OUR VISION

The story of Alice is a revisionist take on Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland in which Alice returns to Wonderland seeking answers to questions about life and love, her ill mother, and the father she never knew. It shows how things are not always as they seem as the true stories and fates of many Wonderland characters are revealed. The project sets a musical standard to this iconic story through an enchanted retelling of the classic tale. It features themes of female empowerment, equality, and mental health.

The premiere production of Alice will bring a taste of Broadway to Saint John, New Brunswick. Six performances will take place at the Imperial Theatre from August 14th to 18th in the summer of 2018. The show is intended for all ages and includes multiple layers of storytelling to connect with audiences young and old. Alice is an experience for all to enjoy.

Alice will make a positive impact in Saint John arts, culture, and business. It will engage participants from the arts community in acting, dance, music, costume, set, and technical design. The event will also attract large audiences to experience uptown Saint John. All proceeds from Alice support the Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick. Through economic, health, and societal benefits, Alice provides an opportunity to enrich the lives of our community.

IMPACTARTS & CULTURE

IN SUPPORT OF MENTAL HEALTH

OUR CITYAlice is an original musical written, produced, and performed by members of the Saint John community. It represents our ability to create professionally outstanding works of art when we work as one, bringing businesses, artists, and creators together to develop a once in a lifetime experience. Marketing will extend across Southern New Brunswick to attract audiences of 5000+ who will enjoy the uptown experience of shops, restaurants, and culture, surrounding each performance.

Alice features themes of mental health. The project aims to raise mental health awareness and contribute to support initiatives in our community and others through future performances. It’s a cause that positively impacts the lives of those who suffer from mental illness and those who care for them. The project aims to help end the stigma surrounding mental illness by giving all proceeds back to the Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick.

This highly collaborative project acts as an investment into quality of life in our community. Attending and participating in creative projects is synonymous with good health and wellbeing and Alice is a production that is the first of its kind in our region. The production is a collaboration of skills and talents of Greater Saint John community members.
