    But I would like to reconnect with myrelatives , because after being just the three

    appreciate the importance of family , and just being close with the ones that youlove .

    Not that much, even if I had someconflicts with classmates when i wasyounger. But today people around meaccepted me for what I am and I am

    not judged by ethnicity.It was not such a big cultural shock,

    because I was young and also becausemost of the traditions are the same. I

    believe in the benefits of diversity soIve always tried to influence others

    for the better

    L ipovans are a small ethnic group of Russian descent who mostly live in theTulcea district in Romania and in Bugeac (Ukraine). S mall groups of L ipovansalso live in Moldavia , Bucovina and Constanta.

    The Russian-lipovans from Romania are believers of the old orthodox rite andare known in the whole world under the name of old believers ( of old

    belief) or old rite believers ( of old rite).

    The religious schism which took place in Russia in the 17th century and the persecution that was unleashed against those who opposed the reform,determined hundreds of thousand of Russian old believers to leave their homeland and migrate to different corners of the world

    The few elements that differentiate the relligion of L ipovans from the one practicedin Romania are related to religious rite and not dogma :

    The cross is made with two fingers (forefinger and middle finger), representingdouble depiction of Jesus Christ our S aviour: divine and human nature .TheS taroveri Russian cross has eight corners;

    S aviour's name written with one I - Iesus;

    joyous holiday, celebrated with dance ,music and traditional dairy- based food such as vareniki, blini or piroghi.

    E aster, a very important holiday for the L ipovans, is celebratedwith family, dyed eggs and pound cake (Cozonac). These two foodsare blessed in the morning of the Resurrection of Christ, right after the sermon. L amb is nowhere to be found in L ipovan traditions.

    L ipovans also have the tradition of caroling during Christmas.They announce the birth of Christ, not before the celebration, butafter it . Their repertoire contains only one carol , which is called Christ is born
