FATHERS’ DAY – Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity in the liturgical calendar. It is also Father’s Day in the secular calendar so we wish all of our fathers a very happy and blessed Fathers’ Day! May the Lord bless and reward each of you for positively answering His call to the beautiful vocation of fatherhood. Our No-vena of Masses for all fathers begins tomorrow. If you would like to enroll your father, grandfather, etc. (living or de-ceased), please stop by the rectory to pick up one of the special cards for this purpose. FEAST OF ST. JOSEMARIA – Our parish is honored once again this year in hosting the Archdiocesan Mass in hon-or of St. Josemaría Escriva, the founder of Opus Dei. The Mass will take place in our church next Saturday, June 22nd 11:00 a.m. St. Josemaría was an exemplary priest of the 20th century who promoted the goal of “holiness in daily life.” The Principal Celebrant this year is His Excellency, Archbishop Jose Gomez. Confessions will be heard before Mass. Everyone is invited to attend! ANNUAL RECOGNITION OF GRADUATES – It has been a tradition here at St. John Chrysostom’s during the past 12 years to honor our young parishioners who are graduating from high school or college during the month of June. We will have 2 special Masses of recognition next Sunday, June 23rd. At the 11:30 a.m. Mass in English and at the 10:00 a.m. Mass in Spanish we will recognize these wonderful young men and women and give them a special blessing as well as a small gift from the parish. If you have a member of your family who is graduating this year from high school or college please let them know about these Masses and encourage them to come and attend dressed in their graduation gown and sit in the front pews. This is a wonderful way for us to thank God for these young men and women and to highlight the importance of education. IMAGES OF THE SAINTS FOR SPONSORSHIP- The magnificent new images of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Divine Mercy have now been installed in their respective chapels. They will soon be surrounded by beautiful images of 22 saints in each chapel. All of these are available for sponsorship. The cost is $1500.00. There are 44 saints de-picted. These include the major American and African saints in the Divine Mercy Chapel and the Mexican martyrs and other saints of Mexico in the Guadalupe chapel. If you wish to sponsor one or more of these saints, please contact the rectory for information. It is my hope that they will all be sponsored and paid for before I leave the parish on June 30th. Thank you! 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION – Next Sunday, June 23rd at the 5:30 p.m. Mass is when I will be celebrat-ing my Silver Jubilee of Ordination. If you normally attend that Mass and don’t want a big crowd or a long Mass, it may be better to come to an earlier Mass. On the other hand, I would love to have you join me for the celebration if you are able. Special request: It has been my custom to compile a photo album of pictures of my time in each of the 4 parishes in which I have served. I would like to have one for St. John Chrysostom as well. One of the ladies from the parish has graciously offered to prepare the album for me. So my request to you: if you have any pictures of my time here at St. John’s such as Baptisms, weddings, etc. I would be most grateful if you could drop off a copy of those pictures for me at the rectory. DIA DE LOS PADRES -Hoy celebramos la solemnidad de la Santísima Trinidad en el calendario litúrgico. ¡También es el Día del Padre en el calendario secular, por lo que les deseamos a todos nuestros padres un feliz y bendecido Día del Padre! Que el Señor los bendiga y recompense a cada uno de ustedes por responder positivamente a su llamado a la bella vocación de la paternidad. Nuestra novena de Misas para todos los padres comienza mañana. Si desea inscribir a su padre, abuelo, etc. (vivo o muerto), por favor pase por la rectoría para recoger una tarjeta especial para este propó-sito. FIESTA DE SAN JOSEMARIA - Nuestra parroquia se honra una vez más este año al organizar la Misa Arquidioce-sana honor a San Josemaría Escrivá, el fundador del Opus Dei. La Misa se llevará a cabo en nuestra iglesia el próximo sábado, 23 de Junio a las 11:00 am. San Josemaría fue un sacerdote ejemplar del siglo 20 que promovió el objetivo de "santidad en la vida diaria." El Celebrante Principal de este año es Su Excelencia, el Arzobispo Jose Gomez. Habrá confesiones antes de la Misa. ¡Todos están invitados a asistir! RECONOCIMIENTO ANUAL DE GRADUADOS- Ha sido una tradición aquí en San Juan Crisóstomo durante los últimos 12 años honrar a nuestros jóvenes feligreses que se gradúan de la escuela secundaria o la universidad durante el mes de junio. Tendremos 2 Misas especiales de reconocimiento el domingo, 23 de junio. En la Misa en inglés a las 11:30 a.m. y en la Misa en español a las 10:00 a.m. reconoceremos a estos maravillosos hombres y mujeres y les daremos una bendición especial, así como un pequeño regalo de la parroquia. Si tiene un miembro de su familia que se está graduando este año de la escuela secundaria o la universidad, infórmeles sobre estas Misas y aliéntelos a que asistan vestidos con su bata de graduación y se sienten en los bancos de enfrente. Esta es una manera maravillosa para que podamos agradecer a Dios por estos hombres y mujeres jóvenes y resaltar la importancia de la educación. IMÁGENES DE LOS SANTOS PARA PATROCINAR- Las magníficas imágenes nuevas de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe y la Divina Misericordia ahora se han instalado en sus respectivas capillas. Pronto estarán rodeados de bel-las imágenes de 22 santos en cada capilla. Todos estos están disponibles para patrocinar. El costo es de $1,500.00. Hay 44 santos representados. Solicitud especial: Ha sido mi costumbre compilar un álbum de fotos con imágenes de mi tiempo en cada una de las 4 parroquias en las que he servido. También me gustaría tener uno para San Juan Crisóstomo. Una de las damas de la parroquia ha ofrecido amablemente preparar el álbum para mí. Así que les solicito: si tienen alguna foto de mi tiempo aquí en San Juan, como bautismos, bodas, etc. Les agradecería mucho si pudieran dejar una copia de esas fotos para mí en la rectoría.
