SLS CLUBS AND SERVICES
Any gear and equipment used by SLSA affiliated clubs and services for the purposes of frontline surf lifesaving /surf rescue or Surf Sports competition must be endorsed by SLSA and on the listed in this manual.
This is to ensure that members are using equipment is of the highest industry standard, fulfils operational requirements, and is safe to use.
SLSA affiliated clubs and services using equipment that is not endorsed and listed as approved should be aware that they may be susceptible to any possible insurance and
litigation issues resulting from an incident.
SUPPLIERS AND MANUFACTURERS
Any new or modified gear and equipment that is to be used for frontline lifesaving operations or surf sports events may undergo an evaluation process.
These evaluations are to ensure the equipment is of the highest industry standard, fit for purpose , and does not present any intolerable secondary risk to members.
No officer, member, supplier or manufacturer has the authority to change specifications, introduce rescue/sport equipment or modify existing approved rescue/sport
equipment without the written approval of the SLSA.
Suppliers or manufacturers wishing to have their equipment evaluated by SLSA should contact the SLSA Portfolio Administration Coordinator or their SLS State/Territory
centre directly.
