    Perspective covers the

    founding of Maryland as

    a colony, the types ofpeople who made up the

    colony, its economy, the

    founding of Prince

    Georges County, and

    some of the 18th Century

    architecture that still

    stands in the county.

    Bone Builders consists of three parts: balance exercises,

    weight training and discussion concerning diet, safety and

    exercise. This program, in partnership with Montgomery

    County, uses trained RSVP volunteers supervised by a certi-

    Trip # 2: The Brewmasters Castle, Dupont Circle, Washington, DCOktoberfest is being celebrated this month, and we will honor it in our own way with a tour of this fascinat-

    ing historic site. The Brewmasters Castle, is the late-Victorian style home of German-American beer baronChristian Heurich, and is included on the National Register of Historic Places. Heurich was the citys most

    successful brewer, and ran his brewery, on what is now the site of the Kennedy Center, until his death in 1945. Heurichshome, built in 1892, features original hand-carved fireplace mantles, gilt furniture, bronze statuary, an onyx and marblestaircase, decorative arts, musicians balcony, oak-paneled dining room, bierstube, gardens, and much more. Bringspending money to purchase lunch at a local restaurant. The site is wheelchair accessible.

    proper processing, it is best to speak directly with a Recreation Department staff person, and not leave a recorded message.

    2. A Takoma Park Recreation Department registration form is required for each trip.Note: This form must be received by the end of the pre-registration period, or the participant will be removed from the list,and the space will become available.
