We are UDWhen it comes to athletic success the

University of Dayton fall sports programs

rank second to none.

The Flyers enjoyed one of the most

successful and recognized seasons in

school history. Six Flyer programs won a

regular season championship, tournament

title or individual medalist. Two programs,

women’s soccer and volleyball, each

advanced to the NCAA Tournament and

won their first round matches.

In addition to each team’s achievement on

the field, our student-athletes achieved a

combined cumulative grade point average

of 3.2, the best in the Atlantic 10 and in the

top 10 percent in the NCAA. Additionally,

University of Dayton has had at least one

Academic-All American for 26 seasons.

The successes of the Dayton teams

contribute to a sense of pride in the

community and across the state. The very

mention of the “Flyers” evokes a sense

of history, tradition and championships.

Nationally, UD is synonymous with winning

the “right” way.

The mission of the University of Dayton

Department of Athletics is to inspire

champions today and prepare leaders

for tomorrow by providing an excellent

environment to enable student-athletes to

achieve their highest academic, athletic and

personal aspirations.

Our coaches and staff are committed to

making this mission statement a reality in

all of our endeavors. Our student-athletes

only have to look at those who have come

before to understand that at the University

of Dayton, mission statements are truly

what dictate our decisions; they are not just

empty words on a banner.
