We value each person and draw from our diverse talents to grow and to respond to the ever - changing needs of our community. All are welcome!

BAPTISMS We congratulate the parents and families of the children who were born again in the new life of Christ, and who became a part of our parish family through the sacrament of Baptism.

12 MONTH NOVENA TO PRAY FOR THE 2016 ELECTIONS The novena, which started on November 22, 2015 in the Chapel of Our Lady, Cause of Our Joy

will conclude on October 22, 2016. A Holy Hour will be held on the night before the November 2016 Elections.

ELECTION PRAYER TO MARY ( starting on January 22) O most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, we entrust the United States of America to your loving

care, and beg you to reclaim this land for the glory of your Son. Overwhelmed with the burden of the sins of our nation, we cry to you from the depths of our hearts

and seek refuge in your motherly protection. Look down with mercy upon us and touch the hearts of our people. Open our minds to the great

worth of human life and to the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Free us from the falsehoods that lead to the evil of abortion and threaten the sanctity of family life. Grant our country the wisdom to proclaim that God’s law is the foundation on which this nation was founded, and that He alone is the True Source of our cherished rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit

of Happiness. O Merciful Mother, give us courage to reject the culture of death and the strength to build a new

Culture of Life. Trusting in your most powerful intercession, we pray: Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy

protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, we fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, our Mother. To thee do we come, before thee we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions, but in thy

mercy hear and answer us. AMEN.

Dear Fr. Michael, We are so grateful for the opportunity to visit St. Columba for a collection each year, and I thank you for continuing that tradi-tion. I am so sorry I am just now getting around to expressing our gratitude for the kindness of your dear parishioners! I am involved in an Internship which keeps me very busy, but it does not reflect the sentiments of your Residents who are so appreciative of what so many people do to help us! Through their generosity, your parishioners once again showed their support for our mission by donating $7,489. We also gave out quite a few envelopes and they have come back in great number. Thanks for allowing us to come again. Know that we, and the Residents we serve, will continue to pray for you and all there at St. Columba. Sincerely Grateful in Christ, Sister Mary John, L. S. P.
