songs. If you are interested in sharing in this concert please see
Pam for details
POSITION VACANT
Throughout the year ladies of the congregation cater for
funerals, musical afternoons and fellowship events that take
place at St. Luke’s.
At present we require help, pre and post these randomly
occurring events, to set up and pack up tables and chairs.
If you think you might be available to help please contact Pam on 5243 9575 or
see on Sunday morning.
For this Pastoral opportunity to continue we need support.

‘YOUR FINAL CHOICE’: Hastening your death when terminally ill – eight questions
to ask yourself.
Kenneth Ralph is well known to us, having previously been a Minister in
Placement here at St Luke’s. Kenneth is a well-respected therapist and trained in
philosophy at Otago, in religion at Princeton USA and in psychotherapy in
Melbourne.
Kenneth’s book ‘Your Final Choice’ is about death control when terminally ill. It
is an invitation to have a decisive say in how the drama of our last days is played
out. When afflicted with a painful and terminal illness do we have to live as long
as we can or is there an alternative: Live only for as long as we determine for
ourselves?
The book describes the options available to us when death is near. And it
presents eight pastoral/ethical questions that can help us decide for ourselves
the manner or even the timing of our death.
Kenneth’s book is available for sale at $23.00 and can be purchased from Rae
Anderson at our trading table.
