Review 2016 – 2018 Strategic Plan

• Mission: The Seed Council will expand eBusiness participation and drive business value within our industry segment by enabling projects, growing membership and expanding the value of eBusiness

• Goals:• Expand eAgriculture through eConnectivity and Automated

Information Data Capture (AIDC).• Document the value of the efficient business processes achieved

through seed connectivity.• Enabling eAgriculture through active project that may be new

eConnectivity message(s), development or "under study", such as developing business processes, use cases and assessing viability.

Objectives

Goal #1: Expand eAgriculture through eConnectivity and Automated Information Data Capture (AIDC)

Objectives:• To complete 183 SC-II planned connections by December 2018.• To have 500 seed connectivity messages working between retailer location and

manufacturers by December 2018• To have the top 5 seed manufacturer's packaging barcoded with the

AgGateway/CRISTAL barcode standard by September 2018• To increase Seed Council membership by 10% and meeting and work group

participation by 25% by December 2018.• To increase awareness of seed connectivity and AIDC to ag retailers by 20% by

December 2018.

• Goal #2: Document the value of the efficient business processes achieved through seed connectivity.

• Seed Council members to create a business value document and tools by 9/2016, to be available to the public, on how eBusiness in seed allow companies to have more efficient business processes. The document and tools will be drafted by Mid-Year Meeting in 2016 and updated each year (if applicable

Objectives

• Goal #3: Enabling eAgriculture through active project that may be new eConnectivity message(s), development or "under study", such as developing business processes, use cases and assessing viability.

• Improve data quality and satisfaction (product, retailers and growers) by x% through synchronization between manufacturer, retailers and AGIIS as a three-way checking point by December 2018.

• Understand current SC-II messages implementation limitations within committed companies by 6/2016; and then update implementation standards and procedures by 11/2016 to increase implementation progress.

SC Planned Connections

Objective is to have all 183 connections completed by December 2018

• Currently about 68 completed

• Plan to meet with key manufacturer decision makers in September/October to see what the commitment level is to complete connections.

• Determine the major seed manufacturers

• Determine a list of all US ag retailers and locations

• Determine who all the ag retail software suppliers are.

Being a mentor is typically where a more experienced

or more knowledgeable person (in an area of

concern), can guide and support someone with less

experience

What is entailed?Situational Mentoring –Short-term relationship in which a person mentors for a specific purpose. • 3-6 months minimum, or

as long as the mentor and mentee mutually agree.

• PCR was approved and signed on 4/28 (122 hours)

• This PCR included additional functionality for a user to submit comments.
