Would you like to travel and try different foods, enjoy different cultures, and participate in celebrations from around the world? Although we may never leave Belleville, you will embark on an adventure that will take you from continent to continent. Each day we will look at a different country. Make crafts, learn dances and participate in celebrations from around the world. The last day of camp we will be looking at Canadian foods, crafts and celebrations. It will be a chance for you to showcase your own heritage and cultural background.


Something Sew Special

aGES 9-14

Make one-of-a-kind creations while working on a variety of exciting projects. This class promises you lots of ideas and fun. With hands-on instruction, you will learn to design and sew your own creations. We will make pillows and room decor – from crazy felted animals and purses to clothing and more. A suggested supply list will be provided. Please feel free to bring your own ideas, fabric and accessories to really jazz things up.


Urban Art aGES 9-12

Urban art is a form of artistic expression that has matured into an exciting and commercial form of graffiti. You will learn the how-to basics using various media, including markers, acrylic paints and air brushes. This class includes discussions on the history of graffiti art and profiles successful graffiti artists while illustrating how they utilize their talent. It emphasizes the important distinction between graffiti as an art form versus an act of vandalism. Also, learn the techniques, understand the culture, and show your colourful work on canvas during the end-of-the-week exhibit.

There is a 40-foot T-Rex in those hills just waiting for you to unearth him! Join a team of junior palaeontologists and geologists as you embark on a prehistoric adventure at Batawa’s own interactive research camp. During this week you will be part of a dino dig to reveal a life-sized T-Rex. You will discover ancient fossils and minerals, create fossil rubbings, identify dinosaur footprints and make a casting of your own footprint to take home. Hike through wooded areas and learn wilderness survival techniques as you explore Batawa’s natural environment. Work together as a team to pick a perfect location to buld a survival camp. That’s why we offer refunds, less a $20 administration fee, if your request is made five working days before the start date of the camp. Refunds will take approximately four weeks to receive. To withdraw your child from a camp, call 613-969-7900.

Camp CancellationsOur goal is to run every camp, but sometimes we do have to cancel due to low registration. We promise to give you at least five working days’ notice, and if possible, we will move your child into another Loyalist camp. If we can’t accommodate you, a full refund will be provided.
