Functions
• Consultancy in the planning and organisation of meetings
• Promotional activities to attract meetings to the city of Barcelona

Services offered by the BCB to conference organisers• Co-ordination of site-inspection visits• Advice on conference planning and suppliers• Blockage of hotel bedrooms• Advice on social programme• Co-ordination with local authorities• Co-operation for the promotion of the congress/exhibition• Brochures and maps for delegates• Creation of a Transport and Security Committee specially for the conference• Coordination with public transportation company, to obtain reduced price on transportation cards• Coordination with Metropolitan Institute of Taxi
During the congress we will offer at the venue the following services:• Information staff• Tourist brochures• Restaurant reservations • Bus turistic tickets and other products of the Tourist Board

• 1st contact from local doctors showing us their interest to bid for theconference and how BCB could help/assist them
• 1st contact with ICO, International Council of Ophthalmology to get the BidGuidelines and showing the interest of Barcelona and local doctors to bidfor 2018

2011, March
• Meeting with City Council, Hotel Association, conference venues and BCB to create the strategy for the bid process
• Selection of a PCO to join us in the Bid process, it is compulsory and the local doctors do the selection
• Weekly meetings with local doctors, BCB and the PCO to review all the requirements and answers
• Creation of a Local Host Committee (LOC)
